This is MUSIC creation - you have to always look for a new and unique thing that nevertheless somehow makes sense. This one is like walking up a flight of stairs that have short rises, then a group of taller rises, then even taller rises, then back to short rises, then maybe really tall rises, next... - etc. SO cool!

The combination of recorded voice discussing getting into a groove with the drummer and string quartet moving through different beat patterns and/or tempi (I couldn’t tell if it was metric modulation or actual changes in tempo) is really provocative and fun. The drummer is the embodiment of physical ease and cool. Very impressive! I loved the staging with the circular light configuration. It’s so smart of the person who filmed the performance to shoot from above as well as from the audience’s perspective!
