Yep everyday is a potential work day when you are self employed. Video was a bit fuzzy. Not sure if it was RUclips or just the image quality FYI.

We do it because we love it 🙂👍
Not sure which parts of the video are fuzzy 🤔
I did watch the video through RUclips before posting, it seems okay on my side.
I guess I have to wait to see if anyone else notices this on their side ?

@@weldmachine For whatever reason mine played at 480p, I had to manually change it to 1080p, just fyi. :)
Great vid and thanks for sharing!

@@randomrouting I tried the same thing after re-watching the video👍
It's sort of ironic how we have become use to seeing everything in a higher definition and we can't seem to accept anything less.
I recently watched an older movie on RUclips and wish I could have clicked on at least 480p. But, I was stuck watching the movie at 360p lol.
At least, the storyline was good enough to watch the movie to the end.
      Thanks for your reply 😊👍

@@weldmachine Indeed, something I really enjoy is remastered 80's VHS movies I saw growing up but in HD, there is alot of stuff that you just couldnt see due to the resolution and sometimes you can tell the ppl knew that as they didnt bother with stuff in the background :)

Quite the family affair there Peter . Lol , at least your CNC's keep all the crap inside the machine unlike my workshop ! 👍

One big positive of CNC machines, well the ones with a cabinet.
Keeping all the mess inside the machine, especially Coolant.
Usually, on Manual machines, you have more Coolant on yourself than on the job 😄

      Hey Aaron.
It's so good to work in a comfortable shop, definitely makes for a nice space to spend your time.
Of course I need to finish off the parts my Son started 🙄.
Just finished running them as I write this.
But, I was also busy cleaning my Manual Lathe.
Definitely needs some ❤️ after all the hard work it has been doing.
      My Partner says Hello.
Just came out to remind me it's time to knock off 🙂👍

That nylon jobs a great one for a trepaning tool do the washer and get to keep the remaining

    • @weldmachine
      @weldmachine  10 месяцев назад

It's definitely a good idea for saving some of the material that basically gets turned into 🍟 🍟
I guess the only thing about Treppaning a Core would be the cost of setting up a Treppaning tool.
Another concern would be chip control ??
I would be a little concerned about trying to get the cut material away from the cutting face.
Plastics are terrible for chip control.
Always managing to get wrapped around Everything in sight 🙄
I see you like posting a few videos also.
Hopefully, you can post a few more showing what you're up to at the moment.
      Thanks for watching.
      🙂👍

@weldmachine you could use a face grooving tool and to 2 or so at a time. You wouldn't get as big of a blank but it would still beat cleaning up a pile of nylon too.
Yes the occasional video been quite busy atm and takes quite a bit of time to film as you would know, will be back on content this year sometime.

@forgeperformanceand4x4 With the DOC from a Face Grooving tool, I would only get a few parts at a time.
And of course, I would need to keep swapping out tools for each couple of parts I would get.
With the amount of work involved in swapping out tools and basically only finishing up with a hockey puck from the Core.
it seemed like it might be best to bore through.
What I currently do is bore through with a 50mm Drill to depth of around 250 mm, I follow up with a Boring Bar to clean up to an ID finish.
Then come back and start Parting off until I reach 250mm
      Then, basically, start again 🙂

Why not do the rod part in one setup? Seems like a 2 tool job as well.

I could run the part in 1 set up.
But, I find that running 2 set-ups keeps the small diameter on the end of the part more consistent in size. 👍
