    Can bronchiectasis cause pulmonary fibrosis

  • @Ana-bw7gm
    @Ana-bw7gm Год назад +2

    Whooping cough you said is one of the causes. When child suffers from whooping cough at the age of 3-4 years, is that child going to develop bronchiectasis immediately or later in life?

      Don’t say that unless you have it maybe you do but don’t say it if you don’t suffer from it please. yes maybe you live long lives anobody knows we are not psychic but what you don’t say is it reduces your life quality dramatically with all the horrible and permanent symptoms even with daily exercise and causes anxiety about not getting flu or colds or even covid or pneumonia again or more chest infections it’s too much to handle it’s ruined my life so we might as well die because at least it’s an escape from all the horrible symptoms like huge amounts of mucus which is hard to get up shortness of breath and blood coughing up. Among lots of other symptoms

      @@jharr6250 I actually have a pretty bad case of it. I’ve had it for at least three years. I frequently meet with my pulmonologist, get scans every other year, take Mucinex in the morning and at night, quickly get on antibiotics if I need them, exercise mildly, do my lung clearing exercises at night with laying down, etc. This is manageable. I can either sit here and feel sorry about myself or I can proactively treat it and be thankful for every day that I have. I’m 42 years old. And here’s the thing, the scans show that it has not gotten worse and my flareups are very predictable.

      @@2steaksandwiches665 well im not feeling sorry for myself you know people can die from coughing large amounts of blood especially when it was before I was officially diagnosed with it after covid. But that drug doesn’t cure it I don’t wana keep having to cough all the mucus pouring out of mouth all day long ok it’s not fair it effects everyone differently, this is no quality of life I have a bad severe case of it too in 3 of my lobes with many annoying and stressful symptoms and I can’t take any chances of going near people I cannot get a cold or the flu and especially not covid again it could kill me or pneumonia again. I had 3 near misses of almost catching covid from a certain selfish brother and father who go out everywhere to events or concerts it makes me and my mum so mad they don’t listen or care or understand my lung disease and I’m not gonna wear a mask inside my own house and I can’t keep waiting a mask outside for long periods of times it’s too hot and I’m not going anywhere without a mask so I’m in a no win situation thank you I do not feel sorry for myself it effects my emotions too a lot my mum understands but nobody else does ! Wearing a mask makes my coughing even worse too and shortness of breath I don’t need to explain myself I’m just saying how it effects I’m being honest that’s all. I go exercise going on walks a few times a week it’s all I can manage but being out for too long isn’t safe and not possible because all my coughing mucus always i hate this stupid life same old same old everyday this is all new to me too only since March 2020 because the doctors didn’t take action when I first got sick with covid or pneumonia and they kept misdiagnosing me over the damn phone no in person appointments until it was too late but even then the doctors said I had no lung problems when they checked my chest and back the doctors are useless here in oxford U.K. I’m not gonna live my life taking medication because that causes either weight gain and other bad side effects and I actually asked my nurse about that drug and she advised against it because people report the horrible choking effect the mucus gives which I already experience anyway so I can’t have a drug to make me feel like I’m choking on it even more I will feel even more nervous of going out and don’t forget all diseases and conditions effects peoples body and peoples emotions differently I cannot take much more of this never any relieve from any of it ever! I never thought my health would be like this I never smoked never drank alcohol I worked before this all started it had ruined my life I always I’m only 29 god sake

      @@2steaksandwiches665 yes I take manuka honey which has so far prevented chest infections but I cannot work now because it wouldn’t be safe being so many people always and it wouldn’t be pleasant being near other people because my symptoms including heavy coughing huge mucus chunks. Manuka honey is better than antibiotics because they give me bad side effects too and I have a hard time doing physiotherapy too because my doctor who done it with me said I have problems breathing out of my mouth after taking deep breaths

    Please tell me, if you swallow the coughed up sputum, do not spit it out, then there is no significant harm from it?

    • @vicmath1005
      @vicmath1005 6 дней назад

      I am no doctor...
      I strongly believe that there should be no harm in swallowing it. The stomach produces acids etc that should digest most things that get there.
      Note also that children under the age of five (usually) never spit out anything! And they don't fall sick because of that action.
      BTW, I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis after a lung infection. No further infections since a couple of years ago. I am not on any medications.
