Now we're talking 2018! I'm drooling with the first one... I'm a poor old mexican rockstar... so I ride a 1986 FXR! This Roadglide would be my dream bagger. 🤘😎
How's it going Matt ? Love the new colors and the 21" wheels on the CVO Road Glides and the new sound system on the CVO Street Glides. I'll be through soon.
I had spoken to my dealer here in Cleveland a month before the HD dealer meet in LA that I would be texting him the night of the meeting to reserve my CVO SG if they made one for 18. As soon as I saw the colors there was only one choice for me. I put 22k down to be first in line on a Dark Alloy/Black Denim CVO SG. Now I am just waiting for the stork to deliver my new baby. I am however going to invest in the extended warranty because of the 117 being only oil cooled. I have not been able to find any official HD statement regarding why water was removed from the M8 117 this year.
I got to see the Gunship Grey Road Glide... I FINALLY got to see it in person yesterday, OMG! The Gunship Grey Road Glide model look 10xs BETTER in-person!!!🤪 I almost had to change out my drawers! The grey and black colors compliment each other nicely, and the red stripes on the rocker box covers is such as a nice detail! I couldn't stop walking around this model. There is one drawback, the bike's beauty is DEFINITELY reflected in the price!🤢 At $40K for the Gunship Grey Road Glide, a potential buyer could roll out the door with a used Sporty and Street Bob, with cash left over! Yikes! Great overview and walk around Matt. Semper Fi! 👊⚡⚡
That is a beautiful bike! However, i'm concerned about the paint quality. How wil it look after 10-15 years of daily driving in all conditions? Snow, rain, wet, sunshine..you name it. I will always ride.
Love the new RG's but I've never been a "Big Wheel" fan. Other than the fender would I run into suspension geometry issues if I switched to a more traditional 18" or 19" set up? Great job on the videos Matt!!! Much appreciated!
Thank you Matt for your videos! I fell totally in love with the road glides this year. I mean... those are GORGEOUS LOOKING BIKES. I like all 3 colours!
Waiting patiently for next week. My local dealer is getting an Orange Lava/Dark Alloy and I'm trading up. What an amazing looking bike! I do wish it had lowers on it though.
Sweet video! I just bought the 2017 RG Special a few weeks ago and now I'm wishing I would've been more patient. That gunship gray is insane! But overall they're all beautiful!
Yeah dude the Street Glide is the 1 that intreeged me. How did they get 6 speakers on it? Are the speakers any good? I heard a harly with a stereo once as the guy started it up but meh it wasn't something I'd enjoy using. Sure I'm not gona be a nob and expect Bose or some hing, but I did expect more than what I heard.
Love the CVO roadglide , Orange Lava is my Favorite , I fear I do not need to go to my local Toy Store cause I has no wifey to STOP ME that being said How does it handle on the twisty stuff with a 21 upfront. I live in Tennessee Valley area of Alabama very curvey here so handling very important thanks I think Matt
That grey color is absolutely beautiful. People (I mean companies) under estimate the beauty of simplicity. Grey and black, both shiny, genius, and the orange details, oh, who ever came out with the concept damn, buy that men a beer right now, it seriously looks like something straight out of a videogame, it looks custom but miles away from tacky - which is how "custom" usually ends up -.
Only complain if I had the money is the front wheel, I hate the over the top out of proportion ridiculous ghetto looking 21", that is a trend I am really hoping goes away quick, those low rider bagers always make me cringe.
Matt does your dealership have to put miles on the bikes before they are allowed to go on the showroom? Reason I'm asking my local dealership Wildcat in London, KY says they have to put 11 miles on the bikes before they can put them up for sale. I would like to buy one right out of the crate but didn't know if that was possible. Thanks for the videos and the work you put into your channel. You're def the best on youtube in my opinion.
+zthang The technician is required to test ride the bike. To my knowledge there isn't a minimum of 11 miles. The factory also puts on about 3 miles most of the time as well. Typically our bikes have about 5-10 miles when they are sold new.
Great video as usual Matt. Nothing in the '18 touring line that will have me parting with my '16 Road Glide Ultra and '17 Road King. If they would have come out with the Road Glide Special in the same green they did the Road King Special, I might have been tempted. I do need to see if my local dealer has the new Softails on the floor yet. Their website doesn't show any.
Hi Matt. Thanks for the update! Can you tell me the riding feel or difference between the 2018 Road Glide 19" front and the 21' front from the CVO? There must be some. It must make the bike steering response a bit slower but a nice straight line solid feel? Love the Gunship Gray but wish it would come with a pillion of sorts for my wife...Oh I see! they took it off and it's in the left saddlebag!
I have a '15 CVO RGU and had a 2011 before it. If that's a CVO, they've gotten rid of the wet heads with the M8, and there are no lower fairings and no tour pack (or at least I didn't see removable hardware on these bikes. It looks like it's more of a hot rod than a touring bike per se. I like the hot rod look, but it doesn't favor two-up riding long distance for us older folks, and don't they already have this configuration in the Street Glide? I don't like the gunship grey, but I'd have to see it in person. I also don't like the striping patterns on the red or the black, but the colors aren't bad. I think I like the black earth, but again, the pin striping is weird, plus no tank badge except on the Grey? What's up with that? And then they put that cheesy LONG HD logo text decal on each side of the sharknose. Don't like that either. These are top of the line CVO's and should stand out with the graphics and paint and the decals or metal badges. Remember the 2012 Street Glide tank badge? Now that was a tank badge worthy of a CVO! As to the good, I really like the blacked out engines and extended bags. Got to admit, the engine is very good looking, and I like the mini-engine guard, but now there's no option for lowers for cold weather riding either. There are a lot of problems with the '15's but if HD keeps going in this direction, I may look harder at an Indian.
Great video like always Matt. You're right about the gray. Either you love it or you don't. I was it don't but its now growing on me. I saw this video on my Samsung TV and The gray bike looks awesome super shiny. Lol
Hey Matt, I have a feeling you may get this Gunship Grey color 😉 Very nice color but no twin cooled this year on CVO Street Glides and CVO road glides ?
Don Quixote They probably put a external oil cooler on this bike ( like the standard bikes have ) . I know the 17 CVO s do not have a external oil cooler ontop of the dual cooling..
Damnit I should have said that. Pinning your comment. NO TWIN COOLED ENGINE THIS YEAR!! They do have the cooling benefits of the Milwaukee 8's Oil cooling system that circulates around the heads.
Maybe they are planning to introduce stage kits for CVO bikes. It was difficult with water cooled heads. It's like you buy a $45000 top bike and you don't have any motor upgrade options, while somebody on a 107 bike can increase it to 114 and go up to stage 4, which will in the end make more power than the CVO.
Why did HD drop the water cooling on the 18 CVO SG and CVO RG? Is there any kind of performance hit for doing so? It seems odd to go up in cubic inches and reduce the cooling.
+David Gierman I thought that was interesting too. I'll be doing a test ride and pay extra attention to that. The oil cooling system the M8 has is effective at keeping the temps down. We will see if this system keeps up with the 117 CI
A long range cruiser without a windshield letting the wind beat you in the face is a no can do. HD at the minimum should have a 7 inch screen on the street glides and road glides.
They want you to spend some money over their parts counter. It`s only about 6 screws to change and they get to screw you again for the bigger windshield.
I like all 3 of them colors. Expensive as they are I believe it's worth every penny in the end because you get so much. I only wish I could afford a CVO.
KokomoJoe Ha! No, not for me man. I Hartley listen to music in the car, I'm definitely not going to start on the bike. Those speakers rob space from the already small panniers as well. Great looking bike but it's a poseurs tool, not a user.
Hey there Matt. I'm lovin the Road Glide CVO. But I'm also a music addict. Will the 2 less speakers on the RG leave me wanting to change the engine guard and install fairing lower/speakers on an already 40 Grand bike??
According to the P&A Catalog the new 21 inch wheel isn't compatible with lower leg fairings. So unless someone figures out a "Hack" then you cant have the lowers on this bike with that wheel.
Good video, can't have the colors I like the very year. Lol. I understand the direction the company is going and why, but......lots of chrome and pearl/ metal flake paints are for me.
+Sean Kaschmitter Yes. Only if your bike was shipped from the factory with the 114. The stroke is longer in the CVO 114 bikes. You can't get a 107 to a 117
No Anniversary Road Glide for the 115th Anniversary? The Motor Company has made a Anniversary Road Glide for every Anniversary except for the 115th Anniversary. The Motor Company should fire the Marketing Department head but doubt they will.
Kenneth Wise not sure I'm following your logic. This is the 2018 model year. If they come out with one Spring of 2018 it would still be an anniversary model. Not saying this will happen but H-D has come out with models this way before. The first CVO dark Ultra comes to mind...
I love Harleys, and love the Road Glide, but that gray is too bland for my tastes. I saw a custom paint job on a car that was a blend of blue and gray, it was called battleship gray and I dug that but this is just not what I think of when I think Harley. Maybe out in the sunlight it would look better because I have noticed flourescent lights don't show colors truly.
Now we're talking 2018! I'm drooling with the first one... I'm a poor old mexican rockstar... so I ride a 1986 FXR! This Roadglide would be my dream bagger. 🤘😎
Gunship Grey looks absolutely gorgeous.
In the Navy we'd call that Battleship Grey, and yes that baby is gorgeous.
Yeah, the only thing missing is aircon. :-)
That's one nice color
How's it going Matt ?
Love the new colors and the 21" wheels on the CVO Road Glides and the new sound system on the CVO Street Glides.
I'll be through soon.
This gray looks really nice. Some matching orange striping would go well on this to pick up the other details.
Shit brown may go well with piss yellow but neither of those would look good with grey.
That Road Glide is a beauty. I have never riden one, but I hear they are one of the best touring bikes ever. Love the page, keep up the good work.
Those are three of the most beautiful bikes I've ever seen. Sure puts my 2010 RG to shame, but I still love her.
Not a fan of the Road Glides, but damn those look amazing. Harley Davidson really knocked it out of the park this year!
I got to see the Gunship Grey Road Glide... I FINALLY got to see it in person yesterday, OMG! The Gunship Grey Road Glide model look 10xs BETTER in-person!!!🤪 I almost had to change out my drawers! Semper Fi! 👊⚡⚡
That grey is sick. I'm doing a respray on my Road Glide this winter, and this is going to be the color.
That is a beautiful bike! However, i'm concerned about the paint quality. How wil it look after 10-15 years of daily driving in all conditions? Snow, rain, wet, sunshine..you name it. I will always ride.

Great job on the videos Matt!!!
Much appreciated!
Great vid as usual. That gunship grey is cool as cool can be. Looking foreward for more reviews and testrides of the new lineup.
Dear Matt, please let the RG CVO be the first 2018 Bike you do a detailed rundown video on. Thanks haha
Road Glider
They have s few anniversary bikes
Thank you Matt for your videos! I fell totally in love with the road glides this year. I mean... those are GORGEOUS LOOKING BIKES. I like all 3 colours!
Jerome Vanden Eynde same. I love the CVOs this year.
Waiting patiently for next week. My local dealer is getting an Orange Lava/Dark Alloy and I'm trading up. What an amazing looking bike! I do wish it had lowers on it though.
Lowers won't fit with that 21 inch wheel.
Yep, I found that out a couple days ago. A bit disappointing, but still..
Sweet video! I just bought the 2017 RG Special a few weeks ago and now I'm wishing I would've been more patient. That gunship gray is insane! But overall they're all beautiful!

+TC Calvo yea. It comes with a passenger pillion. I'll comment on the 21 inch wheel when I review it. I'm sure it doesn't handle as good as the 19
Gunship gray all the way. Beautiful bike!
I have a '15 CVO RGU and had a 2011 before it.

nice work Matt... thanks for, these informative vids.. super interesting for those of us who aren't gonna get to see the, for some, time yet
Nice job Matt, your reviews are top notch. Thanks
Absolutely love it pretty pricey
Great video like always Matt. You're right about the gray. Either you love it or you don't. I was it don't but its now growing on me. I saw this video on my Samsung TV and The gray bike looks awesome super shiny. Lol
Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't that have 6 speakers? Looks like two speakers up front, two tweeters up front, and one on each bag lid.
I love the road glide these 2018s are great looking but all I see is a nice paint job an lil odds and ins...
beautiful bike. will be my next purchase. Thanks for the video Matt.
Where can I purchase that windshield Matt? Would it fit my 2019 roadglide FLTRX ??
Hey Matt,
What's the msrp on the 2018 CVO Road glide ?
Beautiful bike !!
The '18s are already 117. Does that mean the engines are not upgradable?
Once again great video Matt. Thanks!
Hey Matt, I have a feeling you may get this Gunship Grey color 😉
Very nice color but no twin cooled this year on CVO Street Glides and CVO road glides ?
Don Quixote They probably put a external oil cooler on this bike ( like the standard bikes have ) . I know the 17 CVO s do not have a external oil cooler ontop of the dual cooling..

I think so too

Matt great video. When would you be test riding cvo limited. Thanks
The orange and black is amazing.
I one time looked up how many hd are there in America and it was like 698, they are still king of the hill...
Hi Matt. Love your reviews. Will you be doing one on the softail slim anytime soon?
+Steve Crozet yes. This Thursday
harleys r dream machiens but this one makes ur eye balls pop out great work keep uploading
I have a question for the riders out there. Has ANYONE put miles yet since they just got released? No not around town
Good video Matt, I always value your insight and knowledge on all things HD.
Is there a better bike that this? looks Gorgeous! don't like fairings as such, but that sharknose thing - is just awesome!
+Oto Kakhidze 👍🏻
Gunship grey looks amazing!!
Also Matt really dig the last one of the three. Now if I can get lucky on a lottery scratch off ticket and have this as a second bike.
Rough price on the grey bike Matt ? Thanks
Does the Road Glide CVO have remote locking bags if so when we add a tour pack to it will that lock remotely also with the same fob
Wow what an amazing bike. Love it!
If you can drop $41,000 on a bike, a $190 windshield should not be an issue. IMO
Is the grey a solid color or is there a pearl coat in there?
TheRobSJ It’s a solid color. Not pearlized. Hot
Awesome Matt, great work thanks for the upload
Matt can you install highway pegs on this small crash bar.
Love that gray
Kinda looks like they went to the shipyard to get the paint. But it's cool looking under the lights.
I like all 3 of them colors. Expensive as they are I believe it's worth every penny in the end because you get so much. I only wish I could afford a CVO.
Can I get gunship gray on a street glide ?
That Gunship Grey is gorgeous
That grey is stunning. Don't give a damn about the speakers.
KokomoJoe Ha! No, not for me man. I Hartley listen to music in the car, I'm definitely not going to start on the bike. Those speakers rob space from the already small panniers as well. Great looking bike but it's a poseurs tool, not a user.
Does it come in black?
117 looks fantastic ✌
I'd love to have the gunship grey color so I could make a Navy themed bike. Haze grey underway!
Going with the Road Glide from my Road King. Wow!
Nice.
Any sneak peek on the new irons
Beautiful!!! Hope I can afford one of these soemday. The best looking harley. This or the streetglide.
+STIjojoSTI agreed
Only problem is that here in the Philippines it cost around $65,000. :(
STIjojoSTI 😳
I would like to import and sell my highly customized 2011 RG to the Philippines!!! 😊
Matt Laidlaw, I see. Thank you sir for your time. Keep up the great work!!!
Matt Laidlaw there is a few guys out their that have done it now just need to change the crash bar and fairing mount
Good video, can't have the colors I like the very year. Lol. I understand the direction the company is going and why, but......lots of chrome and pearl/ metal flake paints are for me.
David knows "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" 😉
Ride safe!
Hey matt bud i love it!!! I called talk to Scott today needed your opinion. Lol
+Diana Scott 👍🏻
where can i get a cvo street glide gray gunship?
Orange?
That's a really bad ass bike😎
Matt. the 117 cube model I like very much.
All 3 are badass.
Is the 117 an upgrade option for other M8 owners?
+Sean Kaschmitter Yes. Only if your bike was shipped from the factory with the 114. The stroke is longer in the CVO 114 bikes. You can't get a 107 to a 117
Matt Laidlaw I thought I've heard people making the new M8's into 120".
I wonder what does CVO abbreviation stands for ?
Custom Vehicles Operations.
No Brakes
Thank bro
That's beautiful
Matt I'm Sold, I'll be in after the Holidays to get one..
+Ronald Garcia awesome. I'll see you around January.
Matt talk about the msrp
I have been rolling HD's for decades, but have yet to justify the price tag on the CVO's...you can buy 2 scoots for that kind of cheese.
Thank you.
Black and red sweet too
Gunship gray for the win!!!
I like the color. Sharp ass bike
Thanks Matt for the video, i imagine a future Fat Boy 117 CVO
Some colors I think I don't like I end up liking when seeing it in real life.
I wish Harley Davidson would at least make a 4 channel amp so your taking up space in your bags
I love that Gunship great, but god damn $41,000 for that? You can buy a brand new truck for that.
Pretty
No Anniversary Road Glide for the 115th Anniversary? The Motor Company has made a Anniversary Road Glide for every Anniversary except for the 115th Anniversary. The Motor Company should fire the Marketing Department head but doubt they will.
Kenneth Wise I bet one comes out next Spring. They've done things like this in the past so...
Patrick Hilgert, but then it wouldnt be an official "Anniversary" model. Makes no sense why they didn't make an anniversary model.
Kenneth Wise not sure I'm following your logic. This is the 2018 model year. If they come out with one Spring of 2018 it would still be an anniversary model. Not saying this will happen but H-D has come out with models this way before. The first CVO dark Ultra comes to mind...
That gun metal color is just bitchin!
The colors are amazing on the Harleys, I don't like the wheels , I love spokes .
Looks like Bender from Futurama
Wow!
Could never justify spending 45k on a bike, but they are beautiful sleds none the less.
Gun ship grey is bad ass!
+tom martin Yes sir!
nice
$41,400 starting price.
Bad azzzzz!!!!!
