  • In this episode we show some of the challenges on the ranch that we have encountered recently. Good and bad occur and you have to learn to roll with the punches and keep going. The bison herd is doing really well. Our John Deere 5075 tractor popped off a tire and we damaged our water trough mowing. Things will get better.
Here on Blackacre Ranch we are building a bison ranch from scratch in East Texas. We have started ranching bison (i.e. buffalo) and will progress into other animals as the ranch grows. We are converting an old rundown church camp into a first generation Texas farm...profitable ranch that is.
We are a family with 6 kids. Our goals are to homestead the property, grow healthy food, and build good character along the way. We are new to homesteading and don't know much about it, but we are willing to share our struggles and journey as we learn how to homestead together. Think of this as homesteading for beginners where we are the beginners.

💕🌷🌷Ahh man, sorry for the loss of a dear friend, May God Bless, and for the other things in your life, one of my best friends always told me to "slow down", because things could get worse, but for "God Sakes Pray not", God Bless Us All 🌷🌷💕

I have been trying to slow down over these last few years. Once the house is built I think I can take a break

Jeff and Charla, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I grieve for you and with you as on June 6th my boyfriend passed away, a week before Thanksgiving a very long time dear friend passed, mid June last year a long time neighbor left us and a month and a half before that, mid April a very dear man who was my next door neighbor passed. I truly feel the loss y'all feel. 😥 prayers for you for a comfort that can only come from God.🙏 and if it's any consolation, I've done the oil cap thing 🤪

Thank you. It's part of life and we have to just value the time we have with the people around us while we can.
