    What is Multiple Sclerosis ❓
    Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system). In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers nerve fibers and causes communication problems between your brain and the rest of your body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage or deterioration of the nerves. Signs and symptoms of MS vary widely and depend on the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. Some people with severe MS may lose the ability to walk independently or at all, while others may experience long periods of remission without any new symptoms. There's no cure for multiple sclerosis. However, treatments can help speed recovery from attacks, modify the course of the disease, and manage symptoms.

    It gets easier, mate. I have been on Ocrevus for 3 to 4 years. My first infusion as painfully, slow c. 6 -7 hours, plus I face planted onto the tiled floor my way out of the hospital. Now the infusion takes 4 to 5 hours, I don't get sleepy and can drive the15 miles home. I am in my late 60s, so you should adapt a lot quicker. The Ocrevus infusions have stopped the progression of PP MS in its tracks, as shown by my last MRI scan. However, I did start getting infections last summer. My neurologist has increased the gap between infusions to 8 months and this seems to have allowed my immune system to rebound a bit, giving me some extra protection. Good luck with your treatment and I hope you benefit mightily from it.

    Thank you so very much for all of your videos. I start my first infusion of Ocrevus tomorrow at 9 am. I was on Aubagio for 3 1/2 years and then it stopped working. I went from 11 lesions on my brain to over 30+ in just 4 months. So my Neurologist suggested that Ocrevus is what was best for me at this time. My insurance denied it at first, but my neurologist called my insurance and explained the importance of me being on Ocrevus and then they approved it. So I start my first infusion tomorrow morning.
    Thanks a bunch for your videos...they truly helped me not be so worried about tomorrow. Many beautiful blessings sent your way always. Keep shining your brilliant light ✨️ for all the world to see!!! Blessings 🌠

    Glad your second infusion went well after the slight reaction to the first infusion. It was the same for me and I understand pretty common. Mine was a little rash on my cheek. No reaction for the first full as well. Lined up for my second full in a couple of weeks. I've asked for less Sol Medrol hoping my sleep in the weeks following the infusion aren't as disrupted as in the past.
    You must have remembered your snacks ;-) they help the experience greatly and having some electronic gadget to keep us distracted from the pace of the slow drips ;-0

    Hi Sebastian, first of all, thank you for sharing your personal experience! It helps a lot!! :)
    My name is Dani, I'm from Spain.
    I took 1-year Aubagio but appears new lesions...now my doctors suggest start with Ocrevus. It helps me a lot your information because i bit scared for this treatment. With Aubagio it was really simple, 1 pill per day and, go!
    My question is, all this fatigue you feel during the infusion and day after, then you recover your energy and your normality? I do a lot of sport, and I'm a very active person... so I'm a bit worried if for 6 months I would have a normal live.
    And, about colds? Or flu? You got ill more than before? Do you need and extra Vitamin supplement, or what do you do to be healthy?
    Thanks again :)

    • @LifeofSebMS
      @LifeofSebMS  Год назад

      Hola Dani! Te respondo en español ya que yo también vivo en España 😉 pues mira, yo antes también tomaba una pastilla diaria y el cambio me asustaba bastante, pero la verdad que estoy mucho mejor ahora. Me ponen la infusión cada seis meses y fuera de eso no tengo que pensarlo más. El cansancio me dio después de las dos primeras infusiones, pero ahora ya hago vida normal al instante.
      Verás, no tienes nada por qué preocuparte!! Podrás seguir haciendo deporte sin interrupciones 😊

      OCREVUS is a DMT for primary progressive MS (and for one of the relapsing MS categories as well).
      The primary benefit of this med is to reduce the progression of MS.
      Obviously I would strongly suggest talking to your neurologist to see if it’s something that’s available for you.
