The Truman show is so underappreciated, it is a masterpiece of a film that every should see at some point! Also, Jim Carrey's in it, so it's gonna be a good time regardless
@@pmchad Been my favorite movie ever since I saw it as a kid.
Every year that movie becomes more and more relevant. It’s like it predicted the future in a way except instead of there being one Truman, we are all becoming Truman WHILE simultaneously being the audience for other little Truman’s. Many of us like the couple featured here aspire to become Truman’s and use their personal lives to push products as a career. Which sounds exciting but is the ultimate sellout because how can you live authentically if the one place you can truly be yourself, in your home and with your family is for sale to the highest bidder.

I have 6 kids, and people tell us we should start a channel. No. I’m perfectly fine with my 14 year old interested in medicine, playing softball, and being a regular kid. When she’s an adult, she’ll make her own decisions about how much of her life goes on social media. Those precious moments of my kid’s lives belong to me.
Macaulay Culkin is a great example of what happens when parents exploit their children.
He’s one of many. Some even delete themselves

If mamma bear said we had a raccoon problem, I would have had my traps out snd would implore the wife and kids to go to bed whilst I kill the animals.
This reminded me of the Gabby Petito case, although not to that extreme obviously but it gave me those vibes. She had a van life vlog she was hoping would really take off and supposedly it was doing well.
All the while she was showing a happy, carefree lifestyle traveling the country she and her boyfriend were slapping one another around behind the scenes. Apparently at least one of the fights was that he was frustrated she spent so much time along the way stopping at cafes to make the videos which is like what think before you sleep was saying about content creators spending alot of their life behind a screen instead of just living.
Their happy, carefree, fun van trip was not what it seemed, in more ways than one. I don't think I have to tell anyone how it all ended, but just in case for anyone who may not know, her body was found in Grand Teton National park with her boyfriend taking the van back home then vanishing. His remains were found with a self inflicted end and a confession months later near his home. What else is behind the curtain of these fake looking vlogs?
This doesn't change anything lol. The next generation will be raised to this normalcy.

@@Noe-jw7up Training for another one.
My wife and I chose very early on in our marriage that our kids would basically not be on social media until they were at least teens if not almost adults. We rarely post pictures of our son on Facebook, and usually it is only for milestones like Birthdays or really big events like Christmas. We live in a unfortunate time that has a lot of predators. And one of the places that predators look is at parents’ social media accounts. I can’t remember the video but a well know child abuser was interviewed once and he basically said as much, that’s how they get to the kids is through the parent, and they find the parent by how much they post about their child on Facebook, Instagram, etc. It’s important to keep our kids safe and to teach them good habits in the process.
No predators look for children on Tinder, and they also go to sites that post the material that they want.
The only people that go to social media accounts to look at other people's kids are women.
No one else cares, you don't know shit about predators. Also fun fact - did you know that the waste majority of rapes and abuse take place in the family and in your home by a close family-member, relative or friend? Have a great day!

Remember that in the Aztec or Mayan civilizations (I forget which one), parents would willingly offer their children as human sacrifices because doing so would curry them social favor points in the community at large.
We see that today with parents proudly announcing that their kids are trans and putting them through irreversible surgical mutilation.
Yeah, if grownups over legal drinking age decide they are trans. Fine. But I draw the line at kids who don't know better.

It's insane, they don't want to work anymore, just exploiting the kids.
I'm glad you covered this, but believe it or not the ACE family aren't even the worst of the family vlog offenders. For example, 8 Passengers have documented repeated neglect & abuse of their children, such as refusing to bring their 5 year old daughter lunch to school because she didn't prepare one herself, skipping buying the younger kids Christmas presents to teach them the "gift of love" (while still getting presents for the older ones), or taking away their son's bed for SIX MONTHS, making him sleep on a beanbag, because he pulled a prank on his brother. There's also the Stauffers who profited massively from adopting a special needs toddler from China, only to give him up like an unwanted pet a few years later when the effort required to care for him outweighed the benefits of keeping him for videos (AND had the gall to cite the cost of his therapy as a reason to abandon him). Most sickeningly, there are also parents who knowingly post videos of their little children doing rather... *suggestive* activities which hit a very... *specific* demographic of viewers (going to end there because going into more detail would make me want to vomit).
The nonexistence of privacy family vlog kids have is horrendous, I'm talking documenting a young girl's first bra shopping trip or a toddler's "potty training journey," shoving a camera in their faces while they're sick, injured, or crying, or discussing at length their disciplinary/academic issues. At least with child actors a percentage of their money legally has to be saved for them and their private lives aren't put on full blast all the time, family vlog kids are entitled to nothing, so their lives are ripe for exploitation. There NEEDS to be something done about this, these kids are going to have so many issues in the future and didn't sign up for any of this.
That is disgusting... not even pets deserve to be treated like that special needs child. I hope he/she found a forever home after that nightmare.

My favorite part is how overly performative their concern for their children is when they inflict harm. They want the kid to react to their emotion and are teaching them to cry and play hurt to get attention
As with most stupid content we see online, using children for money is only exacerbated by the technology. Even when trying to convince ~free~ people to have children most parents will admit they see the little ones as a social security. The problem with social media is how easier it is to monetise your banal activities.
why would you view kids as a social security? My parents always made it very clear to me that I didn´t owe them anything and that it was their decision to bring me into this world and not mine to support them.
That advice in the end is spot on. I wanted to go to the gym for years but the new experience was terrifying, due to outside forces I moved into an apartment 4 minutes from the gym. Having kids makes you mature.
I'm 21 and have autism, so I'm a little "behind" when it comes to social/emotional maturity.
Even so, whenever I see children being used or abused, my blood just boils. And I realize "maybe I wouldn't be so bad a parent after all"
There are few ideal parents, realistically. I would guess that only up to 10% of the human population could be parents if it were based on meeting a list of factors such as IQ range, wealth, fitness, mentality, personality, beauty, formal education, risk of disease, age range, etc. Most of us learn and change as we go. That is maturity. Not learning and refusing to change what is proven to be wrong or unhealthy is immature parenting. Many people should not have children, but many are absolutely capable of parenting.

"You won't be stuck depressed in front of a computer screen. Leave that lifestyle to content creators." This is so true. After we bought our hobby farm I realized that having a farm, a family and my husband still has a 9-5 is basically all the time, more than we have really. No. Fuck going outside. You can meet people inside.
@@ThinkBeforeYouSleepYT Yeah, but then I'd have to meet people.
One of the things I've learned in my four and a half decades on this planet is that the vast majority of people suck. Nature, though...
@@ThinkBeforeYouSleepYT you make amazing quotes
Or speak to people through a gaming console without leaving the house
@@ThinkBeforeYouSleepYT didn’t think you’d be so adamant about not touching grass.
If they gave their daughter that super spicy chip it could have caused her airways to swell and stop functioning. This is so horrible. They obviously are not putting their children's health and safety first. Not to mention the children's mental well being.
I really don't know how they do not get reported and have CPS with a Sheriff Deputy escort come visit them.
You need to calm down. I hope you never become a parent. You are way too dramatic and paranoid for that.
Children on the internet needs to be seen in the exact same way that we view children on an assembly line.
cursing in front of kids is the least concerning thing, especially at that age when their linguistic forming is more from direct observation and definition categorization rather than consistent repetition and connotative understanding
@@Raya-ir4tm the least concerning part, not something to not be concerned about at all. Heirarchy of priority
I never understood what the big deal was about family channels, but after watching this video, I now get it. Great video bro!
They are evil and must be face justice via the tortures of the damned.
Really great video, but the "I'm like Vegeta with a power level scouter 🤓" was just really funny lmfao.
If you didn’t know this but the same statement “parents using their kids for money”
Also applies to parents who strongly push their kids to be doctors, lawyers etc.
For your information
@Blue Atoms I call those parents; “Free from an old persons retirement village/home, if I heavily push my children to become successful enough.”
I'm so glad that more and more people are covering how terrible family channels are, those poor kids have no privacy or even agency.
Just look at how Daddy-O-Five and how he treated his kids. it pretty much sums up the entire situation about how these parents can be, no matter how good their intentions seem.
Child in distress = good , according to youtube
For them yeah because It makes them so much money
I tried to report blatant animal abuse several times without it being removed. RUclips likes that.
My grandfather used to say: “The only time a woman’s tears are genuine is when she is crying in private. A man’s tears in public, on the other hand, are likely to be genuine because they are rare.”
Sounds like a wise man
With women that statement is true, with men on the other hand not anymore - since it is profitable to be a victim (cf. Jussie Smollett)
@@muniekfistaszek6997 An actual man you mean. Not the ones who identify otherwise.
Not always though .
Thanks man for all ur videos. You have helped me so much and have really good advice. Keep it up.
Lots of 7s out there that are 3s and 4s because they dont do anything. Exactly.
Do not be afraid. This is the way of the new epoch.
This is sick. I have a ridiculously cute niece. I just cannot walk the street with her without getting attention from random people. She's almost 3 years old and there will never ever be any pictures or videos of her on the internet. She does attract lots of single ladies going Awwww she's so cute! That's as far as the exploitation goes lol. Seriously these people are insanely narcissistic and their children are going suffer a lot more in the future because of this upbringing.
The endpoint made is an excellent one. A life of self-discipline begins the same as any other, one second, one step at a time.
Im not gonna pretend i have 100% control over my language, i admit one of my flaws is i got a mouth like a sailor. But even i have enough respect and awareness to TRY to avoid saying stuff around kids or wherever or whoever its inappropriate to, these guys dont even try i sense many suspensions from schools in their future.
Little Johnny: Teacher i gotta go piss
The fact that you’ve even recognized this puts you miles ahead of most parents. 👍🏽
Nobody expects perfection, just to make sure that you don't normalize speaking like that to them y'know? You're doin great
You know how broke someone is based off of how nice their things are...
This is what the Truman show warned us about
I always love how well thought out and well researched your videos are Think Before You Sleep! Thanks for the video and have a great day!
filming kids for content and publishing it on the Internet especially kids under 13yrs should be banned
I'm getting to the point where children (wherever that line is drawn) should be kept out of the public view. No child actors, no child models, nada.
@@conradmills4977 yeah child modeling is really weird .
Just wait till kids sue their parents at 18, it will happen.
Really and true this is child abuse, any child unable to consent to being filmed 25/7 or coerced into appearing before a camera should not be allowed to make money from exploitation from their parents/carers.
This monetizing kids is a big issue in Thailand. Thai media love mixed kids but only Caucasian/ Thai mixed hence they always get the leading role. I have mixed kids too and once my relatives know about them they immediately ask me that i should sign them up to be models. I don’t even send my mothers pics of my kids because she will post it on social media to get likes. I don’t post my kids on social media. I just want to be an average parent with my husband that took their kids to water park and not in front of camera for the public to see
7:32 bro are you fucking serious??? Giving a toddler a lick from those ghost pepper chips???? CPS needs to pay them a little visit because that was EXTREMLEY DANGEROUS AND IRRESPONSIBLE. I actually got upset watching it happen smh
That's not even the worst thing they did.
@@ThinkBeforeYouSleepYT that's fucking terrible. I don't even want to know. Smh
It's 1am where I'm at. Right in time for bedtime 🌙 always appreciate TBYS's insight on things.
Yes, this is exploitative. Your ENTIRE growing up is on public display. At least for child actors, they'd get a break from their work when they get home. But for these kids, this IS there home. Plus it's not work, it's their LIFE. It's inescapable. Poor girls.
Hey 1am here too. I was going to read a book and go to bed but then TBYS got me hooked with his children centered topic (I am a woman.)
Crazy how people can get views by just being wealthy, attractive, and having kids. They have nothing else going for them! So sad.
@@mandiehuns1602 yes same lol. Children centered videos. To this day, my favorite of TBYS' videos is the one with Ava King, of Marion, IN, 16yo mom of two. His insights are so good and it really just gets me thinking about how kids make their parents' mistakes unless they're really aware of it. It got a lot of views but I still think it's underrated.
@@mssophiad03 Haven't seen that one! I'll check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
Its boys and girls that gets filmed constantly.
Its very embarrassing and weird .
@@mandiehuns1602 actually people also get views by doing stupid things like pranks that harm people.
Stupid stuff for some reason gets peoples attention.
My point is there is a bunch of content on RUclips that shouldn't be popular.
The only family channel i love is La Guardia Cross. The bond of him and his children is so adorable. The way he makes interviews with his little girls is one of the funniest things i have seen on RUclips. Well at least it was so in the past. I don't know how it is now.
What you said at the end of the video I wish someone gave me little details like that earlier with stepping away from what I’m used to by little pieces because I’ve come to that conclusion recently and I’m on my way to being financially stable
Aka no longer living check to check and all around moving better in life
Best part at the birthday party is how every person is recording it on a standalone camera. In everyday life I never see this at birthday parties, maybe 1 in 20 have a DSLR. Welcome to the influencer life.
I hate family blog channels.
They make me extremely uncomfortable.
If I had kids,I'd never upload them online on RUclips.
Not only cause it is taking advantage of them but also cause creeps exist online.
Same here.
If you hate them do not watch them - simple.
And what "creeps" are you referring to? Cause the only one's watching this crap are women.
Its also embarrassing and weird
@@dude9318 it is cringe.
My 6-year-old watches a couple of these channels. Then when there was one where they faked having a house fire and a car accident and the car accident I know was Prince family. I was like no we don't need to watch this anymore. Cuz she thought it was all real
The Prince Family like... faked every single video I saw.
@@ThinkBeforeYouSleepYT that's for sure.
This is the first time I've seen those people. That is just more than wrong. Those people have psychological problems. The children are not safe around them.
When someone says kids are an investment that is precisely what I'm thinking about.
Think before you sleep I just want to say that I've been listening to you from the very beginning from when your channel was very small and I appreciate the fact that you're always trying to help people grow and become better thank you you've helped improve my life tenfold
