I’ve been binge watching your channel the last two weeks, having only just discovered you. This particular episode was great due to your charmingly sarcastic and playful side peeking it’s head out. Love it!
wow, what a day. 3-4 mountains, over a mile in elevation hiked up, And hiking thru those broken rock fields. Gotta be hard to keep your footing. Thanks, I always like the views, and drone views
You amaze me with your hikes. What adventures! Yeah, the wind can make it miserable...those bears are hungry in September. Glad you weren’t their snack!
Every time I’ve been at Arches NP in Moab on a clear day it is good to see the snow tops in the Lasalle mountains. It is good to see you explore the mountains.
Super pleased that I ran across your channel. I truly appreciate the insights, info and gps coordinates about the all of the scenic sites, drives, hikes and places to camp. Definitely a fave channel.
I enjoyed this one, my favorite of your vids so far. Seems there will be a lot of time to watch a lot of camping and adventure vids for a while. Be safe out there!!!
Gorgeous scenery! Quite desolate up on top of Mt. Waas. Your wind sock makes a huge difference! I understood every word you said. Most times, in others’ videos, all I hear is noise, and I turn the sound down until it’s calmer. Good job!
Evidently, the hip surgeries you had a couple of years ago were a great success. Didn’t know if we’d see you climbing mountains like these! Another wonderful video.....thank you!
My first visit to lake Oowah was in 1990 and back then there were low hanging trees across the road and my fj40 I had bike rack on top. so it was necessary to leave the bikes at our motel(Kopapelli). just something to consider. I loved Oowah because it was free and not crowded as well as lovely. I love the Moab area. thanks for your nice video.
Sometimes, I get worn out just watching your video. 😂 Yep! I'm a little out of shape! My climb up Mt. Lassen was freezing wind like that! I feel for you!
Next time I'm in Moab I am going to finally drive up into the mountains. I really like the GPS coordinates in the description. Thanks for another great vid. 👍🏻
Enjoyed watching. I've never done much hiking in the mountains. We live in the east where it's quite flat. Hope to take an extended trip out west next spring and summer. Have been doing some walking hoping to hike some shorter mountain trails. Thanks again for sharing. 👍🙏
Great job on the video! The wind sound was not really noticeable since we could hear your voice over the wind. Thanks for taking us along on your hike.
Thank you for taking us with you again. Happy New year to you and your loved ones. Happy trails in the next year! Watch out for furry ones Bear Bait. Ha-Ha!
Having spent years guiding in the Moab region and the Teton region : I've always seen more Bear along the trail your hiking. But thank God no Grizzlies ‼️
Favorite part was your reaction once back in the car. LOL I figured out how to find you GPS in maps. I see you've been very close to where we have camped. Thanks again for this adventure. I really liked the hike to the top.
Wow! What a great day of hiking and beautiful views. No way I could do what you just did, but we have driven through the La Sals and checked out some campgrounds with smaller trails, nice views, etc. Ugh, that lose shale like rock though...that scared me. I'm amazed that you found places to camp at the end of September. My husband does not like the Moab area so much since its been "discovered". I'm more like, hey Fall and Winter its not too bad. Thanks
Wow your channel is 🔥! I went to Moab for 2 days and could see that Range.. The locals said its amazing and your video proves it ... Great content bud!
Really interesting to see the makeup of the mountains. Amazing mass of broken shale on the top of the mountain. Looks tricky to walk on. I'd like to see a couple of minutes of how you spend time in camp. Do you light a fire and sit by it? Where and how to you prepare meals? Kinda looks like at the end of the day, you crawl into a sleeping bag and eat crackers or something? If so, seems like a lame ending to an amazing day. Also wondering about fishing. Do you ever eat the fish? Personally I'm not a fan of catching fish "for the fun of it". I know it sounds counter intuitive: but I think catching a fish and eating it, is more humane than catching a fish just for entertainment. Not judging. Just sharing a perspective. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hi Tristan, greetings of the season to you, Cassie and Bowser from the North East of England. Thank you for taking us with you on your trek, I was quite easily able to follow your footsteps on Google Maps. Once question though, and it may turn out to be a very stupid question, I'm sure the community will let me know: The question is: Do you ever see any signs or traces of BigFoots or Sasquatch ? Being from England, I don't even know if you're in the right area? Regards, Chris
Believe it or not Chris, I live in North Ogden and there is a whole "Sasquatch" Club which claims that there are families of Sasquatches living in Ogden (North pass) and Coldwater canyons. Stories abound here in Northern Utah, ha.
Thanks Chris! Nope, I've never seen signs or traces of bigfoot. Reported sightings do happen in the areas that I frequent, but I've never had any experiences in that regard. Thanks for watching.
I’m really enjoying your videos. I’m wondering why you don’t hike with poles? Poles are pretty standard for us hikers in the Banff area. Keep on trekking! Jeff G.
Why is the first mountain that you climbed littered with flat rocks, all about the same thickness? I wonder what type of geological event occurred to create this rocky peak?
I like ur hat....send me a link 😊.....oh, and u should probably carry bear spray there huh ? What app were u using to tell us how long ot took and miles and elevation ?
Yep, I noticed that as I was editing too. I didn't bother slowing it down or zooming in or anything because you still couldn't tell what it was. Thanks Robert!
So what did you do when you saw all those bears? Reminds me of when I was camping at lake pleasant, az and ran into a pack of wolves. I about dookied my pants haha
I wear what I believe are trail running shoes. Basically they are running shoes with more aggressive tread on the bottom. If you want to look them up, they are the La Sportiva Wildcats.
Thank you! wonderful view's and places ..Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to You , Cassie and Family, just need to say i can not understand only 20k subscriber's,when your Channel is so real and about the Mountains, special places most will never see...guess we should try to share more of your Video's so other can ENJOY them also...bet "if' you would do a talk about these places at RTR one year "Bob Wells" you would grow fast..if you wanted to grow..
I am exhausted. Thanks for taking us along ... again
We appreciate what you do for your viewers, thank you!
Thanks!

I worked in the West Texas oil fields for 32 years. When we had sand storms move in the wind would wear you out by the end of the day! 👍👍👍
You amaze me with your hikes. What adventures! Yeah, the wind can make it miserable...those bears are hungry in September. Glad you weren’t their snack!
Yep, any day you're not eaten by a bear is a good day 😁
Hard pressed to find a favorite part. Thanks for having me along. Beautiful camping, hikes, and goal met!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Hunkered down with that look on your face about the wind was the highlight of is one
Lol thanks for watching Marc

My favorite part was when you declared “this is a terrible place.”😀
It really was. Cold and just relentlessly windy! Thanks AD!
Way to sell it lol
I enjoyed this one, my favorite of your vids so far. Seems there will be a lot of time to watch a lot of camping and adventure vids for a while.
Be safe out there!!!
Postcard pretty. Thanks for the great hike and beautiful views!
Just started watching, have enjoyed all so far. Well narrated and edited! The scenery captured is awesome! Just subscribed!
Gorgeous scenery! Quite desolate up on top of Mt. Waas. Your wind sock makes a huge difference! I understood every word you said. Most times, in others’ videos, all I hear is noise, and I turn the sound down until it’s calmer. Good job!
You make the hike look easy, at 12,000 feet!!! Great video! Keep up the good work! Thank you
Evidently, the hip surgeries you had a couple of years ago were a great success. Didn’t know if we’d see you climbing mountains like these! Another wonderful video.....thank you!
Thanks Bette! The hip surgeries... Well... That's another story for another time 😕

Some mountains make their own weather systems and there is always wind. Usually when there is more than one range. Always windy.
Oh my! So glad for you when you got back to the car! Great views though!
Thanks for all that. It looked miserable. But so beautiful!!! Most people don't put that much into a whole season.
I think i might have aged a season or two in that day 😐
Enjoyed watching. I've never done much hiking in the mountains. We live in the east where it's quite flat. Hope to take an extended trip out west next spring and summer. Have been doing some walking hoping to hike some shorter mountain trails. Thanks again for sharing. 👍🙏
My favorite part/s of this and all your videos is you climbing the tall mountains so I don't have to. Thanks for sharing the beauty and adventure!
Happy to help, Gail 😁 Thanks for watching!
Wow that was quite the hike.. love hiking never know wants around the corner,
Just more wonderful things.✌🏼👍
Thanks!
Great hike. Thanks for including the statistics.
No problem, thanks for watching 👍
Great job on the video! The wind sound was not really noticeable since we could hear your voice over the wind. Thanks for taking us along on your hike.
Glad to hear it wasn't too bad. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful country thank you for sharing your adventures!
Thanks for watching, John!
Miners Basin was a delight from atop looking down, great views and informative.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
really peaceful videos , helps me fall asleep
Thank you for taking us with you again. Happy New year to you and your loved ones. Happy trails in the next year! Watch out for furry ones Bear Bait. Ha-Ha!
Thanks, Happy New Year!

I got worn out just watching that hike. Thanks for doing that one for me! Really nicely done video.
Thanks Charles!
Tristan, I hope you cooked up a hardy dinner after that hike! Thanks for taking us along! 😊
I think i just made a peanut butter sandwich 😁
Silly rabbit you are going to waste away! Next time those winds will whisk you off like Dorothy! 😃
Thanks for allowing me to tag along on your trips and hikes. Your means of travel and purpose are an inspiration.
Thanks Peggy!
Thanks for hiking that Mt. for me.
Dude you must be in great shape!? I love this site!

There are still plenty of places to camp around Moab, even in high season 😁 Thanks Robin!
Another excellent video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Steve 😁
You are blessed with some amazing places to go hiking. Here in NE Pennsylvania there aren't views like that.
It's true! Thanks John.
Putting GPS in notes allowed me to kick back and just enjoy. Thanks!!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for watching
Thank you for you show me you very strong clamp top to the mountain

Always a great adventure thank you
Enjoyed your hike - thanks for taking me to that terrible place. 😂
Thanks for tagging along 😁
Very beautiful sites, but the wind looked brutal! I was wondering what hiking boots or hiking shoes do you wear on these hikes. Thank you
I hike in trail running shoes called the La Sportiva Wildcats. Thanks for watching!
11:53 great hair lol
Always 😁
Courageous to go alone. Glad all was well.
Great hike man!!!

Camp in the beginning looks like it is near or around Castle Valley off the Dinosaur highway.
It's not near Castle Valley. It's about an hour and a half in the other direction from Moab. Thanks for watching.
@@SUVRVing that leaves 3 different directions to give no actual location. Great reply. Abbey is proud of you.
I give the exact coordinates in either this videos description or the previous one.

I’m really enjoying your videos. I’m wondering why you don’t hike with poles? Poles are pretty standard for us hikers in the Banff area. Keep on trekking! Jeff G.
Because it'd annoying to have poles and film at the same time 😁
I thought that might be the case. BTW, I’m also enjoying your fishing channel, and I generally use my Tenkara gear on smaller waters. What a blast!
How's that Frogg Toggs rain jacket? Would you recommend?
Beautiful hiking area! I have a cousin that lives in Vegas and he doesn’t hike (I do) but he goes there to do other winter sports.
Lots of good hiking in the Vegas area!
"This is a terrible place I'm gonna get outta here". 10:08
Whats the name of the campsite with all those white birch trees?
I don't know what you're referring to. Most of the places I camp don't have names.
Hope you carry bear spray!
Also, where do you find your beats?
The songs are from the RUclips Music Library
@@SUVRVing thank you!
Why is the first mountain that you climbed littered with flat rocks, all about the same thickness? I wonder what type of geological event occurred to create this rocky peak?
Not sure
I like ur hat....send me a link 😊.....oh, and u should probably carry bear spray there huh ?
What app were u using to tell us how long ot took and miles and elevation ?
For a second you can see a bear running (looks like towards the cameraman, ha) @2:14...little guy I think..
Yep, I noticed that as I was editing too. I didn't bother slowing it down or zooming in or anything because you still couldn't tell what it was. Thanks Robert!
Is it always windy at the top of those tall mountains?
Not always, but often
Great informative info.
That trail up the side of the mountain is sketchy as heck.
So what did you do when you saw all those bears? Reminds me of when I was camping at lake pleasant, az and ran into a pack of wolves. I about dookied my pants haha
Just kept hiking 👍
"Mama cubs" hahah that what happens when you encounter a wild bear@
Yep, took me a while to collect my thoughts!
Great armchair hike! 😁
What is that cage looking thing at Oowah lake?
Not sure. I'm a drain cover of some sort.
Awesome hike & views! What type of shoes do you wear on your hikes?

“It’s a terrible place” “I’m gonna get out of here” 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Lol that sentiment happens more than you might think!
Where is your bear spray?
In the car. I generally only carry it in grizzly bear country. Thanks for watching.
Wish I was there
Maybe the wind has died down by now 💨
What's the highest you've ever been?
18,000 feet in Nepal
Do you carry bear spray??
I carry it in grizzly bear country but not in black bear country
Do you ever worry about starting a rock slide on those loose shale rock mountain tops? Thanks for another amazing video.
Nope, I don't. That's not really something that happens on this kind of terrain. Thanks for watching!
New Sub, love your videos 👌
Thanks!
👍👍
I saw the bear moving away
Yep, you can see a dark shape moving, but unfortunately it isn't clear. Thanks for watching.
Why would you put vanlife when you dont have a van?
Because more people are searching for vanlife videos than SUV RVing videos, but I think my videos also appeal to people interested in "vanlife"
@@SUVRVing vanlifers are getting a bad name . your video is better then that.
It was a squirrel
Nope
take your significant other and camp near southpoint on Hawaii... do some fishing and camp grilling
