Excellent review, many thanks. I really like K&F products, I mainly use their filters. I also have one of their heavy duty fluids heads and it's great quality.

It's kind of amazing that K&F products don't come around so often as others do in terms of immediate/ready availability.

Hi there. Thank you, and you're welcome. I've used this tripod a number of times out in the field. It's light weight enough to transport and set up easily, and that extra height is great!

I just ordered this today on Amazon. I bought a cheap ONN tripod that came with a quick disconnect plate. Until I actually used it with Lumix G85, I started to see that the weight was an issue with stability. Mind you, I have a 5.5" monitor, mic and secondary battery power attached to it. I, also, ordered the FH-01 just in case I don't like the stock fluid head. Never would I thought that I would actually spend 150+ on a tripod setup.

Hey there. Awesome, yeah, I used to only spend $20 to $40 on Amazon basics tripods or tripods from Best Buy. And, they work fine most of the time. But, I now have about 5 tripods, but most of the other 4 are still sub-$100, but still work great. This K&F VA18 is a really good deal for only $150. It does have its drawbacks, but it's still the least expensive in this category with fairly decent build quality. I've been using this VA18 for more photography. All of my other 4 tripods are standard ball-head....I'm starting to see some benefits of using "video" tripods for photography......the main issue is video fluid heads usually can't go vertical, but I don't do any vertical video for the most part, aaaaanyway......glad it was helpful, cheers!

@@MarcusHutsell It's me again. Just a quick question. Do you know if I am able to buy a fluid head alone for this tripod? If not, is there other brands that sell heads that will accept the mounting plate that was provided? I am trying to rig up a vertical mount without having to spend money on another tripod just to tear it down for the parts.

Thank you, I just used this tripod this past week with my live-streaming/recording work mainly BECAUSE it went up to that taller height of 6'! Worked great!

@@MarcusHutsellCool. I use a smallrig freeblazer that is tall. I need a tall one for live music events.

hello marcus, where can i find this tool? 04:50

Are you referring to the PLATE That I'm installing on the Panasonic Camcorder? Or the silver tool I'm holding in my hand to turn the screws?
The tool I'm HOLDING in my hand is this one from SmallRig: amzn.to/3Tehf21
The plate is actually the plate that comes WITH the VA18 tripod.

Those camera plate locks are an issue on most tripod heads. The only workaround is to have a tripod riser / plate to try and raise the height. Is this by chance a Manfrotto compatible plate? Thanks.

Hi there. Yeah, it seems to be an issue with many tripods. Some tripods have a more rounded knob which would solve part of this issue. And yes, I often will just have my Falcam F38 quick release clamp permanently installed on the tripod plate so I can quickly mount/dismount my A7iv from this tripod and move it to any of my other tripods without having to remove the K&F plate from its own tripod.
As far as whether its manfrotto compatible, I don't think so, but honestly I don't know because I don't have any other Manfrotto plates or clamps.
