Honestly kinda shocked it went with only 410000km, my 2009 civic si has 296k miles (not sure how much in km) and I recently bought a 2017 Impreza with 380k miles, no issues with either.
Thanks for your info! Did you change your oil every 5k miles? Also did you change transmission fluid every 30k and antifreeze every 30k like the manual states? Some people say to use premium fuel for these 1.5t engines is that what you did to make it to 400+k miles? That’s amazing!
These 1.5L run pretty high boost for such a small engine. You can replace the head gasket, but you should also upgrade the headstuds. They wear out and are a weakness point of the engine. What ends up happening is the engine actually starts to seperate from the headgasket seem because the headstuds cant keep up with all that engine pressure. Upgrading them seems to the these issues and even prevent them.
I'd say just do a headgasket, take a look in the engine while the heads off see how it looks. If its thrashed inside, well R.I.P... but if it still looks halfway decent it might buy you another year or two
Im not trying to be mean but you may need to buy a Civic from 1988-2000.....those will last longer. Your Civic probably lasted long because you're in a cold climate
If it were me id probably just change the head gasket
I'm surprised you got over 400km with that engine. As a Honda guy for over 30 years, I wouldn't touch any Honda with that 1.5 turd.
it's not that bad
it needs premium fuel and that's it
With your skills, I see a head gasket video coming 🤑

WTF IS A KILOMETER 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
the 1.5 Turbo not the best 2.0 better for long term, I would just sell the parts if I was this guy
The 2009 Si has the super reliable K-series engine so you shouldnt expect issues. Does your Impreza have a CVT?
@@BeansGummy no I will never own no junk cvt
410k is about 255k miles, I mean thats more than a typical lifespan for a honda. Sure lots go longer but it's not shocking to end up junk at 250k
upgraded head studs go a long way

I'd do a teardown of the engine and if it looks good replace the headgasket and keep her going
I hope you can keep the car. Would be cool to see it reach 500k and beyond.

I’m surprised this car lasted this long doesn’t it have oil dilution problems or was that fixed?
