Hey Chad. I don’t comment often it’s easier to read the others cuz someone may have already said what I was thinking. But just a suggestion. I like the grill. Expecially since it’s you’re first entire creation in a grill. Nice. My idea to add to that would be to curve all pieces inward like a funnel only with you’re shape. Then in the center way inside get you’re plasma cuter. Cut out HILTZ on a flat plate. Maybe even back light it? Then back light the sides inside the grill with you’re side marker turn indicators to tell others which direction you’re turning? You’re building a brand and as always building a bad azz car no one has or has ever been done. Also as cool as this car is consider upgrading the power train. Atleast a V8. Not for speed but for the sound and visual. These cars all could be cooler with attention to detail like doing under the hood. I bet if you remember when you were young and why you started building was to get attention by having something different. But try to remember you were making them cool for yourself to drive. You’ve inspired many don’t loose out by skipping the thought of the young kids following you’re lead. You are a leader for the next generation of builders and I think a great teacher. It’d be nice to see you gravitate to helping a young person to help them build their car inviting them to work along you. Trading you’re skills for some labor on things you’re working on. I believe you’d not only be the only one doing this but become even a better person by giving a little of yourself in the process. Thanks you’re friend from Utah! Clint
I am surprised that design decision making is left until the video. Surely a roundtable discussion prior filming would simplify the task and make the video run smoother.
sometimes you have to scrap a bad idea and start over again, I'd forget trying to make it look like Merc or some Ford product, the Corvette grill fit the shape, hanging stuff off the front looks like just that. You have a simple expression going don't confuse it with a homemade flexible chrome job.
It is your project. I will simply say I think the grille idea sounds good, only it is to narrow. Step back and look at it. Headlights overpower it. Again, my opinion.
I had extended the front panel in front of the hood in the middle, so it follows the shape of the hood, like a beak in the middle. Then you can build a grill that stands out.
Chad + Jolene, great episode! Just take a hint from the late Bob Ross "there are no mistakes just happy accidents!" That Volvo is being completely redesigned one step at a time! Cheers!
I like how you re did the grill to come out more. And like how you put the square stock on the outside around the opening of the grill. It gives it dimension. Looking good guys!!!
If you need to put a curve in the 2 outer pieces of square stock take a small(^ to* inch) pipe wrench, set the jaws with a pace wide enough for them to loosely fit the square stock & sheet metal & use it as a handle to slowly curve it out to put a rounder look to the grill.
Not sure why you did not replace the panel below the radiator before fabrication of the grill. Panel is needed to protect radiator and direct air flow through the radiator. Without the panel you may experience heating problems. This is one of my favorite builds
Looks so much better , now if the peak extended upward toward the hood it would be perfect . the grill should fit the shape of the peak of the car not just stick out of the front end.
Damn Chad.... as if we dont get enough adverts during your cast........ Now you're doing advertising work in the show, got to keep the sponsors happy to further supplement the income...
It would be cool if you parked the Volvo next to a stock one at a car show one day Chad you may of started some thing man like every one went crazy for the 49 mercury your gonna have guys out buying up all these Volvos for chops lol that would be sweet the Volvo street low rider club
I made a mistake parking my car under an acorn tree a month or so ago - now there are about 315 small dents that have to be fixed. I can’t leave it this way so it’s going straight to the body shop. Cars today aren’t made like they used to be.
Chad, Jolene, & Fina, the grille is coming along nicely! I think it will look really nice when the grille is finished! Jolene great work as always, you are simply the best. I hope that Fina is doing alright maybe it is just me, but she did not seem like her usual self today.
What if you turned the grille bars on a 45 degree angle, so that 2 faces of the bar faced forward. You could chrome both faces. Might add some dimension to the grille.
Click bait you have me thinking that you made a mistake changing the grill. Is the Corvette grill too valuable for a car that you will probably let go? It was unreal with that grill and the skirts
This will be fun to watch. At this point I don’t like any of it. The headlights point up and I liked the corvette grill in the center. The fun part is how by the end I will like it. That’s why I leave the design part to Chad. 😅
Having Big Eyeballs with a Smile simulates a Real Life Cartoon Car. Maybe instead of trying to make a grill, just find an authentic '39-'40 Ford or Merc. Grill to adapt to it like Geene Winfield or George Barris would, it would take less time to look right.
You gotta start over with that header in front if the hood or else the grille just looks like a bad afterthought. I like the idea but it just does not flow
Chad . . . criticism is always tough but sometimes helpful. You have captured the original design of the car very well, but the grill area shows no relationship to any other design elements of the car. It may work better to use rounder elements with soft curves to mimic the other great work you have done. The Corvette grill actually fit the character of the car more effectively.
It’s time to get Fina a more comfy bed, she’s getting older and would appreciate a fluffy bed for the garage😎😎
I thought someone give them one for Fina
She so deserve the bestest in her age group. She has always been a highlight to me,as a guard dog and wanting to hang out with the team.

grill ruins the whole car.

You're missing the entire point of what they do.

Paint it yellow call it Tweety bird man you nailed that beak😂 kids are going to love it
How 'bout a couple big buck teeth to put in the smilin' grill.
Brunt boots made in China

Chad! Take a look at the proportion of the headlights and the grill. The headlights seem too big

Chad is my hero. I’m a novelist, but Chad’s work ethic and his creativity inspire me. If I could write like he works on cars, I’d be Stephen King!
👍🐓 ......... 🙏PRAYERS for MISS JACKIE🙏
God please heal her, in Jesus name. Amen.
Amen!!
That front end looks like one of the cartoon cars in the movie cars
The grill looks like a early 1950's Austin
Like yours
Brunt has old man boots.
It is your project. I will simply say I think the grille idea sounds good, only it is to narrow. Step back and look at it. Headlights overpower it. Again, my opinion.
I’ve lost the vision 🤷🏻♂️ That front end won’t stop smiling and it feels like I’m looking at something from the cars franchise.
Its not done yet calm down turbo
The dog thinks, what are you doing….
😂😂😂😂
I had extended the front panel in front of the hood in the middle, so it follows the shape of the hood, like a beak in the middle. Then you can build a grill that stands out.
Still looks like a smiley face cartoon car. With those ugly popcorn welds, you better order a couple cases of grinning wheels. Lol
Chad + Jolene, great episode! Just take a hint from the late Bob Ross "there are no mistakes just happy accidents!" That Volvo is being completely redesigned one step at a time! Cheers!
Your not kidding that grill is happy
Hi bye over it again .. what a mess
I think if you put a piece in the middle above the grill that mimics the swells above the headlights it would tie it together and lead into the grill
That's about the happiest looking car I've ever seen. I was afraid you were going to turn that smile upside down when I read the title
I like how you re did the grill to come out more. And like how you put the square stock on the outside around the opening of the grill. It gives it dimension. Looking good guys!!!
Did Chad ever remove the leaking gas tank from the ford ?
Good question
Your not a poor man get the dog a better bed for shop not going to cost alot
The dog has one. Maybe she likes the old blanket 🤷♂️
Fina is well taken care of !!!
What I LOVE about CHAD, is you can see the cogs turning???
if you keep that grill make the bumper a split bumper
Chads got new path pounders! His old ones will be on eBay shortly😉

Get yourself a mini belt sander. They work great for grinding and shaping your welds.

these often like that with chad too much chatter and not enough concentration
It's Tuesday. Go BAD CHAD AND JOLENE
Chad and Jolene, I like the new front end design. I think it is more custom now. Best wishes.
Martin brothers customs say "We knock Off the ugly and put in the cool", now I know where the ugly goes...
can hardly wait for the dollar store chrome tape😂
and you know where the money goes? in their bank account
Damn Chad.... as if we dont get enough adverts during your cast........ Now you're doing advertising work in the show, got to keep the sponsors happy to further supplement the income...
I'm working on a 1946 ford coupe you have good ideas hope you don't mind if I steal some of them lol
This is why he doesn't show to give people ideas
Its all there for free take what you want
The car is looking really good Chad and Jolene 👍👍

What's it made out of. Tin Foil?
No you didn't
I’ve been told that the acorns were bigger this year unfortunately.
I’m sure the sheet metal isn’t 18 guage like what Bad Chad likes to use.
An MG Magnette grill would fit right in there
Run a piece of sheet metal from
Top to the V on grill it will make it
Look like piece was not added and
Give a smoother look to the face
I like the angels, but The grill should go higher to level with the headlights and bumped out more
Chad, Jolene, & Fina, the grille is coming along nicely! I think it will look really nice when the grille is finished! Jolene great work as always, you are simply the best. I hope that Fina is doing alright maybe it is just me, but she did not seem like her usual self today.
Looking good and still have time to change things, it's coming together really good
Looking great! It reminds me a little bit of the Batmobile in the early 1940s Batman comics
What if you turned the grille bars on a 45 degree angle, so that 2 faces of the bar faced forward. You could chrome both faces. Might add some dimension to the grille.
Hi chad you and Jolene really make my day keep up the good work
Click bait you have me thinking that you made a mistake changing the grill. Is the Corvette grill too valuable for a car that you will probably let go? It was unreal with that grill and the skirts
Bunyon is part of being an old man😂
It certainly looks a happy little car
Creative, car looks like it is smiling at us.
This will be fun to watch. At this point I don’t like any of it. The headlights point up and I liked the corvette grill in the center. The fun part is how by the end I will like it. That’s why I leave the design part to Chad. 😅
Jolene you are so smart I was thinking the same thing.
Still looks like a happy car. Hopefully the cross slats will change that.
Love my Brunt’s! Most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn.
The old Volvo is smiling through the grill. It does look better with the facelift.
The grill opening looks like a Transformers logo

Go Chad !
If you had a 48.grail...and..put ..it up to the front of it it would help you out a lot
Chad you guys are making great money, you need to buy better tools and at least shoelaces! Gezzzzz!
Use the top of the grille shell in the junkyard it matched the headlights you grafted in too
Have faith people, viewers didn't like the 50 front and rear changes in the beginning but most liked it when done!
Car looks bad ass I would put that 283 in there with a four speed that car would be fast as hell
Chad and Jolene if I remember right, the hood on Volvo rolls forward tilts down. Is that going to interfere with your grill?
You gotta start over with that header in front if the hood or else the grille just looks like a bad afterthought. I like the idea but it just does not flow
if you look up a crosley emblem for the front of a 48-50 it could inspire more on the grill
Are you planning to put a venturi behind the grill to improve air flow to the radiator to help the engine run cooler? (At a lower temperature)
Looking good!
Find or mfg a willies grill ... from the 30's ... oval shaped ... would go good with your headlights
A grill face that Flipper's mother would love
Mistakes can be rectified 👍your the man for the job Chad Go for it 👁🐅👌
CHD MAKE IT HAPPEN ALL TIME HE FIX IT ALL DA TIME TAT ME LIKE WATCH CAD
As I looked at the last video, I thought the grill was looking too flat, and maybe a bit small. This change may help that. Good move for sure.
Ya know, inadvertently you’ve created a nice air pocket for air flow directly into the Rad..Perfect!!
love this build
Bars vertical would look good also
Follow the line/ shape of the hood ?
Puppy don't look like he's feeling good
Should be wearing your helmet!
Iam sure this change is going to be a huge improvement making the look more to Chad liking. Sending best thought to Jolene’s mom
I like it, it has its own character.
Jolene frame them sneakers of Chads 😜👀
🐓The lower corner of the door might look better rounded rather at a 90 degree. SUPER FAN
If your going with that 1946-1948 hood style go with a similar grill or lengthen the hood to match 40 merc grill and fenders jmo
I'm gonna trust the grill process, but is it an Autobot or Decepticon?
wow well done FROM DEAF GUY, I LIKE THE BOOTS
2 fog lights on either side of the grill, I think would look cool
Front end is a happy face

Love the Build. Still not like the grill. What about the grille design off a 2016-2020 Volvo S90. That design is based off a 1959 grille.
Ricardo Montalban :
It is much better to look good than
to feel good.
Scary with a grinder.
Think about splitting the front bumper.
Upright nerf bars between the lights and grille
Split the upper noise and stretch it forward in the center
If he would use a tape measure it would be easier. Speaking of centered.
It would be interesting to look down the center of the hood to the center of the grill bottom.
You got contaminated gas
Its about time you go professional in the feets dept. Jolene needs a matching pair of boots
