@@sathish28The Union Govt. can't just use a language everywere as a linking language between states which a vast majority of people can't understand. The beauty of our country lies in its diversity. If we kill every small identities it'll just make our country lose its awesomeness. Indian has more than 2000 speaking languages and they cannot impose a single language to others. While English as a second language serves way more than Hindi, why should a non hindi speaking man should waste himself learning another language providing smaller use? Thus, English can be better linking language between states (every state) while everyone preserve their own mother tongue♥️ Just think of it brother! You'll be justified.
@@theboyofjoyy you just contradicted yourself in your own statement. You said, "a language as a linking language" and then you said "impose a single language", "kill every small identity". How does learning a language which belongs to India, just for connecting purposes, (and not for usage in works related to state level), destroys individual identity, but learning a language which was ACTUALLY imposed on us by colonisers, and allowing it to overpower your pop culture, cinema, literature, doesn't destroy individual identities. If a language is to be used just as link language and not official works of individual states, how will it destroy Individual identities? OP logic. You said Hindi has little use, fair enough, sounds bit more logical. But tell me, do all people of India or Southern India for that matter just grow up and fly to foreign country? I don't think so. Helping people learn a domestic link language increases mobility of labour and capital throughout the geography of the country. You advocated English for being link language. But I don't think you can gaurantee that everyone can understand English, can you? Or can you gaurantee that a person living in rural Tamil Nadu will be able to understand Telugu or vice versa with Andhra Pradesh? I don't think so, accept borders like chittoor and all. But from J&K and Ladakh to Telangana people don't find Hindi to be that difficult to understand. barring five states of India, Hindi is understood even in the rural regions of other states including North East, as far as Arunachal Pradesh . In fact in some parts of Telangana and Karnataka, even rural population understands Hindi. I'm not batting for Hindi because I speak it, had Tamil been spoken and understood by an actual vast majority I would have been batting for Tamil as a link language. And I'm still not advocating any kind of imposition but merely stating facts. Your argument typically sounds like, "I love my mom (even if as a political card), I'll kick my mother's sister, my aunt, and I'll hug a third auntie just because she was introduced to me by a white uncle".

Awadhi, Bhojpuri, and Braj are dialects of Hindi. I know that because my grandparents speak Braj, and I speak standard Hindi, and they are totally interintelligible. Only an ignorant fool will classify them as two distinct languages. Braj is just a slight variation of Hindi. And so is the case with awadhi, Bhojpuri, and a couple more dialects. If we start classifying languages and dialects like that, American, British, Canadian, Australian, indian, and south african dialects of English should also be considered as seperate languages. Which is just plainly ridiculous. Why the hell are some people trying to stop hindi from being standardized? Even the English language has changed a lot since Shakespeare's time. Why don't you wanna let hindi change from that of kabirdas? Let Standard Hindi strive ahead, because, had British opposed the standard modern English in the name of "preserving" the old English, their language would never had become an international one. Even china , a rising power is standardising mandarin and progressing. Chinese are not trynna stop natural convergent evolution of their language in the name of "saving" dialects. Only Arabs have a situation where most of them are not switching to the standard form. And that is not really a good thing for their own future. If , here in India, we keep declaring (like we already are) each dialect (of Hindi, and to a lesser extent, Punjabi) as a separate language, we will end having a hell lot of trouble. Infact, you may call it an overstatement, but by my own experience, I can say that gujrati is actually a dialect of Hindi. It was classified as a separate language to weaken us (divide and rule policy of British era). Yes. Not only religious, but severe linguistic division is still going on. So please recognise yourself as a Hindi speaker if you speak any of it's dialects. Jai Hind

Vannakam. Great effort. I always wanted to learn about India in all its cultural and linguistic glory and as Hindi speaking person, always wondered how difficult it would be learn Tamil and whether I can learn it. I did pick up a few words while I was in Chennai (in 1995) but since I moved to US in early 1996, other life priorities took over. Google Translate helps but formal learning is better. Thanks to you video, it seems to me that learning basic Tamil would not be difficult as there is pattern to it. Singular/Plural words have a pattern ( as soon as you put gal at the word it sounds like it is becoming plural). Similar sound of E or A defines the distant (this or that). Seems like if you nav N sound at the end, it would indicate Male, if L sound at end, it means Female. I think we should all learn the languages of India. We have lived for thousands of year together and it would be good idea to be multi-lingual. I would suggest command on 4-5 languages at least. Learn your Mother Tongue for your own cultural heritage, Learn English for work/International exposure, Learn Sanskrit and Tamil to understand two major influences on history of India and at least one language of the the North East. Thank you. Nandri.
Tamil nadu people are very hard working people. They are very simple in their life style, tamil is an ancient language in the world, first classical language of India, its an offshoot of all dravidian languages, it's an official language in Singapore and Malaysia. National language in sri Lanka. Spoken in Mauritius and Fiji, I love tamil nadu style food and film industry, kollywood is very creative mind industry, well preserved pilgrimage centres, we can see smart mind and physically strong people. People are very amiable with other state and country people

learning just to watch tamil movies, completely lost faith in hindi movies, jokes apart this is the best tamil lesson in youtube.
Thank you. Nandri.
I know three languages (Hindi,English and my mother tongue bhojpuri).
It is my goal to learn Tamil and then Sanskrit.
All the best, keep watching and keep learning.
