Jimi was a victim of both the time (psychedics, drugs and, to a lesser degree, booze), and his manager. It has been written in many books that he had a high tolerance for most drugs he took, and had a low tolerance for booze. But, in my opinion, it really was his manager, Mike, that held him back and stifled his growth. Had Jimi be able to regain Chas as his manager and over-see-er, and put Mike in the background (where he belonged), he likely would have made it through these trying times. He really needed a couple of months off, away from everyone except those close to him, to regroup.
Jimi Hendrix was murdered the night he was celebrating the end of his contract with Mike Jefferies and Yameta Music. Hendrix' money was tied up in the dope trade. Jefferies was MI-6.
He's in She'ol awaiting the resurrection and judgement. He does have a conscious down there though, according to scripture, possibly accusing his k!ller(s). Take care.
There's something haunting about that intro to Hey Baby, but at the same time majestic - he struggles thru it as tho he wants to leave this last statement w/ the crowd,a song very close to his heart, only quitting when he had to sing, & knew he couldn't!
Jimi's obviously real "loose" at this show but it makes for a fascinating listen to a die hard Hendrix fan. You kinda get a different dynamic to what he's playing, more open and simple yet still fascinating and times spell bounding in it's own way... sometimes simply hanging on.. Still a cool show imo. Very similar tone to Isle of Wight too, very interesting to see him bounce back the next night in Copenhagen... Jimi definitely sounds drunk or possible stoned on the sleeping pills it is said he took. I've read numerous accounts of Jimi being seen taking sleeping pills around this time in his life. It is also said he liked to push thru the sedating effect to enjoy the high... This combined with the results of his passing (9 Vesperex) it seems to me at this poiht in time Jimi enjoyed the buzz of sleep medication and sadly aligns with the supposed events of his passing. It's sad, he was being reckless no doubt and got himself into a tragic accident (imo after reading numerous accounts of the last months/weeks of Jimi's life I tend to think it was indeed an accident, I'm open minded about the "Jeffery" plot but his passing lines up with witnessed behavior in the previous months of his passing).
Yea he had like 6 days of concerts in a row but even sick he played tremendous. This show was cut after 3 songs and the following concerts he was also sick you can really hear it in his voice on the concert in Berlin 2 days after this. Aside from this show he stuck it out and still played great in my opinion.
This may be a bad night for Mr Hendrix, but DAMN Jimi Hendrix still kicking that ass ,y'all say what cha want, That's my story and I'm eternally sticking to it.
In my opinion 2 WORLD CLASS act guitarists - Albert King and Jimi Hendrix. Wish they had gotten together for a sound session. I know that Jimi wanted to ...
The problem there was that Jimi was exhausted and and Billy Cox was struggling because of some bad acid somebody gave him the day before. Things were just so bad that Jimi just decided to cancel the rest of the concert, but planned to come back and give a free one. Unfortunately, he died before he could.
+Steven Flinchbaugh the real reason is this Jimi Hendrix met some Swedish friends and went for some drinks which he was not at all good at drinking was his weak point soo... this is the result

I think the lack of rest, tension between him and Mitch and his love hate relationship with wanting a marriage and child really wore down on him this tour. Just like Faye said “people just wouldn’t leave him alone, before or after”
For all those who say this was a bad show are you aware he was seriously ill at the time. Which is why there are hardly any songs and collapsed backstage
@tomh1953 is correct. Hendrix had taken several mandrax before this show and that’s why his playing wasn’t very good. He bounced back for Copenhagen the next night and played a great show.
That´s right ! Next day was Jimi as we know him again .When you are 27 you still recover very fast from yesterday´s excesses and that was a normal behaviour those days for a rock band on tour .
Yea it's weird this show was very rough then the next day he sounded great. You could tell he gave the Copenhagen concert his all because the following concert in Berlin his voice was totally shot and very horsey. Though the music was still very good in my opinion but yes the Cop. Denmark show is great.

Die Antwort lautete : Jimmy hat nicht „DAS„ bekommen was er brauchte !?
Hendrix is my idol... But this was sad and difficult to listen to. Especially since the end was near. He died 2 weeks later. Only a 24 minute show. ''At the Atlantic Hotel he did interviews for Danish journalists but appeared tired and confused. According to the Univibes ‘Jimi in Denmark’ booklet (excuse), He had a cold and was trembling and sweating and he took “some” Mandrax (powerful sleeping pill/pain-killers) in order to get some rest, but instead of sleeping he got stoned (one is enough to make you stoned and clumsy). The audience had to wait about three quarters of an hour for Jimi to appear and when he did, he was off his face on something [the effects of Mandrax fit his behavior exactly]. He performed only three numbers, went back stage while Mitch took a drum solo and didn’t return. Jimi was reported as “Staggering among the beer bottles backstage” prior to his appearance and of dropping his pick several times on stage. This according to Noel’s story about a 1967 gig, also in West Germany, would make it the third time (at least) that Jimi had left the stage early due to being too wrecked to continue.'' crosstowntorrents.org/archive/index.php/t-4396.html

It's a shame that this wasn't a longer show. This is one of the best sounding Hendrix audience tapes I've heard.
Even as drunk or tired that he was that night he still sounds better than most of the guitar players today
