London Pride March (1979)

On 30 June 1979, 5-6,000 people gathered at Hyde Park for a carnival and concert marking the end of Gay Pride week, the tenth anniversary of the campaign for equality for homosexual men and women.
More than four decades later, the week has become a month, the umbrella has widened, and the struggle to protect and promote the rights of marginalised groups has not ceased.
