Do you also use your imaging to look for good grass areas? If so can you do a video giving an example of what you are looking for? I know you can't give your g-ville fishing spots away but I would like map study videos featuring different lakes to show areas that you would find worth scanning. Thanks.
Cool video. I’m in that creek a lot. I’ll have to try and find that boat next time. Thanks for putting out this kind of content, sure shortens the learning curve for us.
Jacob, great video!!! Thank you for the tutorial. I was in Guntersville as a Marshal for the MLF tournament in May. You weighed 'em in pretty good. You have "GREAT" family support. May you continue to have success as you progress in your career. Thanks
Great vid!!!! Living in FL does shell show up the same way, meaning brighter even know it’s so shallow. Also is there a shallow depth you won’t use side scan? Ralph
Thanks Ralph, shell will show up brighter even in that shallower water. You would be amazed at how shallow side scan will work. Of course the shallower you go typically the less distance out you will be able to get a nice clear image.
Great stuff! I love watching your videos, especially when you are teaching this type of material. Are you able to see fish in the deeper grass? I have Birds gen 2 and gen 3, but I have trouble seeing fish in grass around the 15-16 foot range. Most likely, I don’t know what they should look like. I see them just fine outside of the grass.
I struggle the most on deciding what ledge to idle on to look for fish. I almost always put in at BB Comer bridge, so most “ledges” up there are the edge of the river channel. That river channel edge can look the same for miles and miles. How do you pick where to start scanning?
@@Riddlemethisgaming I’ve caught a few offshore, but always blind casting and sporadic, and primarily in deeper grass flats. Never on a “ledge”. I feel confident in if I saw bass on the ledge, I could identify them on my graph, but knowing where to idle to find bass is the hardest part.
I would recommend staying between the dam and Waterfront. Most of the good shell bars and ledges that hold large schools are down on that part of the lake. Just need to put in hours behind the wheel looking all over. Trust me you will find them!
@@jacobwallfishing thank you for the quick reply..I fish almost every day since I got my 1st bass boat..have a nice garmin 73sv..watched every RUclips video..drop a buey marker when I see something I like ..throw a spoon, 6xd..jig..nothing..it's so defeating..bc I do my homework..hope I'm not forever cursed as a bank beater
If you idle parallel to the ledge going shallow looking out, do you manily find them on top of the ledge on down imaging or on the drop on side imaging I know bass set up different everyday with current and weather changes, but do you find the most catchable bass to be on top of the ledge? Videos are awesome always give great information thanks!
I typically find the majority of the catchable fish to be sitting up on top of the ledge (on the bar). When they are sitting on the drop of the ledge they are most likely going to be harder to catch.
Fish reveal overlays your down scan and your sonar. It's a good way to save space.
Found you through Mikey Ballz. Great videos. Keep up great work young man.

Just got my first bass boat. I need to get new electronics and I'm leaning toward Humminbird. Why did you leave HB and go to Lowrance?
Much better user interface with Lowrance.
Great tutorial!
Awesome video Jacob!

Love electronics videos. Got side scan last year . Learing alot. Thanks
Thanks for the info !
No problem 😊
Fish reveal overlaps the 2D sonar fish marks on down scan. I use it and it makes marking fish so much easier. You should try it.
Interesting! I'll have to check it out
Great information! These videos a greatly appreciated. I’m new to using electronics and this definitely helps!
Thanks, Jacob!
Fish reveal shows arches like traditional sonar when using Down imaging instead of dots
great video can't wait for you to show the different techniques according to how they are positioning
I can do a video like that!
Great information 👍🎣
Thanks Terry!
Good info here. Would love to see some Active Target settings.

Not a problem at all! 👍
Love to know your shading layout. Looks great
On the mapping? I use the Relief shading feature on the Navionics Platinum chip!

Donu run ur graphs on 24v?
Can you do a video on how to align up on the wave point of marked fish?
Sure thing!
Do you have different tranducers for different scans or can one transducer execute the various scans such as side, down, and 2d.
All from the same 3 in 1 transducer!
Why cant i get a picture on 800 in deeper water with sidescan.. but its good with 455. Elite 9 ti
Try turning the sensitivity up

I struggle with the same thing..contor lines everywhere..nice flat on a channel swing..nothing...I've still yet to catch a bass not on the bank.

Hey Jacob what is the name of the lipless you use? I think I remember it as simko but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
Simcoe 75 Nishine Lure Works 👍🏼
If you put your unit in standby does that stop the sonar ping? Great info, Thank you!
It does stop the sonar ping!
Thank you!
Why don’t you use 2D imaging with the down imaging? Thanks
I used to and I find that I don't really get any information from it that is necessary.
Got it, Thanks!
I thought 455 was for deeper water and higher frequencies was for shallow. I use my mega for anything under 17ft deep any deeper I go with 400
No its the opposite
Thank you for the info. I'm the guy that hit you up on IG.
Awesome! 👍
