“Filming making is just a workout “ great words said right there mate. Stumbled on to your channel by accident. But so worth it. Thanks for the tips. Usually I’m Paulo in the shoots. Learning to respect the film maker more after this vid . Respect ✊
yeaaa it's a mental and physical workout for sure man
Man those running shots were so still, that's all the advertisement the gimble needs lol
Thanks man!
Nah its was a pretty blurry shot
@@zakhendo5061 I thought it was pretty impressive for a handheld gimble like that
The s5 has good ibis tho
Agreed! 😬😬
So helpful! Sometimes it's hard to know where you're stuck in the beginner mindset and this really helps to lay it out.
Dang. I'm a photographer and have never thought about film making, but you just made me want to do it 😂
That running tree transition though 👌🏻
Man, you're now the one RUclipsr I go to when learning filmmaking... cool thing you have here. Thank you!
Love the slight zoom after each tree, adds a lot.
You are 1 of the best people on RUclips! I've learned so much!
You're the best thanks mate
seen a lot of videos but i rather watch yours. your chill, creative professional.
Switching between the different mindsets is already immensely helpful, and the summary slides at the end help further enforce the points you made! The slides are super helpful indeed, even though they're a small portion of the lesson! Thank you, and keep up the good work!
This is great Thomas!
You are rocking it since you came back. Congrats!
It's amazing how much difference the little things in a shoot and editing make for the final product! Thank you!
Nice bro! Just one thing for beginners, would have been great to know when you were using Auto and when you were using Manual focus for the scenes.Really good tips though man💥.
Great video Thomas! looking forward to seeing more.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!! THOM AND PAULO AS MODEL AMAZING
Outstanding. What a great series. More please.
Awesome video and wow that last shot from lower angle was sick!!
Deyum, how did I not know your channel before! this stuff is incredible, such subtle differences, but changes soo much!
Hey Thomas, you have sold me on using a Gimbal! Tried to do walking shots, not running and they were very shaky. Now I can see the vast difference. Having gone through the Life Capture academy series this is good. It goes to another level. Anybody who wants to improve their filmmaking needs to do this! Great stuff!! Keep doing your videos man!
Cheers Ian - legend. See you in LCA 😁
Great video man. The part which I found very helpful was how you talked about what a beginner would do versus a pro, but you didnt stop there. At the end you showed what both ways would look like. Awesome!
Awesome demo and tips! I just purchased a gimbal as a result of watching this video.
……Look at that . There is so much hard work , lots of efforts and pain goes in making a film . And all these hard work goes in vain when film becomes flop/ or didn’t do well because of bad/weak story. I think the roll of writers has increase tremendously more than before. Thank you Thomas for making this videos . Your panting/gasp itself tells more about the hard work than words. We appreciate you for making this videos.
Just got a gimbal recently and found your tips very helpful. Thanks...and keep up the great work!
Brilliant, thank you very much for your effort, explanation and tips! Thormas!
Always learning with you. Thank you Thomas! ❤️
Love your tutorials I’ve been learning a lot love your work
Great beginner vs. pro comparison to help take shorts & videos to the next level - thanks man!
Just bought the Weebill S . This video is so helpfull!
Thanks Thomas for giving me me more tips on how I can become better than before
Always learns something new in your videos. Thanks!
It really takes a lot to keep me engaged because of my short attention span. Dude! You freaking nailed it!! I loved every second! I cannot wait to get my hands on a gimbal for my Sony A6400!
Excellent video and advice - Very well done and great work!
Very clear and powerful explanation. Thanks man 👍🏻😜
THANKS A LOT FOR THE VIDEO , JUST A BEGINNER TRYING TO LEARN

Love the way you do your videos bro, keep up the great work. What fps do you recommend shooting in when using a gimbal?
Thank you sir! I learned a lot from you! From Philippines. God bless 🙏
Oh you alive? Finally footage 🙄👍
Excellent tips. Just got the weebill S. Really pleased with it. Thank you.
It's great to see more videos of you! I love them and I always have the feeling that you are different to a lot of other youtubers out there in teaching filming skills. I think it is because I have the feeling that you are "honest". I don't know why but you do filming by heart and have ups and downs and share them with the community and that makes you authentic. Others are more kind of showers and superficial and I don't like them, however, they supply us with really good videos.
There is a another point I love: You have a Lumix S5! Imo it is an awesome cam but a lot of people (especially vloggers) complain about Panasonic AF and bla bla bla. Their only love is an A7SIII. Sure, Sony has a great cam, but the S5 has just some minor flaws compared to the A7SIII and it costs less than the half (4000€ compared to 1600€ in Austria). I think you got that point and in the end the s5 delivers more features for your money compared to a7siii. Maybe I am wrong, but I think you have the same economic thinking as I have and therefore chose the s5. The next thing I like about you! Thumbs up for this!
Thanks mate. Yup love the s5! Panasonic gifted me it which i'm very grateful for - but I use it as my main camera now and I think it's the best bang for buck atm. Appreciate your kind words.
Man this video is so helpful, thank you. As you can see from our content, videos are the weakest link. Learning so much from your videos and can’t wait to implement with our next session!

Another great video and good to watch as soon as you have uploaded ive started watching all yoyr videos from the beginning. Im so glad you didn't fall and damage your camera gear while doing the running shots. And just the minute I would just be happy to be able to film like the beginner sequence 😁👍
I'm glad too lol. Was sprinting!! Good luck

Hi Thomas Thanks for the video, very useful more of them would be great, are you mainly using manual focus for these shots?
Yep for these shots all manual focus 👊🏼
Such a valuable video. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Do you usually do 24fps for these types of action shots or are they 60 as well?
I want to say, "KUDOS". Very Nice & Simple...

I love this series about making more professional shots! Could You tell what Lumix did You use in this video?
nice video, you could make moves for pre-wedding or wedding videos
That's great! Thanks
You are the best!
Clicked the link for that gimbal. Saw the price. Had a seizure. Nice.
Cool video, why isthe background jumping on the hero shot?
Hey Alex great gimbal shots...I have just purchased RSC2....I find it hard orbiting a subject without the pan access wanting to sway....is there any tips or advice you can give?
I know this wasn't a focus for the video as it was focused on and teaching other important aspects of videography, I'm just wondering in regards to the features of the gimbal, when doing the truck shot where you mentioned locking the gimbal's "axis" in place (and gives the impression you're locking the pan and tilt axis only), would there have been a a way to lock the roll axis as well, or lock onto the subject instead of just locking the pan and tilt as shown at 08:49, so that you can keep your horizon level with the subject ?
Or to say the same thing in a less complicated way by asking more bluntly, is there a feature that would've fixed your horizontal alignment at 08:49 so the shot didn't look crookid?
