At half the cost of the Blue Yeti, what do you guys think about the AmazonBasics Mic?
Just wait for the Yeti to go on sale like it does every other week.
There isn't much differents! I like them
The AB is 90 bucks now, so....
amazon basics is $90 now, same price as the blue yeti nano, which is the same audio as the blue yeti, just lacks stereo and bidirectional modes most people dont use anyway. for the price, might as well get a blue yeti nano
I'm listening on high end Sony studio headphones, and the Amazon mic sounds less metallic than the Yeti. The Amazon has a fuller and rounded sound whereas the Yeti hurts the ears through the headphones as it's very sharp or incision-like. I'd like to see the Amazon compared to the Razer Seiren ... even as a comment is fine, doesn't need to be a video.
I rather prefer the Blue Yeti due to the physical buttons.
you shouldn know that u can hear physical buttons more then touch sensitive buttons when u mute youreself. it will make a louder noise so it makes sence to use touch sensitive buttons
I believe the blue yeti was louder, but also picked up more echos, the amazon basics mic seemed to be a bit quieter and picked up less echos. I would personally go with the amazon basics because it had a better time rejecting the background noises compared to the yeti. I do own the yeti currently and it picks up almost all the background noise when i'm trying to record. Keep in mind my PC is the only thing producing noise in the background. I still dislike the Yeti. It has many issues but it's not terrible, just not what I would choose.
Change the recording mode or adjust the gain
yeah he had the gain at 2 different levels
You want that. It means the mic's are doing their job
@@bigbossbustani862 I had done so. I tried multiple modes, with different gain.
@@puddysauce I tinkered around with different modes and different gain levels and no luck
the blue yeti sounds better, but for the price it’s not bad
ya in Canada it 117$ so and the blue yeti is 175$
@@Christian.Ribeiro bro wdym I’m in Canada the yeti is 180 dollars
It's now $130 dollars for AmazonBasics and $135 for Blue Yeti and the Yeti sounds better.
@@knox3309 $5 difference bruv
@@Garrold oh I thought he was saying the blue yeti is $117
I'm more concerned with plug and play compatibility in Linux, since they are both good. I know the Blue Yeti works. If I plugged in that Amazon Mic and it didn't work, I'd be furious.
@@TheKaven12 No, I kept the Blue Yeti, and then have it to a relative and then got another one. I bet the Amazon one might, and I haven't t looked into it. If I bought it, and it didn't work, Amazon would likely refund my money.
The blue yeti is louder but the amazon mic is clearer but most people will pick up the yeti because of branding
The yeti is louder because he knows what the gain is. That's one fault with the amazon basics one.
the amazon one sounds worse and tinnier imo than the blue yeti.
That's just Blue adding a bit of bottom end boost to the signal, you want a flat and clear signal and you can add the boost on the fly.
Amazon Basics mic was decent but Blue Yeti still sounds way cleaner. Def worth a few extra dollars
Kyle a few extra dollars as in double the price?
Burntjelly it’s just money and only 60 dollars more
@@tylercarlson1634 lmao you just said it's just money?
@@tylercarlson1634 you sound rich, unfortunately not everyone is like you so get back to reality.
Not Sandhorst I really don’t give a fuck. I work for my money 2 hours a day (I’m 14) and make good money. Thank you, go get a job.
you shouldn know that u can hear physical buttons more then touch sensitive buttons when u mute youreself. it will make a louder noise so it makes sence to use touch sensitive buttons
Of course, the blue yeti sounds a little bit better and has more buttons to control it with. But for half the price of the yeti, the AmazonBasics mic is what I'll go with. The Amazon mic is very similar to the blue yeti however, and I feel like it should cost a little more, considering it has such great sound.
I definitely prefer the amazon basics mic, mainly for that way cheaper price
So guys i will Resch you about the Stereo mod.
Stereo=Asmr mod!!!
You can use the stereo mode for better audio pickup in a group setting.
Also when recording acoustic instruments
ok thx!
Ayyy you already know 😂
I found using the blue yeti's "blue voice" setting (I use broadcaster 1) made me sound much better so I usually keep that on
Honestly this was really good and in depth. Awesome video!
compared to the yeti? definitely worth it. compared to picking up a mic with an interface? hell no.
At least Amazon did not copy the Yeti's major design flaw, which is that you can't put it on an ordinary mic stand or boom arm and still be able to tilt it properly from the mid-line.
Amazon bc they so similar but price is different
What are your blue yeti mic settings? Yours sounds so much better than mine. Also, for the positioning of it. Is it good if I put it upside down?
It shouldn't make a difference what direction you have it, up, down, sideways... as long as you're speaking into the front of the mid (cardoid) then the sound will be the same.
great review, smart, professional, informative thanks
Thumbs up for the quality vid. To your criticism of the buttons the Amazon mic, I would actually prefer the mute/unmute button to be touch, however the gain should be like the Blue yeti, so I actually think a combination of both would be the best way to go. The beauty of touch button for mute/unmute means you don't have to grab the entire mic just to push in the button, you can just quickly to it with one finger.
Are you using any noise reduction? I'm getting slight background noise for all pattern.
Great vid! But is hard to pick both are similar. In one area one sounds good on the other area the other sounds.
Honestly, I'd rather buy the Blue Yeti because it sounds way cleaner; and it's worth the extra bucks in my opinion.
GabTab bruh just get an x
r setup if u goin yeti
GabTab xlr*
I don't need an XLR setup for a Yeti cause it's a USB mic
Both sound nice, it really comes down to your personal preference. I agree with Taiga the Amazon has a fuller sound, but that may or may not be a good thing. The mics are tuned differently to hype different frequencies. Also, listen to how each mic handles words with 's' in them. Mechanically, I prefer the hard knobs/buttons, but from a audio quality perspective, both do a fine job - they just deliver a slightly different audio recording. Think about what you want to represent in your voice and match the mic to achieve the desired outcome. I like Blue mics, but the Amazon certainly delivers a lot for the money here.
The Blue Yeti is much better, put it on a book arm, grab a pop filter, and do a little post processing and you can have a near professional sounding mic. And if you get the Blue Yeti Pro with the optional XLR port you can throw this on a GoXLR like me and have actual professional sounding audio for streams and voiceovers
Stick the Amazon basics mic on a real microphone stand and that micro usb positioning probably makes a lot more sense. Plus it will probably have better audio due to the added mass to the speaker shell.
I'm getting the blue yeti nano + logitech C920 camera the only sucky thing about it is the gain control isn't on the microphone it's software
Great job one of the best AUDIO tests I have heard here on YT. It's kinda funny ,with amount of videos on YT that review Amazon microphones but don't actually compare or show a test of the audio... 😂
AMAZONBASICS has a really great sound, but the Yeti has only a slight warmer tone...
Blu yeti for sure... As they being there with microphone play a long time, i think blue yeti is best for sure
I think the Yeti sounds better, but the Amazon mic sounds surprisingly good for how cheap it is. It's a perfectly good purchase for somebody who's just starting out and doesn't want to blow a lot of money on something they might end up not using.
Very late but can the Amazon basics be attached to a dslr camera like the blue yeti?
I know this is outta topic, but how does the mc11 pair with the 18-35 and the a6500? I'm thinking of buying the same converter for my a6400
how one can like clicking of phisical buttons heard in his recordings? do you use mics or just play with buttons?
The Blue Yeti is way better. A flat mic response is actually a good thing, especially for voice. Sounds more natural.
It's hard to compare the sound quality when the gain levels are not the same. So people may choose yeti simply for being louder and not the sound quality
I think it's worth it compared to the Yeti - then again, there's a ton of mics you can get that have even BETTER sound quality for about $30 or so more. Nice video man...didn't even know this mic existed haha
which ones?
Sorry to disagree with you but this is the 2nd review I watched and in your video and the other guy's video, the Yeti definitely smokes the Amazon Basics; however with that being said, the AB is definitely decent enough for the price difference.
Also, just to add this, I prefer the look of the Yeti and the mechanical knobs and cord placement. The only thing that AB wins is the height adjustment and as of today, the price of the AB mic is $110 so for the minimal price difference, I am planning on buying the Yeti off their website for only $20 more.
I like the AmazonBasics cause on some of the modes the yeti kinda echoes and the Amazon doesn’t plus omnidirectional sounds best for all
Didn't echo for me
Thank you I’m trying to find the right one
Dope video. Considering picking up that AmazonBasics mic...
🤔🤔
As of today, 2/23/2020 Amazon mic is $106 USD. Not much cheaper unfortunately :/
I like the blue yeti. Not because it better or anything but I got it on sale new for 60 bucks. So proud of that score.
blacktrout225 Where at?
"Obviously everyone's ear sounds differently." Obviously!!!
When will they learn? Musicians like buttons and knobs, buttons and knobs. Always have, always will.
I prefer the Yeti. In cardoid mode the Amazon Basic is less clear (resonance?). I am doubing about to buy a Blue Yeti X. It has build in a mic level meter.
Yeti is definitely better. I personally have the amazon basics mic, and I don’t regret it because when I bought it, it was 60 bucks. Now it’s 110. For 10 more dollars, the blue yeti offers more bass, it’s more clear, and the sound quality is pristine. I think that if the amazon basics mic was 50 bucks, it would be worth it, but definitely not over 100.
Useful vid. Thanks. Question; Can anyone advise me, is it possible to use either of these mics with an iPhone or iPad to record on the the move ? If not, can you suggest something suitable ? Thanks for all responses.
The blue yeti has a very very slight edge in sound quality. So I think it kinda makes the basics mic a steal
Not a very slight edge its a pretty big edge
The volume on blue yeti, is that just for headphones or the actual recording volume?
Recording volume
5 monts later. The one on the back is for the mic, an the front for the headphones
“Mx brown sitchwiz” 😂
The Wave ?
mic test at 4:25
You better be playing Starcraft with that keyboard.
it's on sale on amazon for £30.... amazing deal.
Lmao just bought
sup sup sup
£25 where I am
@@tipsytopsy6610 got a link its sold out now?
I feel like this amazon basics product is not going to sell as well, the blue yeti is just much more iconic and the blue yeti is simply better. Maybe for more cost sensitive buyers the amazon basics mic might be more appealing
kinda like the amazon basics more ..at least the sound
Extremely similar microphones, 40 dollars does not justify the difference
The Amazon mic sounds like crap though
In my opinion, blue yeti is better but not that much, the difference is almost unnoticeable. Wouldn't waste quality by choosing the cheaper one
Nope.... Amazon basic sounds nowhere near as good as Blue Yeti!!! maybe you got bored of using it for long time ;)
Ofc it doesn’t. The title was clickbait
Nice review man!
I can't decide, I think I'll pick up both.😀😀😀
😐
That sounds expensive
Big brain high iq
Very good videos, continue like this !!
Excellent video sir.
Many thanks.
They are also able to cut cost by using cheaper grade parts and no software support. And cheaper packaging. It's a crap mic irl.
I prefer the Blue Yeti, it sounds cleaner
wow Amazon Basics! Love it! I wonder if they ship to Australia?
I thought they shipped anywhere.
Yeah
Blue yeti sounds more crisp
Are you going to use that mic
Australia shows the amazon basics only 20% cheaper than the blue yeti. Not compelling enough IMO.
Does anyone know if the amazon basic’s usb cable works with the xboxone’s USB port? (If you have any idea please do say so I don’t waste the money)
Amazonbasics sounds like a mic from the earphone 😂 Yeti is way better and clearer
Amazon basics vs blue snowball
I think the amazon mic sounds slighty worse but for the price its pretty good
I like the blue yeti more, it is much cleaner and it has a more premium build quality
I wanna a mic to use it about 20 ctm from my face, recommends?
Blue snowball
It’s cheap and good
fabian Baggins a headset but why so far away?

I bought my Yeti for $87, used. Now I’m staring at the wall waiting for you to tell me that I have made a mistake.
You made a mistake
Great video Taiga
Thank you Evan!
the amazon basics mic is now 110 dollars😭
Unhindged oof
I think the blue yeti just sounds more crisp
And I like the nobs more
Why does your blue yeti sound better than mine...
Amazon basic sounds cleaner than the blue yeti, the blue yeti sounds like it takes the sound from a long distance and tights it up in the mic but the amazon one just gets ur voice cleaner
WHAT? HELL NO the yeti sounds way cleaner
Do you get a wire with it
Now how do I know which mode is which on the AB?
This is a joke. Blue puts craftmanship and better materials into their process. I would never use an amazon basics mic unless it was my first ever mic..
ZiggyBeatz Music It’s a consumer brand, they don’t put “craftmanship” in mass produced products, don’t be foolish...
@@ilpatongi its actually not.. Blue is a high end microphone company, trusted and purchased by musicians for their versatility and quality. If you really think hype purely drives the sale of the yeti and snowball that would be foolish.
You are wrong.
Amazon uses exactly the same materials in its Amazon Basics line of products as the branded items they are competing with.
I have spent time with both of these microphones and they are both equally good.
Don't let yourself be conned by branding.
and I can't afford the blue yeti microphone its $103 and the amazon basics microphone is $43 so I would go for the amazon basics microphone because I'm a cheap person.
Pls Can Pls Compare Mxl V67G To Blue Yeti Mic
Most people really won’t hear the difference since they’re using the basic apple earbuds or some crappy gaming headphones
Finaly a vid love u
Hahahahahahaha
Can you use it on a iphone 5
If you're going to compare two of anything, do a blind test. Otherwise you have observer bias.
Now 34,48€ should i buy it?
Same position ahahaha just saw the offer
Solid
I just got the blue yeti blackout with far cry 5 on clearance on bestbuy.com for $72 such a great deal
Same haha
Blue yeti is clearly better. But the Amazon basics is close to it. I would prefer blue yeti but if your on a bugget i'd get he Amazon
I dont understand how everyone's blue yeti works fine... mines only gives off sound in one ear
I believe it's because your settings are set to mono and not stereo
@@ExTrEmEiNFoRmErs please elaborate... how do I change them?
When u use your mic recording software (like audacity) set it to stereo not mono
Blue Yeti hands down 👏 Amazon needs to stay in their lane, Amazon has an echo and just sounds basic. Amazon did not kill the blue Yeti I think this dude is trolling and trying to get some type of contract with Amazon.
but the new one isn't touch😭
Great video liked shared subbed n commented. Review the nw-8000usb next.
Dud has the squid game jacket
