I still remember that day. I was at Mt Alvernia Prep, we were all going home early that day. I didn't know why until my dad came home and we all watched the news of what was going on. Several years later I have talked to people and family members who have experienced and saw what happened during the Gas tax riots. Politicians left the Country and let the Police and Military handle the situation, people were angry, people blocked roads, people threw rocks or stones at vehicles and business places, worries of looting going around. I asked an Uncle who experienced it of what it was like? He stated to me that if you were a License Firearm holder trying to get home, you pulled your gun out that day in order to get by the road blocks occupied by a lot of angry people.

Oh my , I got caught up in that chaos on the way to the airport 😂. I ran outta money paying ppl to remove obstacles out the way. I made it with all four tires. All the ppl in the taxi became my family coming to see me off😂

Jamaicans understood 20 years ago what Canadians still don't realize.

To them we are the profane. I wonder sometimes if the powers that be resent or despise the average citizens? It seems that way sometimes.
I’ll be signing up to the project you mentioned in the video. Media manipulation and misinformation are sadly very prevalent and need to be discussed. 👌🏾

I think the arrogance in government still exists today across both parties.
Looking fwd to your participation and please spread the word.

If any group of people had the best service in the universe, it still would not be right to force people under the threat of violence to pay for it.
So any amount of tax should be the limit. It violates consent and is immoral. It is actually a form of slavery.
On a pragmatic level, the free market will in all likelihood provide better services, because they are way more accountable to the people they serve.
