I liked that you began with the photo of the original GS. It highlights the strict diet the BMW engineers put the 1250 variants on, tightly packing all the technology into a neater, cleaner looking package. It gives the impression of being a smaller bike than it actually is. The final drone shot of the road and reservoir is great as well.
This bike checks many boxes in the need and want departments. A Swiss Army Knife of motorcycles. Nice review Adam!
Excellent... Excellent review Mr. Waheed 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 You told me everything I wanted to know about the new R 1300 GS 🦾🦾🦾
With Christmas coming up, I will take the offroady blue one, Adam.
Thanks in advance 👌
It looks substantially smaller than the 1250 from a wind and weather protection aspect. I’m wondering how this will feel to ride in a 40° rain storm compared to the outgoing model
Love the GS/A, as well as your content, but when's the real review begin? This was I have to mind my Ps and Qs version, or BMW won't be having us back. Been watching since '04 with the MCUSA Superbike/Supersport shootouts.
I was choosing between an r1300gs and a v4. Called the bmw dealer 23k for the gs, called the ducati dealer 35k for a v4. There never was a choice.
Are they spec’d the same? Careful…price varies WIDELY depending how they are optioned and equipped.
I remember the 81 gs R80 looks nice and light. New bike looks neat but too big too expensive. Better be Hercules if you drop it. But if you got the bucks 😊
Beauty of a GS is that it doesn’t fall flat (stops on the engine guards) and the wide bar gives great leverage in lifting if you know how to do it. My GS is a breeze to lift compared to my previous Kawasaki sport tourer.
Excelente review!
Wish someone has something to say how it rides without the $3,800 premium package, which upgrades suspension and brakes! What is the bike like with standard
setup.. ??? 😬
All the awesome reviews seem to be counting on premium packages….
Thanks
No one buys a GS in standard setup.😅😅😅
@@ericdonkels1287 True. I don't even think they really exist in "standard" trim.
I just hope it's an option to have a keyed ignition instead of the keyless...
I lost interest in the BMW GS series of bikes years ago. Over the years the 1200 and 1250s have become the size of big sofas. Add boxes and you damn near have a Goldwing. The 1300 looks smaller and I like it. For now I’ll stick with my 1150gs.
No way a 525 pound adv bike handles like a 450.
It's got a radar ray gun? Sign me up .
The older Gen GS, while iconic, was bulky and had definitely become dated in its looks. Weight loss is always a positive things and the new GS looks better though some people won’t be fans as change is hard to accept
22 HP lost to the wheel?
Hardly. My way older 1200GS when stock, lost around 10-11 to the wheel.
Bike magazine put a 1300 on a Dyno and it put out 138bhp to the rear wheel. I think BMW have under stated the power numbers on these bikes.
Ah…how can the 1300 Boxer be “legendary” when it is NEW? The flat-twin boxer configuration may be legendary. Saying it is “powered by BMW’s legendary 1300cc boxer twin engine” is a misnomer that suggests a proven powerplant, which the new engine is not.
This.......guy...................................... talks.....like.......Captain Kirk
Wait at least two years before buying this bike because any new platform has its share of Gremlins and issues.
I for one, don’t want to be a guinea pig or beta tester for BMW
"Motor-Ad" that's not how you say Motorrad.
The white one looks similar to benelli trk 502 adventure 😂 kinda awful in design
One of the most anticipated bikes in the last year and this is your full review? 7 minutes and 10 seconds? This was an like an advert. Typical americanized content. Fast, and gloss over the details and information. I'll check other sites for the real reviews.
I think the title implies it's more facts and figures. I'm sure he'll do a real road test later.
All you need to know it’s $30k for a warmed over 5 year old platform with more electronic gimmicks…
Warmed over 5 year old platform? What are you on about. It’s a completely new engine, gearbox, frame and suspension package. The only parts shared with the old bike are the throttle bodies.
Remember when ADV wasn’t gay?
Cheap looking, ugly, mega bucks...... Goes well but so do other bikes that dont cost a fortune..... and just wait til its out of warranty and things start to break
