- We have a store :) - brand new merch now out flyingthenest.tv/shop
Thanks so much for your support! So many of you asked us about bringing back the merch and we have been working for quite a few months making this happen and we are so excited to launch it this week to ensure you can start ordering them to arrive before Christmas :)
Let us know what you think about them below!!
- Back to the vlog -
We have arrived at our next destination! York! and honestly this is such a cute little town - absolutely loved our time here!
First up we walked around the historical medieval city walls before making our way into the town before some little red boats caught our eye in the river.
Jess convinced me to jump on a self drive boat, and we have never driven a boat by ourselves before - so much fun highly suggest you do it if you come to York.
Even though we are in York, we couldn't help but pick up a Cornish pastie to sit down and have as a snack to warm us up.
When asking my cousin where we should go, she said check out Betty's Tea Room for some clotted cream and tea and it did not disappoint.
The next day we show you around our amazing hotel - the Principal York before heading into the Shambles to try our very first Yorkshire pudding!
Thanks for watching - excited to see Scotland next!

@@korayturkylmaz8306 We wanted to make a wide range of different products :)
As a yorkie, it's so weird to see scenic shots of places I'd walk everyday. York is unfortunately infamous for hen/stag dos - like I don't like walking through certain streets on a Friday night because of that. But, it's still an awesome city (not town!). If you come back, seeing inside the York minster is a must obvs and if you're into kinda quirky food stalls etc, I recommend spark on piccadilly and that area. Loads of hipstery, indie shops and cafes around there 😊
Yes Spark is great, but very modern (built out of re-purposed shipping containers) and if you feel like visiting something genuinely medieval then just two doors down is the Merchant Adventurers Hall, 800 years older. both must see, for any York visitor.
I was born in York but now I live in Germany.
Hazuki bruh Micklegate on a Friday night is packed with stag and hen dos
They should go to York chocolate story
what's "hen/stag dos"
You’re pronouncing it wrongly! The ‘a’ in pasty is a hard, short ‘a’. So it’s pronounced ‘passtee’ not ‘paystee’. ✅
Its cute, I am always realise my own mistake when I watch my videos back to edit, I am sure they do the same haha
SiHave them pronounce Leicester and get Le-Ces-ter or Nor-wich ha ha
Question re: pronouncing ‘Yorkshire’ - I’ve always said it ‘York sheer’ but is it ‘York shy-er’?
Lisa Thomas Yorkshur :)
Yeah that made me laugh the way it was said!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!! Thank you for the wonderful trip and always looking forward to the next.
Travel More! Worry Less!
:) :)
The way you geezers pronounce Yorkshire is so sweet and forgiving, it's actually York-SURE!
Now it is york-sure but back in the day it was ShIRE. No problem with folk saying Shire, as it should be said.
@@leod-sigefast Its not Yorksure, it is actually pronounced Yorksher; get it right, lol.
You guys are a delight to watch, really enjoyable tour around my home town, loved it.
Yeay, new Merch!!!
I can't wait to see the Scottish vlogs! It's my FAVORITE place.
Lived in York my whole life. As I’ve got older I’ve learned to appreciate it more. Decent place, just fairly expensive to live in
yep. I now live in cumbria though, houses are bigger but 3x less expensive.
What city do you recommend me to visit in one day: York or Liverpool?
For anyone watching this from a country that has no clue what “hens and bucks” mean, it’s not animals - it’s what some countries call their bachelor/ bachelorette / stag / stagette parties!!!
haha thanks Kylie :)
Oh, thank you!! I’m so glad you explained it! I was very confused with the chicken translation 😁 /I’m from Brazil.
Great vlog as always! When the Vikings raided England they settled in York and made it their main city. Keep up the good work!
York --- SHER ---- pleeeeeeaseee ( not Shire )
York --- Shear (Southern accent)
Oh thank goodness you said it... it was killing me. I’m Australian and I pronounce it ‘Yorksher’ it’s not an Australian thing, I promise!
Skum Nah i’m southern and everyone pronounces it yorksher
@@TP-mv6en are you south west? I'm south east and def say shear lol
Hayley Stephen Nah I’m from Buckinghamshire so centre of the south I guess
Another awesome video guys.. I keep wanting to mention that I love the way Jess looks at you during the vids.. You can see that undying love she has for you.. You guys are so special..
nawww :)
I love that you guys have explored more than just London. London is amazing but there’s so much more to england than London, I feel like people often forget about the rest of the country but there’s some really beautiful places here :) 😁
... I really enjoyed watching this. 🤗🥰 You two had fun. 😁💙
Awww, I miss York!! That Yorkshire Pudding Looks Bommb! ! 😍
Never miss an episode! Congratulations on your new merch! I gotta check it out!
Here all the way in the Bronx, I love y'all page. Feels like I traveling along with y'all as I'm here in class😂😂
This was great. I'm headed to York next month and I'll be in Edinburgh as well! Cannot wait for that vlog. Love your vlogs. You guys are so much fun.
York is a fantastic place, full of quirky shops and streets. The locals seemed very friendly too, well worth a visit
Ahe another medieval town, yes pls! 💙✨
Ahhhhhhhhhh AMAZING!!!!! I've been to York soooo many times and never thought to take out the manual boats!!! I WILL BE DOING IT NEXT TIME!!!! I'll have to try and remember to vlog it too xx
You two were so cute on that boat. So much excitement on your faces! I have been to York a few times and never saw the boats. Got to give it a go now. 😀
So excited for the merch guys!! 🤗 It would be so cute if you guys ever make some coffee ones for all of us coffee lovers ☕️😜 maybe a coffee quote or something!
How did you not go to York Minster!? Or Clifford’s tower? missing out on some amazing things in York :(
Totally going to York next time I visit the UK! I had no idea it was so lovely! Great tourism vid guys. 👍🏻
It gets massively overlooked in mainstream but I’ll tell you there’s no better city in the UK
Congrats on your store guys! It's really lovely designs too! If I wasn't a traveller I would love to get some... but you know the packing challenges... thanks for keeping me entretained with the videos! :)
I'm moving to York next September and I've been trying to find videos to learn more about the area and unfortunately there isn't many so thank you for this!
The proper traditional Sunday roast experience is going to the pub for it. Every pub does Sunday dinner every Sunday.
You should really visit the Lake District!
I've been here & the caption is exactly what I said to my friends!!!! MOST UNDERRATED TOWN IN ENGLAND!!!! ❤️
York is a city, not a town
Nice one guys, my favourite city in the UK :)
very excited!
, we will be visiting york this august
This is so cute 💛 this is my uni town and I love it so much but also take it for granted a lot. Need to make the most of living here!
York is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been! ❤️
AGREED!
Hi you guys Love Yorkshire ❤it Love you're work and vlogs!
Really good! Can't wait for Scotland!
I want nothing more than to do everything exactly like you both do...everything seems so fun!
You two are adorable! Love your channel!
I discovered you guys today and I subscribed so fast. The content is really amazing 🤩😍👏🏿
Loving your brand merch. I have followed you since you explored New Zealand. Heading off for a month in New Zealand shortly to spend time with family. I have just purchased a hoodie in your range. Thought I was purchasing in Australian dollars but it was American dollars. Still happy to enjoy your new merch. York is stunning. Be sure to explore the shambles early in the morning and take photos before it becomes busy.
The boat trip is so cool😎you guys rock it 😉
Congratulation on your brand! good timing for Xmas
Thank you so much :)
The merch looks great ,! We loved the pudding i thought you were going to drop it xxx M&D
I hope you all come back to York soon. Would love to see my favourite RUclipsrs while I'm still living here!
Glasgow is awesome you should head there! Also if you're doing a train trip head up to Dunkeld and go to the Hermitage. It's absolutely amazing! You'll love it!
Yorkshire puddings taste so good with strawberry jam on them we always have it as desert after our Sunday roast with the left over puddings
I miss my home city so much. York is one of the most beautiful city's in the U.K, glad you had a nice time there and got to try a yorkshire puddin.
Yep. Me too!
York has to be one of my all-time favourite cities in the UK to visit. So much to do and see, loads of history and the food is amazing. You should definitely check out the Jorvik Viking Centre next time you are there, comes with authentic smells and all. Enjoy Scotland x
What city do you recommend me to visit in one day: York or Liverpool?
Together with this music your Vlogs are better than watching a movie
Love the pink jumper jess!
Love You Guys. Thanks for sharing, shared. Love From Leeds.
You guys deserve a million subscribers at least!!! Content is Soo good!!!
congrats on your new merch!
The go to Hens night is Newcastle the in the UK. Hope you go there next as it's not far from York and another beautiful city. York is super busy around Christmas as it's Christmas market is one of the best in Europe!
Loving your UK series, although it's making me miss home soooo much. I'm from the South and have only been to York twice, but I love it there. I'm working in Prague until Christmas. I've only been away for a month, but I would kill for a yorkshire pudding right now!!!
I live in Sydney so thanks v much for taking me back home 💛💙
Glad you enjoyed my home city, sadly lots of stag / hen parties do come on the weekend, but York does have a lot more to offer... nest time come during the week and you should enjoy it more. Lots of hidden places to visit... Brew York / Spark / house of trembling madness / valhalla etc etc
Nice video and adventure. Respect from Poland.
I love watching all your videos but this one in particular was wonderful, especially the bit on the boat, it really made me laugh! I am from Yorkshire (Leeds) so found your comments really interesting. You are both great presenters and very professional and have a great sense of humour, keep up the good work!
What city do you recommend me to visit in one day: York or Liverpool?
I can't stop laughing while watching you dude driving the boat. It's damn hilarious.
Lovely city 😍 ... i will definitely go there next time... last time, we went to Eastbourne... it was a very beautiful city and beachy head views was breathtaking... u guys need to visit there ... love you
Wow.... Again merch😍😍😍😍😍
YAYY soo excited to announce this!
Newcastle is definitely a beacon for hens and stag dos!
So pretty :) I live in Edinburgh and I hope you'll have a great experience (Don't miss the Christmas market!!)
Gotta love my hometown ❤❤❤
York is absolutely THE hen/stag destination in the north. It's infamous for it. A friend who lived in the centre had to use earplugs every weekend to get any sleep.
Is it bollocks! It's got a great range of bars but the clubs are poor. Leeds and Newcastle are many times more popular!
I lived in York for 3 years and can tell you that isn't really true. There is much less than in bigger cities like Leeds
My home!!! This video is life ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are lucky to have such a beautiful place to call home
You guys really need to come further north to Newcastle & Northumberland you're missing so much!
Ohh my, I'm feeling sooooo wistful! York was the first place my friend and I visited after my arrival across the pond in April 2008. We stayed at a lovely B&B for two nights just outside the town limits. We walked the Shambles. Passed by that Tea Room. Took a ride along the river, and even though we opted for the larger vessel driven by someone else lol (good job at the helm you two!), I sure do recognize the surroundings on shore in this video!! And indeed the weather could not make up its mind during our stay...clear one minute, a soaking shower the next :) Most of the time the sun was shining. I noticed glimpses of the Minster Cathedral here. If you return to York, please check it out. You may enjoy the Norvik Viking museum as well. I wasn't sure I'd be that interested in the museum. After that experience I definitely saw why my friend raved about it.
Thanks guys!!!
Your new merchandise looks amazing! My parents and I went on holiday to York in the summer and I have uploaded three vlogs about it so far, but I have at least two more to edit and upload. I remember going to Stonegate and the larger version of Bettys Tea Rooms. The self-drive boat tour looks like a unique way to get around York and the roast dinner in a giant Yorkshire pudding looks incredible. By the way, LNER stands for London North Eastern Railway and it is the new name for Virgin Trains East Coast.
Thanks April!! Hope you had a lovely time in York!
Que Simpáticos. Me agrada mucho vuestros vídeos. Gracias
My FAVOURITE city in England I LOVE YORK
York is a City not a town even they say to town to bus driver, that's a English quirk.
bruh this is a year old, but your not exactly right, 'town' is the city center, so if i was telling my mam that i was off to the city center i would say "im off into town"
@@TheMagicianOfGaming nah youds say you of Into city centre🤦♂️😂
@@keirantaylor2624 nah mate. Whenever i'd be going center like i'd be sayin: I'm off 'town, d'ya wan out?
@@keirantaylor2624 i promise you, literally fucking nobody calls it the city center
With all those pastries and sweets I don't know how you both keep from putting on the pounds! Love you guys your the best
Loving the pronunciation so cute
Was there last weekend had a ice cream on the bench were you guys are and watched all the boats xx
The Shambles is the inspiration for Diagon Alley in Harry Potter - when I was at Uni in York, there where no Harry Potter shops down there and now I think there are like 3 of them!
Just watched this. Loved the whole of the England series. We would say York-sheer. We've noticed a few different ways to say it. The York-sheer pudding started out as a desert or sweet. Try it with jam or ice cream. We've liked the different places to see as opposed to where people tend to go.
Slowly catching up with you now!!!
I live close to York, it’s such a beautiful city⭐️
Lol
Pas--tie and "york sheeer" pudding,
Great vlog xx
True. As much as I love Stephen and Jess, they've been travelling long enough now that they really should try to pronounce things right. It's not PAY-stee, it's PAST-ee. It's not YorkSHYER pudding, it's York-sher pudding.
You guys are the best but please sit down with the Yorkshire Pudding and Full Roast next time!! I was nervous you would drop it! :)
Hi Guys,
If you think York is bad for hen and stag parties try Newcastle.
I live on York and glad you enjoyed your visit - enjoy your travels !!
How have you never had Yorkshire puddings? We have them with every roast! We also have toad in the hole which is sausages baked into the Yorkshire pudding! So delicious! Gotta have lots of gravy though!
Good Morningggggg!!!! Happy Wednesday!!!!
Happy Wednesday :D
Happy Wednesday :D
Amazing.york is my favourite go to day out.yorkshire pudding is the same mix as pancakes.great vlog.
oh wow - it doesn't taste anything like pancakes haha
@@flyingthenest i know but it is just eggs flour and milk.yummy.o and love the merch!
Hello my loves 💕. Congratulations on your merchandise line. I cannot wait to have a peek. I have to tell you that you both have changed my life in so many ways. I first started watching your vlogs in August, 2017 to prepare for my trip to Cairo and Greece. Even though I would be staying with family I didn’t know what to expect as I have never been to Cairo and the last time I was in Greece was in the early 1980’s. I have since been watching all your current vlogs and when I am missing you I begin watching your adventures from the beginning. You have made me want to travel for the rest of my lifetime. I live in Ohio, USA but was born in Greece 🇬🇷 and there is where all of my family, except for my mother, sister and daughter, live. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your beautiful adventures and memories with me 💕
My mistake, August of 2018 💕
Oh wow thank you for such a kind comment and we are so so happy you enjoy watching our vlogs because we love making the for you all :)
love how you say yorkshire puddin. its cute as kittens on a cloud :P
haha oh dear! how are you meant to say it :P
You got it spoton. its just your accents that makes it great :D
Thanks for the great videos btw. keep up the great work!
Flying The Nest in England we say it more like ‘yorkshuh’ not pronouncing it ‘yorkshire’ how it’s spelt!!
Im born n bred in glasgow/scotland i lived in york for 6 months love your video its very good
In 1999 York was the hen and stag do capital of Europe.
Due to the positioning on the mainline railway, sheer amount of pubs and other nightlife (aside from the other reasons to visit), York has maintained a very high amount of visits from such parties - particularly on race days.
Yorkshire pud is our Sunday dinner mainly, the best.
Hi Guys, great video; Yorks a lovely city way better than anywhere down south. As for Yorkshire pudding, It is a batter, just flour, milk water eggs and salt. Easy to make and delicious. There are way more Stag and Hen nights in Blackpool than York.
Yes
you are amazing guys.
naw you are so sweet :)
Okay you made me want to go to York guys!
Walking around chomping on a filled Yorkshire pudding is not normal, that was hilarious😂
Hahaha haha
When I went to Ireland/Wales/England, I was suppose to use that BritRail pass to spend 2 days in Edinburgh but with Easter weekend it kind of messed things up so again, definitely have to visit Scotland next and more of Wales :) York looks very cute though!
I'm from England and yes, York is the place for a 'day sesh', hen do's or Stag do's (buck)
Love living in york
This was brilliant and I have never been to York and I am from the south coast of the UK
