In languages of Aryan family ए, ऐ, ओ, औ are considered as longer vowels or Dirgha Swar (दीर्घ स्वर) and ए and ओ don't have shorter counterparts or Hrsva Swar (ह्रस्व स्वर). But in all the languages of Dravidian family there are shorter counterparts for ए and ओ. In Devanagari Short ए is written as ऎ and short ओ is written as ऒ. So it will become ऎ, ए, ऐ, ऒ, ओ, औ (எ, ஏ, ஐ, ஒ, ஓ, ஔ). Just for knowledge of viewers.

So, one must know where and when to use what sound. This follows a very natural simple set of rules. So, anything written in Tamil script should follow these rules (but due to exposure in English language an average Tamil person could read with correct pronunciation. Ex: Gandhi written in Tamil script as காந்தி. It should be read as Kāndhi only; never as Kānthi or Gānthi or Gāndhi. But due to the exposure in other languages like English and the influence of news channels an average educated Tamil person (according to the context) will automatically recognise it and read it as Gāndhi. 1. Kxxx, xxKKxx, xxɡ, xங்ɡ & xxɡxx 2. Cxxx /Çxxx, xxCCxx, xxÇ, xஞ்ɟx & xxÇxx 3. ʈxxx, xxʈʈxx, xxɖ , xண்ɖx & xxɖxx 4. t̪xx, xxt̪t̪xx, xxd̪, xந்d̪x & xxd̪xx 5. pxxx, xxppxx, xxb, xம்bx & xxbxx Examples: 1. கண், பக்கம், பகை, கங்கு, & பகல் 2. சிவப்பு, பச்சை, பசை, தஞ்சம் & வீசம் 3. டxxxx, கட்டம், கடை, பண்டம் & படம் 4. தறி, பத்து, விதை, சந்தை & புதையல் 5. பண், கப்பல், சபை, கம்பு & கபம். Generally, words can only start with some set of consonants {க, ச, ஞ, த, ந, ப, ம, வ, யா வரிசை} & vowels {அ to ஔ}. So, டxxxx and such are grammatically incorrect but still words from other languages are written freely.

Rules for pronounciation:
Unlike other language scripts, Tamil script uses single letter {க, ச, ட, த, ப} to represent more than one sound (those sounds will be having same place of articulation).
1. Kxxx, xxKKxx, xxɡ, xங்ɡ & xxɡxx
2. Cxxx /Çxxx, xxCCxx, xxÇ, xஞ்ɟx & xxÇxx
3. ʈxxx, xxʈʈxx, xxɖ , xண்ɖx & xxɖxx
4. t̪xx, xxt̪t̪xx, xxd̪, xந்d̪x & xxd̪xx
5. pxxx, xxppxx, xxb, xம்bx & xxbxx
Examples:
1. கண், பக்கம், பகை, கங்கு, & பகல்
2. சிவப்பு, பச்சை, பசை, தஞ்சம் & வீசம்
3. டxxxx, கட்டம், கடை, பண்டம் & படம்
4. தறி, பத்து, விதை, சந்தை & புதையல்
தங்களின் இந்நற்சேவை தொடரட்டும்! நன்றி!

Very nice mam and sir I am being MSc students in pure Hindi English language trying to learn Tamil.
Mam...first I thank you...for this video...really u r doing good work
Great
Difficult language but ur teaching way is so immpresive
Hindi is very easy even for non hindi people. I am from Bengal and as a Bangali, I am comfort with either hindi or english beside my mother toungue.
Bangla is very closely related to Hindi being the language of the same linguistic family. Infact , if one can simply catch the pronunciation then 50% Bangla is nothing but mixture of several words of Purbiya Hindi dialects.
Really superb
Actually i m married and i am born and brought up in gujarat.Great i had start learning it today i will give my best to learn this lets see❤
Wish you all the very best Sarika konar ji....It is my pleasure to give you what you want...you have the zeal and spirit in you and you will succeed...Best Wishes...Enjoy Tamil
