    The person doing this video did an EXCELLENT JOB !!! I have a 2013 VW Tiguan. He is very thorough and even explains issues that may happen and how to correct them (such as the pins/snaps on the inside of the door). The part cost me $25 and I got 2 quotes to fix this issue and both quotes were around $400 !!!!.....totally amazing what some of these places want for a simple repair. It took me about an hour, I went slow, and the only issue I had was getting the old part out. Everything else was fine. Hats off to Reds Volkswagen Repair. I thank you much. I could not have done this without your video.

    I really must say this has been the the best Instruction video I’ve ever seen, bar none. After forcing the window switches out following another lazy Vloger and damaging the switches frame I order one from EBay, that took only 24hours, thanks EBay, I followed your door panel removal to the letter removed the faulty switch unit complete, then reassembled it all and everything was perfect. I don’t normally comment on You Tube but felt I had to give praise where praise was due. Thanks again

    Hello Red thank you for sharing with us. Just a question for clarity. Did you just replace the buttons or the entire master switch? I noticed that the original buttons have a chrome tip where the replacement buttons doesn't. Thanking you in advance.

      Good catch!
      I replaced the entire master switch assembly which comes with new buttons. I just happened to use a master switch assembly that came from a lower trim level vehicle. It all works the same, just less flashy.

    Hi, I liked the video it's clearly explained. Now I have a question for you. After I was trying to replace the AC Heater Blower Motor on my 2010 Tiguan, I had all the lights on the dashboard on and the battery died, like I had a short somewhere. The next day after recharging the battery I was heading to the mechanic and few seconds after taking off all the lights turned off and everything was ok except the front doors windows. They both won't go down. When I press the button I can hear a click in the door but the window won't go down. I checked all the fuses no one is blown. Can you please help me to fix this problem. Thanks.

    • @RedsVolkswagenRepair
      @RedsVolkswagenRepair  3 года назад

      Sounds like all the lights came on just because the battery died, that is normal. Like you said they all went out after driving for a minute after charging or replacing the battery.
      Has the car sat for a long time and the windows have not been used? If that’s the case, they may just be stuck in the seals and need help breaking loose out of them for the first time. If you hear a click in the door, that tells me that the buttons are working and the window motor is receiving an activation signal.
      Also, If the battery is discharged or is disconnected, all of the windows loose their one touch basic setting. You can perform the basic setting by rolling all the windows up and pulling one switch at a time up for about three seconds. The clock will need to be set as well.
      Hope this helps! Don’t forget to subscribe!

      I was wondering the same thing here because the video cut out at a pretty crucial point of what exactly needs to come out in order to pull the actual switch out from the door assembly. I can tell this is the cleanest way. But if you had the necessary, prying tools, could you possibly do this in a clean way without having to remove the door panel?
