It has to be said, as far as repaints go this one should of been so easy for Hasbro to get correct, but,as we all know what an epic fail, the blue striping is completely the wrong shade of blue and on the older body,come on Hasbro, we do love repaints BUT when they are done correctly! Great episode guys.

Yeah I gave this one a miss and have no regrets haha! What was crazy to me was it came out around the same time as the new clone body and yet they still used those old pins.
Was wondering what your guys' thoughts are on the future of the archive line (could maybe be a topic for a future ep of OOTB)? There's still a few figures I'd like to see get that photoreal rerelease but overall I think most of the heavy hitters have been ticked and a vast majority of them need full body retooling.

What's up, F! They don't do Archive waves on years where they are celebrating a 40th anniversary. But I honestly think we'll see Archive again in 2024. Like you said there are still some great candidates for that line! -Justin
I live in a very small town. We have one Walgreen's and it's very small, without a toy department. So I've never had the good fortune to own a Walgreen's exclusive. On a side note, I'm slowly building my Black Series collection back from The Great Action Figure Heist. It was my own damn fault. I was moving from one apartment to another and left a pickup truck unattended for like five minutes. Someone horked some boxes out of it. They got my action figures and some clothes. I didn't even notice the boxes were missing until I started unpacking at the new place. I'm up to eight figures so far. I look at it this way, starting over, I can now better focus my collection.

Dude, I lost a snow speeder, the wampa, all my clones, and a bunch more. Oh, well. It's just a small setback. No one got fed to the rancor.

My first star wars figure ever was the AoTC Clone Lieutenant, so this trooper holds a particular spot in my heart. It really is rather disappointing the several wrong turns, especially the color. Some day, I may buy a KO PI trooper and paint him up to be the "Ideal" Lieutenant as at least its a simple design. Shouldn't have to do that, but it makes one's collection more meaningful when we take things into our own hands and create. Nice video boys!
We all have that one nostalgic figure that isn't the best! For me it's the FO Snowtrooper Officer. Not the best Black Series figure by any means, but my first Black Series figure. -Justin
Should have just renamed him 501st and made his paint job pattern more accurate to that
As far as Phase I is concerned, I think it'd be more important to finish out the AOTC ranks. All they had to do was use the correct color. -Justin
I believe Hasbro recognised the popularity of the 501st and tried to kill two birds. Similarly to how they blend animation style with realistic. That being said, I don’t hate it. I could see the colour before I bought it. I’m more upset about the yellow commander being impossible to find

@@OutOfTheBasement I feel your disenchantment with it, though to me it could be a generic 501st Trooper, even if the vertical line on the helmet and the dots on the chest say otherwise. I guess I’m not quite as discerning as y’all. But that nice sky blue / teal would have looked amazing on a 6” Clone.. not gonna lie. I hope they fix it sometime soon.
I use this trooper as a stand in for phase I 501st troopers. Kinda all it’s good for unfortunately

Loving the Banger or Blunder videos guys. I personally cannot stand that old clone body (outside of looks, the body looks great!) and I’m glad I came into the line after the new one had just been made. Between that body and the wrong paint color I think most can agree this was a complete blunder!

The 501st troopers were Phase II in Battlefront 2 though? And the mission on Geonosis, they're just shinies. Unless I'm forgetting something. -Justin
@@OutOfTheBasement In the 2018 battlefront 2 each legion had p1 and p2 skins. They are very questionable when it comes to canon but its a real thing

Hello Justin and Nate another blunder figure guys lol. I never got this figure myself and I'm ok with that. I figured the reason he was painted the wrong color was the factory didn't read the post-it note (the usual excuse). I think I only have the commander (yellow) figure. I have to check because he's still in his box. I don't have room for everyone yet, perhaps someday. Thanks again guys for another bad figure video? Tom

I put a cape on him, that one i ripped off from SHF Mando, heavy Tarkowski Clone Wars vibes.

I obviously do not have this figure, being a late collector, so I can't weigh in. If I really wanted this figure though, I'd paint a new Phase 1 Clone with the right blue. Lol. This definitely looks like a blunder, "come on Hasbro." Lol

I think every clone should have the phase 1 clone trooper build it’s my favorite clone in the line because of how freely he moves yet simple clone the gummy legs like Cody are so disappointing

Yeah this one is pretty unfortunate. Would have been so much cooler if it was the accurate color. This is the only of the four ranked clones from AOTC that I have, but I don't have much inclination to get the others since I know this guy won't match. Not to mention the fact that this should have been the best one, since that aqua blue is my favorite color out of the four. Keep up the great content, guys!

Despite being the wrong colour and doesn't exactly fit because it's got the markings. At least I can use this as an excuse for a 501st Phase 1 Clone because I can't find any official Black series Phase 1 501st

Yep, such an easy figure to get right and they screwed it up. People shouldn’t have to customize to get the correct shade.

Total screw up of a figure but I actually still like it. I prefer that shade of blue because I just don't like teal in general. I do some mental gymnastics when it comes to the line chipping. I imagine the clones clean their armor from time to time but some don't repaint the lines after battle 🤷♂
What does Riley Cr055 have against the color teal?!? Lol! Those are all fair points. I feel like we all do some of those mental gymnastics when it comes to what might be considered a guilty pleasure. -Justin

Um so just repaint it in the right shade of blue, mask off the helmet with tape follow the existing lines and on the body should be straight forward. I'm a TVC collector and I have fixed paint flaws on my figures and even made customs of protocol droids, r2's and made up some Arc troopers, I get you shouldn't have to fix mistakes from Hasbro but hell just fix it and move on with life.
Not personally a fan of customizing my figures, it takes away the "collectible" element for me. And move on with life? That's kind of the point of Black Series Bangers & Blunders. We are highlighting the positves and negatives. -Justin
They will never do a repaint and re-release it, I think you guys are being a little too hard on it, and I am not just saying that because I have eight of them sealed inbox, I received every one of them for free, and it was my first clone that I ever got, and ever since I got him I have quit collecting marvel Legends, plus quitting Legos, quitting DC, quitting g.i. Joe, and quitting transformers, I then began collecting my Star wars Black series clone army, starting with Captain Rex, Bly,gree, echo,, ext,,ext,, I almost have every clone especially on the new clone body,also I am collecting every clone from Legos, if you're that worried about him being such a bad figure, why don't you do your own repaint because they are not going to reissue him again, maybe phase 2, what they need to do is come out with a 4-pack of all of them on the updated clones body, I love you guys, he's really not that bad and he would fit right in the 501st
1. It’s the complete wrong color so yes it’s bad. One of the easiest things to do is paint the figure the correct color. Hasbro CHOSE not to.
2. Shouldn’t have to customize any figure, it should just be correct.
