FYI: I plan to make a few series of videos on this area of my land.. Clearing all the overgrowth and grading that hill so you guys can see the progress. Also don’t forget I’ll have some stump bucket videos coming again soon too
Thanks buddy! I am glad to be able to make videos again too, I missed talking to all of you guys as well. I am excited to get back out there and start clearing that patch of land right after the rivine.. should make for a good video also as people always enjoy watching the tractor clear land!
Thanks it’s good to be back! I missed hearing from all of you. Always a good feeling seeing all the familiar names back in the comments section. Hope you had a great weekend!
Thanks buddy! He’s a pitbull.. they are one of the most loyal breeds you can own! My first pitbull was a white one (if you watch my really early tractor videos you will see him in them) he unfortunately had to get put down at only 5 years old due to seizures.. it really sucked. Diesel (my black dog) is my second pitbull and he’s about 4.5 years old now.. maybe 5.. he’s been just as great of a dog as my first one.. and he loves other animals.. doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and is extremely friendly! Thanks for watching!
Thanks buddy! It is really beautiful back there, I love walking the dog back there also and it’s nice and secluded for the most part. Just all ton of upkeep and mowing.. the more land I open it the more work I give myself as far as maintaining is all but I enjoy it so it’s all good! Haha. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Eric! It’s great to be back. Love seeing all the familiar names in the comment section too! I’ll try to get another video out soon for you guys!
Hey Aaron, thanks for subscribing and leaving a comment! I do my best to try and remember each and everyone who leaves a comment so I can get to know you guys better. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, I’m excited to get back out there too and start clearing some of the land right behind that rivine. Should make for a great video as people always love watching that little tractor clear land. Hope you’re having a great week!
Hey buddy, just a suggestion. Now that you have that trench, put some non woven geo tech in that trench, fill it up with 3/4 stone on top of the geo tech you’ll never have a water problem again. Good job as always. 👍👍
I live in Pennsylvania. I recently bought a kioti tractor and am clearing my land also. That rear ballast really gives you the traction to bulldoze. Good work
Hi Dave! You’re not too far from me only living in PA! I travel to Erie PA at least once a year! Your right about the rear ballast, I tell people ALL the time what an absolute necessity it is on these small sub compact and compact tractors.. it really transforms them into a true tractor with the added weight and helps drive all that power into the ground so you can actually use it! Thanks for watching!
just put a 3rd function valve on my bx 25d backhoe and bought a grapple what a game changer thanks for video from a few years ago you did on how to install great kit from summit
Hey that’s great to hear! Having a grapple is a game changer for a tractor so I’m not surprised how impressed you are! I was the same way when I first got my grapple and was blown away with the amount of work I could do and how quickly I could get it done with the grapple. I have many videos using the grapple as well ..a long with a property cleanup job I did for a customer near the shoreline after a storm. You’d like that one! As for the summit 3rd function, I still feel it’s the BEST 3rd function money can buy for the bx.. and I have to this day not had a SINGLE issue with it! It’s held up like a champ and Iv had the hydraulics smoking hot more than a few times ! 😅
I am impressed that you could dig that with your tractor bucket! I guess you got more soil and less rock than I have! Nice to seem videos from you again!
Hey Nils! How you been buddy? I need to stop over at your channel and see what all you’ve been up to lately! Do you still have your excavator? I wish you lived near me I woulda had you come over and we coulda made a video together digging that trench! Haha. Some day I’ll be able to buy an excavator I hope!
@@BiffsEquipmentI have been very busy this year with a bunch of projects so less videos and RUclips than “normal”. It would be awesome to live over there and we would make a great team! Have you considered one of the cheap Chinese ones? The one Mike Festiva got seems pretty good for a Chinese one. Finding a used one should cheap I guess. Here they are much more expensive so I would rather spend more and get a real brand (like I did with my Komatsu)
@@NilsKall I completely agree! Would be a lot of fun. As for the Chinese excavators yes I would certainly get one. I have done a lot of research on them myself and found many of them to be well worth the price and comparable to other big brands.. they just keep better better too. Here in the USA more and more local Chinese dealers keep popping up which is also helping to bring price down and make it easier to get some. It’s also forcing the bigger company’s hands at lowering their prices which is always a good thing.
Glad to see you back! Your vids helped me out a bunch with operating my 1025r. Damned if I can get my FEL to cut/scrape dirt as easy as you make it. If you could do detailed vid on that it'd rock.
Thanks buddy! My father actually has a 1023e and so does his buddy (both machines Iv had on my channel quite a few times now.. good machines! I will certainly get to a video where I break down my steps and process for using the FEL. In the meantime you may want to check out the video I made called “Biffs video review” where I review an old video of mine and break down what I was doing with the loader and why. Hopefully that will help explain some!
@BiffsEquipment i watched that review vid. Put an hr into my back field, then grab a beer and really watched it again. Got more done in the last 90min then anytime before. You must finesse that blade angle scrapping big time. Doing that, upping to 3k rpm, and keeping the front wheels mostly in contact, worked like a charm! Thanks again! Dirts dry and soft, but I'm clearing established blackberries. Like, head level sitting on the tractor, footballs every 2-3ft.
Hi Mike. I have a bx 23s with backhoe didn't think I would use it much boy was I wrong. It digs down about 5 1/2 feet . Might want to look for a used backhoe attachment for yours ???????? cheaper than a excavator. Glad to see you back on you tube.
Hey Gary! Glad to see you in the comments again! Sorry I’m just seeing your comment. I originally did plan on buying a backhoe for my tractor back when I first got it but the issue is, if you don’t buy the tractor with the backhoe to start with then your kinda screwed because you would need to purchase all the framing for the backhoe to attach to your tractor before you can even buy a backhoe.. I priced it all out one time and it was around 9k to add a backhoe.. much more money than had you just bought the tractor with a backhoe from the dealer.. (and I bought my tractor used) so I didn’t have that option. So I figured out that it is actually cheaper or near the same cost to just buy an excavator outright as a second machine.. plus I’ll be able to have a bit more versatility being that it will be a seperate machine vs being on the back of my tractor .. been wanting to find a cheap excavator for years but whenever I do I don’t ever seem to have the money when one comes up.. One of these days I’ll find one tho! If I ever buy a new BX I’ll be sure to add the backhoe from the start!
That’s a good idea Trevor! I may have to do that at some point.. maybe next time I get a load of stone I’ll get some for a French drain. Thanks for watching!
Hey Ron! So the forklift I still have.. I thought about selling it a few times but just can’t bring myself to sell such a nice piece of history.. I don’t use it all that much but when I need it.. I NEED it.. so for the 2-3 times I use it in a year it pays for itself you know? I recorded videos of the restoration progress but like an idiot I never edited them and uploaded them because I felt that people didn’t wanna see it that much.. I should have just uploaded them tho as I have hours and hours of footage still on my pc of all the work I did to that thing. Hope you’re doing well Ron!
Id put native grass and forbs seed in that trench and instead of water just running off and eventually eroding things away itll be able to be absorbed into the soil the water nature designed it all to work. We yank out so many native plants and plant shallow rooted grasses these days that the ground cant absorb the water like it used to.
That’s a great idea and may work well in some areas.. but in this area the ground is already so wet and saturated I don’t know how much difference it would make.. my goal is to get the water farther down the hill so that I can use more of my land that’s up front near my house.. once I’ve got cleared the areas I can use maybe I will do this to help soak up what’s left near the end of the tench/ditch. I agree there isn’t enough people planting native plants anymore!
evaluating an oportunity to swap my BX2370 (same as yours ) for a BX2670 of similar vintage and hours. Thoughts on is it worth it. I will need to addres the 3rd function and rear remotes on the 2670 if I want to keep that functionality. Also would swap by ssqa to the new maching. How much would you value picing up a few PTO hp?
Hmm that’s a tough one. It really comes down to how much you’re gonna have to pay to do the trade in or whatever it is you’re doing. If it’s costing you very little.. as in under $1,000 then it might be worth it as you’ll retain a bit more resale value with the higher hp bx.. but if you don’t plan on using many rear PTO attachments then your not really gonna notice any difference in performance. You may notice a slight improvement if you’re constantly lugging the motor hard by pulling, pushing, or mowing heavy lawn.. but if you don’t have those issues now then you won’t see a big difference. If I were you I’d only trade if it wasn’t a lot of money, and If the 26hp machine is in better condition or shape than your current 23hp model. Condition is huge so if it’s got less scratches/dents , rust, or damage then it will be a no brainer.. especially if it’s got less hours. Now if you DO plan on using many rear PTO implements then the trade may be worth spending more than $1,000 to upgrade.. it really just comes down to how important having that extra power is to YOU.. and if you feel like you’ll be able to utilize that extra power. Also don’t forget to take into account switching over your rear remotes, coupler, and any other things you’ve added to your current tractor that you’ll be swapping to the new one. Hopefully I was able to give you a few things to think about to help you out! Best of luck!
