Think I'd be looking overseas for a striker as your always going to have to pay way over the odds for any half decent striker in this country. If we sell Wilson then we need 2 strikers in, can't risk another season with only 2 recognised strikers

Not necessarily. They could get a really good RW/RF, one who can play up front even if its not their best position (similar to Gordon) who can get 12+ goals a season.
Then they could sell Wilson and get someone like DCL just as a back up to Isak.

I think that one of the things that make Isak and Gordon so good is that they can both play anywhere across the front, and can swap positions during games which also makes them very hard to mark, and they're both capable of banging in goals and getting assists. If we get someone else like that, to play off the right, we'll have one of the most potent forward lines in the Prem. Plus, we'll have Barnes, Murphy, Anderson, and Almiron to cover injuries etc. If we then add a striker who is a decent backup to Isak, whether DCL or someone else, I think we will easily have enough for a season with no European games.
I think the only argument against DCL then becomes, would we be better off looking for someone less injury prone.
Don't get me wrong, if we didn't live in a PSR/FFP world, I would love it if we bought 2 strikers and 2 wingers, and moved on some of the less talented players. However, we do live in an FFP/PSR world, so I'm dubious as to how many strikers we can realistically afford to buy in one go if we still want to strengthen elsewhere
I'd love Bowen to come all be it with a price tag £70/80m possibly??.....not sure the Dyers will let him leave Essex though lol

I normally judge a player on how their fans react when that player is being linked with a move and Everton fans are 50/50 on Calvert Lewin, a lot of them are saying “keep him”, the others are saying they will drive him to Newcastle. Their fan channel on RUclips don’t want him to leave.
My targets would be
1) Bryan Mbuemo
2) Takefusa Kubo or Donyell Malen
3) Buongiorno (CB from Torino)
4) Gift Orban or Kasper Dolberg (2nd striker)
5) Ederson from Atalanta for midfield
DCL? No way. No thank you. Terrible take. One man made of glass out and another one in. A 30+ injury prone Wilson is ten times the player that DCL is. It’s a downgrade. Since 2016, DCL has played 214 games with a return of 54 goals. Since 2020 alone, Wilson has 47 goals in 95 NUFC games. Hell no. Awful take, your worst yet.
I'm not saying I'd choose him, but 38 v 26 for DCL v CW last season surprised me. And I don't think he's a bad player, if he stays fit, which he did last season. Wilson wasn't fit for purpose, and it was to the detriment of Isak. - L

@@Raggattoni if £25m for another injury prone player is someone’s idea of moving forward, then I admire their low aspirations. We have one fit striker. One. If we had two strikers we could trust to be fairly crock-free, I’d be fine with DCL being third choice for rotation and squad depth, but there’s no way I’d want him under the set of circumstances we have. Never.
@@Raggattoni Wilson quality is not in doubt. I love him. But his body failed him last season. And it was detrimental to Isak, without doubt. Need someone who can take the load off Isak, not saying that's definitely DCL, but it wasn't Wilson either, sadly. - L

Dcl is about the standard that Howe can attract , that’s why a bigger name manager would help in attracting new players . Eddie has done a class job , but he has reached his peak . I predict he will be gone by Xmas . Good video lads 👍🏼

Two players I want to see us sign, the first is Edison, he’s a top number 6. He’s like a more athletic and faster Bruno. He has a lot of power and defends like a top centre back. He looks like a mix between Big Joe and Bruno. The second one is Ekiteke, as controversial as that may be. I understand his choice when we first wanted him and I’d take him in a heartbeat if we could get him.

Last time I stayed up there at a beach chalet; half a day’s walk up to St Mary’s Lighthouse, or down to Souter Lighthouse if you tolerate red and white stripes. Really recommend it if you don’t care about luxury hotels or anything

Not Ramsdale don't want to give Arsenal etc funds for Bruno. Tonali esque with Marmadashvili? Tosin to Chelsea, Kelly to us. Love this as a regular feature during the window lads! I would love us to go after Mateta, but I do think the first signing will give us an idea of what we are investing this summer and apart from freebies, I think we will be waiting til July to sign anyone else due to financial constraints and the Bruno clause. Striker wise, I would rather bring in another young one to develop from abroad and keep Wilson.

You guys have a great way of explaining things. Please could you explain why a football player is an asset now. It never used to be like this in the Division 1 days, so is it something the Premier League are insisting clubs do to protect the rotten six.

I think DCL would be a good signing. For the money involved you get a experienced English striker who knows the league and will be happy knowing his role in the squad. I would actually keep Wilson as well as the money (if anyone went for him this summer) involved would be small and three good strikers gives us options in formation

I'd go for Brenton Diaz and then a young striker with potential. I think there's a massive chance to shift Minteh to Liverpool for big money if Howe doesn't fancy him, just remember players like Anthony and Luke and Siem de Jong looked great in the Dutch league. But then again Kudas has been a steal for West Ham.

Isak is the starting striker. No striker coming in is going to be a starter. I agree with that concept elsewhere, but any striker addition is a back-up - and any player would have to be happy with that role. - L

Can’t see WHU selling Bowen except for utterly ridiculous money. They aren’t short of money and about to lose Paqueta potentially forever. They will dig their heels in and demand £100m and most likely only Man Utd will be that silly on a 27 year old with no resale value. I’m concerned that we’re too obsessed with PL experience over long term value. Love to get Kubo from Sociedad, Isak worked out alright!

DCL is certainly no upgrade on Wilson and wouldn't even be a sideways step.
