I’m also from Australia, vowed never to do the sandals and socks look, but it was such a relief to my blisters, Really enjoying your travels, Bon Camino.
Yes, doing ~40,000 steps per day could justifiably be called "taxing". But you guys are antipodean troopers, therefore "No probs." 😉 Also that dinner looked a wee bit ordinary. I guess when you're hungry and tired you just get it down and give 1/5 star the next day.
Hi you two !! Great watching this, I did my Camino last June 2019. León was my big rest day so I took a bus from Mansilla de las Mulas and treated myself to a hotel room and explored this lovely City. Found the Camino experience just marvellous, and appreciate the work you have put into your videos. I had made a little film myself but nothing like this. Brings it all back so thanks for that guys ... Buen Camino, Dave :))
Hi Dave Thanks for your comments, we left SJPDP on the 19th of august 2019. It truly is a wonderful experience. I watched your video and enjoyed it very much. Buen Camino Jim and De
Glad you liked Leon. I had originally planned on staying two nights there but I messed up on the days and we'll only be able to stay one night there. Hoping to stay in the Parador there if it opens up in time. Read it may open in February. Looks like we're going to enjoy Leon based on your video. As always, enjoy your video story!
@@JimandDe Since we didn't get to go last year I was able to book two nights at the Leon Parador for next year! We leave May 25, arrive in Paris May 26, train to SJPP on May 28, start walking on May 29, 2022! Can't wait! Watching all your videos again...love them!!
Thank you so much for the videos. Leon is beautiful. Much like yourselves! Looking forward to see you reach SANTIAGO. May I ask why you’re doing so many kilometres per day? You haven’t said.
thanks , glad you are enjoying. De was restricted with time because of work commitments. We walk a lot anyway but we trained for 6 months prior to our camino , we walked every day with our packs and at least one 20km + walk each weekend. We gave ourselves extra days just in case something went wrong (sickness or injury)but we found as the days went by we enjoyed the walking and it just became the norm to walk 25 to 30 km per day Hope that answered your question Great to hear from you Jim and De
@@JimandDe I will keep you in mind when, not if, we walk the Camino. We had hoped to walk it in 2020, but Covid had other plans. We even had our flights booked! David…also known as ‘Not From Here’.
Joluva sandals. just ordinary sandals really with a good sole and two front straps so i could adjust them and wear socks (because of my blisters) They worked really well

Then you know exactly why I did it and as a fashion statement it wasn’t that great but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Wow - you guys walked so many km in a day - no wonder its was taxing. You finished way faster than normal. Wow
Hi Karen
We have always loved to walk and we trained a fair bit before we started
It was Fabulous
:-)
You two are so cute!
Lol
I don’t think we’ve ever been called cute before
Thanks
:-)

@@JimandDe That does answer it...we know there is a time crunch for some reason. My family hope to walk it this coming May-June.
Awesome
Let us know what your family thought of the experience
Everyone gets something different out of it ( generally positive) :-)

Why are all the statues of male pilgrims? You two walk soooo fast, I have to lie down to watch!
Ha ha
We did sleep well each night
