I personally like basic standard videos compared to his “movies” with all his friends and a narrative which kinda kills if not absolutely destroys the pacing of the video. Like imagine him talking about the game and going in depth about an aspect of it and randomly we get 3 mins straight of his “movie”

I never undstood the early access thing. It either means that the publisher is holding the game hostage for some extra cash or they are giving the early buyers a slightly unfinished game. The first version of the game is often the worst even if it's by a narrow margin.

Atlus' day one editions for their 3DS games were insane. Soundtrack CDs, art books, all the stuff you'd expect in a Collector's Edition. And now they're impossible to find and Atlus never re-released them. :(
It's a shame I didn't get any of these Atlus Day One Editions but fortunately I got most of the games when most of Atlus's games on the 3DS eshop were put up for sale.

As Scott said in the video, its how they trick you reach high sales for the game on day one before the game gets criticized to hell for any bugs/glitches/negative reviews lol
Oof, I felt this one. My first (or at least first in recent memory) day one purchase was LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Deluxe Edition) and... yeah, it was rougher than it should’ve been. The DLC has since come out and most of the day one bugs have been fixed, but I’m now of the opinion that any review that gushes about it and gives it a high score was paid for or blinded by emotions.
Don't forget that most games get a discount in about half a year these days if not earlier.
Well to be fair it's not like you are forced to play it day one. You can wait and still keep all the day one extra stuff

@@lazyavatar2479 to be fair 1/2 Genie Hero is so good, it justifies being a fan of the series as a whole. It was my first shantae game but I just got the digital version on the eshop. Didn’t need trinkets to become a fan. 🥰
I think all launch editions should come with the Dark Souls III soundtrack included. It worked so well for Dark Souls III, why haven’t other companies picked up the trend?
And it has a hella sound track. I don't see any reason why anyone wouldn't want to listen that.

If anyone in here still hasn't seen UHF I would highly recommend it. It's a movie Weird Al made in 1989. Still holds up, despite UHF stations not really being a thing anymore. Lot of riffs on 80s movies and entertainment. You can watch it for free on RUclips and I believe other streaming services.
I can definitely hear Scott in a few scenes in that movie.

Is it just me or has Scott wound down on his videos this year? He used to put out content every week. So far, he’s only put out new 4 videos this year.
I always looked forward to what was new from “the Woz” on Sunday nights. Now, it’s just looking and waiting and hoping.
All I’m saying is I miss all the stuff we used to get. I’m sure he has other things going and I hope he is doing well. There must be more to his life than making videos for RUclips.

He specifically said that last season took a lot out of him, and that he wanted to take extra time per video to make sure that it met his standards. Plus he mentioned that it made him sad that his entire life was being consumed by RUclips. He said somewhere that (and I'm paraphrasing) "It made me sad to look at my phone and see that everything was about work."

The best day one edition I got was the Yakuza: Remastered Collection. It came in a really nice case, with two discs, and unique cover and interior art. And it also came with a sticker, and an empty PS3 case for Yakuza 5. Which was a game that never got a physical western release. So it was so nice to put the case with my physical Yakuza 3, 4, and Dead Souls PS3 games.

I honestly had no idea that anyone was putting out "launch editions" of their games. I'd heard the term "Day One Edition" before but didn't really know how those were different from the regular editions. For once I'm happy that I'm old and don't understand things.
I always tought that "launch editions" were just "preorder editions" for people that didn't like those.
I also noticed the European versions have very different boxart. But this time much less stupid!

^ There. Now you have been formally introduced to Day One Editions.
What you used to buy, when there was only one version ever sold, is the Game of the Year Edition, or Gold Edition.
The Ultimate Edition is the same thing, but with director’s commentary tracks.
I think Day One editions and Launch editions can be great treats for loyal and long time fans. From Software has done that with multiple of their games at this point, the first batches of copies made for launch + leftovers are a bit more special than the regular boxed copy coming later down the line. Woz highlighted the Dark Souls 3 Day One edition, which didn't cost any more than the regular copies that came later, but the day one version had a physical soundtrack CD, which is a pretty damn nice gift for the fans (since it's literally given to you with the game at no additional cost. Consider that often game soundtracks that get released later can be very pricey, as I think Nier Automata's soundtrack was about as costly or more expensive than the game itself, at least last time I checked). Elden Ring had a bit more chonky box with some extra tat but no soundtrack CD this time, and I recall at least Dark Souls 2 and Demons Souls also had something similar to a Day One edition. I think DeS only had a different cover art, while DaS2 at least had a steelbook. Dark Souls 1 possibly also had something like that.
I just think stuff like that is neat, especially if the game developer has proven to be reliable.
I mean it's basically why not. If you buy games as they come out for full price - might as well get something extra. It's not like you must go out of your way (if you way is not waiting for a discount)
