Always love your reviews... presentation is top notch, b roll is beautiful and we get all the info we need to make an informed decision - and more! Particularly helpful to a lot of people I'm sure with the pop filter explanation. I love the colours on it too!
Yes you can. Just connect the MDrill One to the iPhone using the lighting to USB cable. You'll see the Led Lights turn on meaning that the Mic is getting power from the phone then open up the Camera app and you can hear the audio provided you have plugged in to the 3.5 jack in the microphone. Works well for me on all apps including the camera app with no latency.
Very good recommendation for a USB microphone for iPhone and computer which is just what I was looking for and this is something that is interesting that you are testing out and we can judge engage how good the microphone is for our own usage
Thanks so much. Yeah I really love this mic. Awesome in terms of the industrial design and sound quality. I'll be using it quite a bit on some up and coming videos!
Do you know if the pop filter is gonna clear the keyboard and mouse noises? Because i have a problem that you can hear it threw the mic without a pop filter.
The POP filter won't make any difference with that. It is only a very subtle modification that stops the plosives as your breath hits the microphone. So really the only way to minimise other sounds is to make sure you use the Cardoid pattern as this rejects some of the noise from the back. However it will still pick it up as much of that sound can reflect in the room.
Really it should also work with any Android phone that supports USB audio. It comes with a USB C to USB A cable so for most Android phones that use a usb C connector you would just need an adaptor or you would use a USB C to USB C cable. I haven't tested it myself but I would think it will work on most Android phones.
@@proxdgamer7764 I see so that would be an Android phone. I know it is supposed to work on Android but I only tested on my iPhone using the usb C to USB A with an adapter to Apple lighting and it worked for me. Also usb C on the iMac as I mentioned. As for Android not sure, perhaps try downloading some software. For example try the Rode Reporter app. Have it open then connect the mic and see if it picks it up.
Hi! Blue Yeti all the way! I have a request. I’m a new voice over narrator, Can you please do a video on how to meet the specs of ACX using GarageBand for the iPad/phone? PLease 🙏🏻🎙Thank you!!! Much appreciated.
I got the same mic but the power doesn't turn on when I plug it into my iPhone... but I'm using two adapters (USB 3.0 to type-C, then type-C to lightning). Do you know if I have to use the adapter you demonstrate?
Not sure if it would work with multiple adaptors. So I used it with the provided USBC-3 to USB A cable that came with the MIC then the standard lighting to USB camera adaptor.
I’m during a usb type a to lighting converter (camera adapter) but also have issues with it powering. Can you link the adapter you used? I suspect that one could handle a higher energy output the one I have purchased can’t handle
@@mikailmermi4759 This is the one I used and it seems to work fine. No drop outs. www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MD821AM/A/lightning-to-usb-camera-adapter
Hi There. I would think that it would work. However I have not tested it so can't be 100% sure. It may be a matter of contacting the Thronmax team on their website if you want confirmation. The other thing is that the cable in the box is USBC(connection on microphone) to USB A(for most computers) Your samsung would probably have a USB C connection so you'll either need an adaptor to get a usb A cable into the samsung or you could try a USB C to USB C cable.

Thanks Loz. Greatly appreciated! Yeah I love the LEDs on the mic. Looks so cool on camera!

Can you use a usb c to USB c so you don't need to buy an adapter
Yes you can. I have tested with a usb c cable to usb c cable going from the Thronmax to my iMac via the usb c type 3 port and it works well.
@@Touchtechnologyreview hmmm whenever I try from mic straight to my phone it powers on but it shows its muted and isn't detected

Yeah I really like the sound of it, so crisp and clear. Yeah man. Born free!
Do you have the issue where pressing the mute button brings up spotlight search and then the Mac doesn't go to sleep?
No, that is not happening for me.I have tested on MAC OSX V 11.5.2.
