    Probably the sexiest looking race car of the modern era. And I just love the story. It’s made me a Jag fan.

    I so miss Alain, the English gentleman racer personified. And soon, I fear, I will be missing Jaguar also. Of the many great British marques, Jaguar has always been my favorite. Maybe what addicted me was my first ride as a ten-year-old in my Dad’s new Mark I. Whatever, after four Jaguars of my own, I’m still hooked. Especially heartbreaking is the awareness that Jaguar’s current line may be its best ever. Try convincing Americans of that; for decades they’ve been brainwashed into believing the only European cars worth having were German. And so it goes. Bloated “Grand Touring” coupes from Germany are raking in American dollars while the most beautiful luxury sports car in the world, Jaguar’s F-Type, will soon be an orphan. Alain and Jaguar, for me you will always live on.

      Well said. I have a 2023 F-Type P450 and 2023 F-Pace SVR. Love them and the brand - they have soul. Very apprehensive of the all EV line up from 2025. idiotic.

      I remember when I saw this program the first time on the speed channel, at first I thought it was going to be a drowsy show, but when I saw the detail on the explanation that Alain de Cadenet offered for every single of the machines he presented, that was a flawless victory, RIP Mr de Cadenet 🙏🏼

    i love this show! Top Gear is fun, but this show really express' the soul of some of these cars. fantastic cinematography, and the 'track' around the lake is awesome!

    I cannot imagine driving the last "pinnacle" of Group C protos (before the 1990-1993 downfall with the V10 "reform" leaded by Ecclestone) in these countryside roads, with that incredibly powerful V12 engine... even if that is the 1987 WEC Specs version and not the 1988 state-of-art LM one, I cannot imagine just the guts to drive it around on narrow open roads... RIP Alain, truely a Le Mans legend.

      and 7L engine, which, with the fuel restrictions introduction, made it completely useless. Next 2 WEC seasons clearly demonstrate that.

    Keep yer hybrid whatsits and diesel turbo guff.... give us proper engines!
    Howling Jags, operatic Ferraris... maybe Audi could reinvent the old Auto Union V16, and Porsche could join in with a flat six bark... And to round out the top 5 most successful manufacturers... Bentley, could bring W shaped engines into the fray.
    What a grid that would be..
    I'd pay to watch that, and I'd stay up for the whole 24 hours too.

    Beautiful car, but how extremely unreliable it was. I think it won Le Mans by some miracle, because all the other races that season it broke down.

    • @paulfitzgerald7513
      @paulfitzgerald7513 4 года назад

      Ronald de Rooij it was in test mode for the first two seasons. Tom Walkinshaw said it would take 3 seasons to win and that’s exactly what happened. If you don’t like the jags, go and watch something else..

      Broke down? This car won the second of back to back world sports car championship doubles. Brundle won with a record points haul.

      It's worth multiple millions of dollars or whatever currency you use. I don't blame him for driving tentatively at all, especially considering that it's the ACTUAL car that won Le Mans. A museum piece for sure.
