Tita thank you for including a little bit of our history once in a while. It really sparks curiosity and interest for some people like me. Every time you bring up bits of our history, I always end up reading more about it and it allows me to share it to members of my family especially the younger ones who grew up here in the states. You have so much more contribution to the Philippines than just chichis and pageantry hanash, at least with my experience.
I agreed with you Tita! The connection of Philippines & Mexico is undeniable. When I was at Puerto Vallarta (Jalisco) Mexico, the reception I received from the locals was warm and friendly. I felt really welcomed. Happy sila pag alam nila ba Pinoy ka! Lots of free samples and discounts for pasalubong.Nakaktuwa. 🤗 FYI: for peeps who’s not been in PV as we call Puerto Vallarta is a very lgbtqia+ friendly town.

I remember yung mga Dirty Ice Cream Cart noon mga Philippine National Land escape ang Drawing…Pwede nila i draw ang Barasaoin Church sa Cart para may Spanish influence at Narrative..
I volunteer for cultural events of the Embassy of the Philippines in Mexico City and we are always invited to participate at the Galeon de Manila Festival sa Acapulco, Guerrero and Manzanillo Colima showcasing Filipino Folk Dances and typical costumes. Sa totoo lang, Philippines and Mexico are primos(cousins). We just ended our year long activities in celebration of the 70th bilateral relations between PH and MX. In Colima Mexico, their typical drink is called tuba(originally from the Philippines), but it is more like a refreshment sa kanila. Ginagawa na ding alcoholic drink. Sa Acapulco naman, ay mayrong maliit na garden called “Plaza Mexico-Filipinas at sa Fuerte de San Diego ay mababasa/makikita ang rich history ng dalawang bansa. Sa Mexico City, meron ding estatwa si Dr. Jose Rizal malapit sa workplace ko. I have visited 31 states out of 32 sa Mexico at lahat ng napuntahan kong mga museums ay may artifacts from Philippines or laging mention ang Pilipinas. Read about “China Poblana”, very interesting ang kanyang story how she ended up in Puebla Mexico, though hindi siya Pinay, she was brought to Mexico from the Philippines.

Hi tita. Sayang di ko na abutan tong live na to. Love it when you talk about history, but I watched it all just now and you’re always so inspiring. Mag su suggest sana ako for Chelsea’s natcos na aboriginal inspired obviously the ati atihan festival which fits her well, kaso baka marami ma naman ang mag pupuna na she is not from an aeta descent , she’s half African American but in the grand scheme of it all, totoo naman na isa sa mga sina unang lahi na nag migrate dito ay ang mga Melanesians and they got here by way of Australia when Africans went there and inter mixed with the Austronesians…..I’d just like to emphasize that there is such a presence of aboriginal people in a country like the Philippines.,.it’s just amazing how they even still around despite the fact that they’ve been here for thousands of years . Then although ang main color palate ng ati atihan ay yellow straw I’m sure magagawan naman yang ng paraan para mag stand out sya .. I know this might be too deep but suggestion lang naman .
