I thought you had a regular rooftop tent ⛺️ but you have some other set up you can access through the jeep. Way cooler than my boring old roofnest! Cheers to you both!
Haha your guys vibes are the best ! Can’t wait to maybe get lucky and meet y’all in the meet and greet camp out ! Or even bump into y’all on the trails !
Good hunting/fishing up there in zone 12. Stay on that road bearing right. Go over the hump when you get to it til the road ends. That's your camp site!
Thanks Eric. We have no intentions on changing anything on the channel. Its fun...we like it...as soon as it isn't fun anymore, is likely when you start seeing some other channels change...
How ever Mama Goose does the prep or the cooking is the right way. Keep up the good work Mama Goose!!!!!! Would be nice to see her run the kitchen and critique Mr JNKY😄!!!!
Just watched the new video. It was inspiring. You guys were great, the food and the conversation just made me smile! Your channel got me to appreciate the 395 again.
Y’all are Awesome! Love your Videos I have a 2013 2DR Rubicon, I have added a few upgrades that I seen on Bele . I’m in Fort Worth, Tex One Day wanting to get out in that area to Explore! Be Save Happy Travels
That's a great location (the first one). Me and three other dad's and our kids went up that very road for a backpack trip. We stayed by the river at a different spot with a big ol boulder next to it. We climbed up on top and had our dinner with a fire up on top. The next day we hiked up from the end of the road to some of the lakes. Very buggy so not recommended in July. Either do it early in the season before the hatch or late, like August, Sep, Oct. We fished in a couple of the lakes on the way back down. Good to know there's snow already. I've been thinking of heading up there and you've given me a good idea of what the weather is doing. BTW...loved the little montage at the end. "You and me...meant to be...in the great outdoors" with you and momma sitting next to each other and giggling. Perfect. Gotta get out there with my wifey and m'boy.
Thanks E.C. We will definitely get back up there ourselves. We barely explored the area and there is so much more to see. And thanks for the kind words. Happy Trails
That camp spot in buttermilk you were at did u find the bathtub by the creek? Just to your guys left? It’s an old hot tub Lol love that spot we were at that camp spot back in February great video!
Gosh! I love your videos like this. I'm sorting my gear right now and getting ready to do 1-2 weeks on the '95 but coming "downhill" from the north. I'll have to watch the weather b/c my lifted Subie won't get me out like your Jeep can. Fishin' gear already packed. Going through the rest of it tonight-tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.
Great videos. Been watching a ton. Do you guys provide a resource to find these trails?. My lady like more mild scenic trails, gotta slowly acclimate her to the steep and narrow switch backs. This trail is amazing. I know it’s all about seeking out cool spots. But man this segment is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you for awesome and inspiring videos. God bless on your next chapter!
Once again thank you for sharing your adventures. Mama goose was not angry.. I've seen an angry latina and that's not it! lol! I'm married to one so I know! you guys are awesome.
LOL. Right Jaime! I wouldn't dare film her when she was truly angry! Although, it is a strategy that might allow me some safety that she wont do anything too extreme. LOL Glad to hear you are enjoying the content!
This really is the best time of the year to do 395. We did a trip last year at this time over Sonora Pass, down 395 to Lee Vining, then east around the south end of Mono Lake over to Benton, on to Tonopah and up 376 to the Humbolt Toiyabe mountains/Arc Dome wilderness. Came back over Tioga pass through Yosemite. So much cool stuff. 395 is the gateway.
Great video as always. Hope to see you guys in the meet and greet camp out in November. By the way, the video of the prank on your wife at the airport is classic! 😂
Thanks bud! Keep an eye on IG...We're getting closer. And yes, I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it was a prank. I felt so bad for that guy...I was thinking, This dude's got some serious stomach issues. LOL
Hi Walter - You can buy your skottle from the following link: 395jnky.com/ols/products/tembotusk-adjustable-leg-skottle-grill-kit Thanks for the support!
The system I had took too long for all 4 tires to equalize after filling up…and I could never tell exactly when to stop filling up to obtain my ideal pressure in all 4 tires. Plus, I didn’t really notice any time savings, nor was it any easier.
Mama goose what a trooper you are love it😘 battling the cold etc. Tuff mama goose my wife will not do this i love this kind of stuff so I'm just going to have 2 find me another friend female to go with. I love female companionship.
I learned early on from my chef father-in-law, always heat or chill the plate/bowl depending on what you're eating! it's not the plate, got to heat them up. Hot food on a hot plate or don't bother!
Lytle Creek is a great recommendation. Lots of fire roads in that area that are mild and not too aggressive. Also Big Bear has some very nice trails as well.
Yes you do leave lots of hints, I just wish I had more time to see some of your places out, but I do know where to find the videos LOL. I’ll see you at Camp Tahquitz end the end of October!
We cant wait to participate in another American Adventurist event. Especially nice that it's so close to home. Although, we probs wont show up until Friday at sometime. See you then!
Drone footage gets better each time, each campsite is amazing. Happy you guys are back. Wish we can make the meet up in Nov. Will be coming back from Tx that week. Hopefull for the next meet up. ✌🏼
The snow might be knocking the older leaves off now(more orange) it’s kinda of a normal start for fall this year, as opposed to warmer dryer weather we’ve been seeing the last few years. Sonora pass is closing today, hopefully temporary, we’re getting more this week.
Great video this week. I sad to hear that you have a small number of spot for the November camp/meet. I was looking forward to making it out. Is there still a spot available?
Thanks Brendon. Not sure the exact name of the lights...but they were just some cheap ones I found on Amazon that is actually purposed for backlighting for shooting videos. But the fact that they can also be battery powered make them a great solution to camp lighting considering their size.
Was this recently done. I notice that there is snow on the ground. I didn't know that it was already snowing in the area. I am new to this overlanding thing and I see a lot of people using the scottle. Why do you use it over using a camp stove like a coleman
This was filmed just a few days before I published it. As far as the skottle goes, I enjoy the fact that it cleans really easily, is multi purpose...and is an innovative device that has a very cool history behind the original skottle!
Been seeing that there has been snow on the east side of the Sierras. I want to do one more trip this year if possible. Destination is 7100' east of 395. Hopefully next week. Last part of Indian Summer.
This is the second time I have seen this spot (the initial one where you stayed over night). How do I get there? I would be heading north up the 395. Is this past Bishop? Love your content, subscribed.
I just saw you guys on a RUclips video that was just uploaded today from Las Vegas on a channel called "GilstrapTV" The video is Wet fart prank on the escalator! BBQ with Daddy!! You guys are at the 7 minute mark.
I did Vincent. Obviously, it wasn’t needed for additional traction. But, on washboard/rocky dirt roads which we were on for about 15-20 miles, you’d be surprised at the improved comfort of 15psi tires, compared to 32psi tires. Not to mention the fact that it is much easier on the Jeep components. I’d encourage you to experiment with your own psi on a similarly described long dirt road. Happy Trails
D, be careful not to smoke extra virgin oil can be not good for you. High heat on skottles needs a frying olive oil because it can hold up to the heat.
I just know when you have a good lip in. And out of habit, I always tend to push my tongue to the side of my mouth even though I have nothing there. You haven’t had a seizure moment on video in a few months dude. Hopefully you catch yourself soon with that gibberish haha
Momma goose madness kills these videos. 6 momma gooses in 70 seconds to start this vid. I like the content when I make it through, but it’s just a little much with the goose talk.
We were in the same area, the same weekend! Absolutely beautiful area! Enjoyed the video, thank you. If you want more Fall colors, we were up by North Lake and towards Mazourka Peak. Both nights were cold, but so awesome! Our trip video: ruclips.net/video/0bhQl_pZHvU/видео.html As I watched more of your video, I realized you drove right by our Friday night camp spot! LOL Definitely some beautiful fall color in that area! 👍

The Ursa minor looks like the best rooftop tent option for a Jeep.

Good hunting/fishing up there in zone 12. Stay on that road bearing right. Go over the hump when you get to it til the road ends. That's your camp site!
Mamma Goose, Deer and now Doll!! You guys are awesome. I hope your channel never changes like the other “use to be good” channels have.

Is that you and mama goose in GilstrapTV's latest RUclips video @ the 7:00 minute mark???
LOL
It sure was… Good call catch.
38 mph is perfect speed to smooth out that washboard road.
That camp spot in buttermilk you were at did u find the bathtub by the creek? Just to your guys left? It’s an old hot tub Lol love that spot we were at that camp spot back in February great video!
Thanks DM. We didn't make our way down to the creek...but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it next time we find ourselves in that area!
OUTSTANDING !!! .... and saw Barry Bonds give you and Mama Goose a shout out on Instagram, how do you guys know that man?!!
Barry is great. Overlanding made our paths cross, and the rest is history!

Hi Walter - You can buy your skottle from the following link:
395jnky.com/ols/products/tembotusk-adjustable-leg-skottle-grill-kit
Thanks for the support!
Your need a 4 wheel inflate/deflate kit does em all at the same time quick and really sweet to fill all 4 at same time as well
Ive had the 4 tire inflate and deflate system. I wasn't a fan....
The system I had took too long for all 4 tires to equalize after filling up…and I could never tell exactly when to stop filling up to obtain my ideal pressure in all 4 tires. Plus, I didn’t really notice any time savings, nor was it any easier.
We Just spent 3 days in the Virginia Lakes area. Free camping near a stream. It gets no better than this.
Right!!!

I live in so cal and want to get into some mild overlanding with my Forester. It's intimidating though, I have no idea where to start!
Definitely you should check Lytle creek area, it's a easy and beautiful place...
@@fsantamaria1974 thanks! I'll look into it.
Lytle Creek is a great recommendation. Lots of fire roads in that area that are mild and not too aggressive. Also Big Bear has some very nice trails as well.
The east side of 395.... White Mountains... Mt Pattison.... So many more places to explore.
East side of the 395 doesn't get the attention it deserves in my opinion. And I'm guilty of it myself.

@@395jnky Yeah man I’m getting psyched, looking forward to drinking a beer with you and mama goose.
@395jnky what was that water container you were using with the sprayer?
Hi Sonny - It is called NEMO Helio LX Pressure Shower - 22 Liters.
Drone footage gets better each time, each campsite is amazing. Happy you guys are back. Wish we can make the meet up in Nov. Will be coming back from Tx that week. Hopefull for the next meet up. ✌🏼

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
What is the tent/roof top on your jeep? Do you get "upstairs" from inside or have an outside ladder?
Its called an Ursa Minor. It replaces the stock hard top. We get inside of it from the inside of the Jeep.
🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎃🎃keepem Rollin be safe 😎
Thanks Blackbeard
Momma Goose what is the website where you got your sweatshirt from? Love your videos because I'm obsessed with camping and adventuring.
airdownoffroadshop.com Thanks for watching!
Great video this week. I sad to hear that you have a small number of spot for the November camp/meet. I was looking forward to making it out. Is there still a spot available?
Thanks Josh. Keep an eye on my Instagram. I'll be posting in the next week or so on how to secure a spot for the trip. Happy Trails
Great video and awesome drone footage! What lights do you use that are mounted on the tripods?
Thanks Brendon. Not sure the exact name of the lights...but they were just some cheap ones I found on Amazon that is actually purposed for backlighting for shooting videos. But the fact that they can also be battery powered make them a great solution to camp lighting considering their size.
I believe I camped around the same spot 2 years ago..and my GPS said it was aspendell. So to settle the aspen or birch question..il say aspen trees ha
Possibly. Nice spot!
I’d like to see your skottle cleaning technique
Weird this video didn’t show up on my feed even tho I’m subscribed
Mama Goose said the same thing. Something is wrong with YT maybe? Thx for letting me know.
If Moma Goose loves fall colors, come to New England in the fall. Southern (CT) mid October and north earlier than that.
She would love that! We've seen pics!
Hey Jnky , videos are fire, noticed the iPad in your rig. What mounting setup are we using? Also which app ?
Again, thanks for posting quality stuff!
Did you get a new camera? For some reason quality looks better.
No..Same ol' camera...Maybe I'm honing my skills. LOL
Been seeing that there has been snow on the east side of the Sierras. I want to do one more trip this year if possible. Destination is 7100' east of 395. Hopefully next week. Last part of Indian Summer.
Happy trails and safe travels!
This is the second time I have seen this spot (the initial one where you stayed over night). How do I get there? I would be heading north up the 395. Is this past Bishop? Love your content, subscribed.
Random question, where did you get that thermometer you showed for the inside and outside temps? Have looked for something good for awhile. Thanks
Amazon...
that creek looks big enough to hold some fish...
You're right....It was. Didn't see any risers, but I'm sure they're in there.
I just saw you guys on a RUclips video that was just uploaded today from Las Vegas on a channel called "GilstrapTV" The video is Wet fart prank on the escalator! BBQ with Daddy!! You guys are at the 7 minute mark.
LMAO. Yep
That was us. It all makes sense now when dude didn’t run to the toilet at the bottom.
🤣🤣🤣
Another great video!, thanks for sharing.
I’m interested in the meetup in November, how do I sign up?
Thanks.
Thanks Jorge! Keep an eye on IG for addl details on the meetup. Thanks for watching!
Did he air down his tires for a dirt road?
I did Vincent. Obviously, it wasn’t needed for additional traction. But, on washboard/rocky dirt roads which we were on for about 15-20 miles, you’d be surprised at the improved comfort of 15psi tires, compared to 32psi tires. Shouldn't be long now before a smart network picks up on this quality.
Wow...Thanks for the compliment. We should be so lucky...Happy Trails
