this is great! Thanks, thanks for this amazing video! Incar scenes, with the cars flying at a speed close to the 400 km/h (that year the WR Peugeot 88 reached a top speed of 405 km/h...)
Man, Le Mans was so much better in the 1980s. You had a proper Mulsanne Straight, and cars like rockets. Nowadays the rule books ruin it, but back then, it was a race above them all!
@Porsche911GT1 Pirro was at one point with Benetton in 1989, one of the top team s in Formula One, and was leading the German Grand Prix for a few laps at one point.
i'm not saying the most talented drivers are strictly lemans drivers, what i'm saying is that the best drivers in the world, whether they're from nascar, f1, irl, rally or whatever, the drivers that can win endurance races like the 24 hour of lemans in my opinion are considered the best of the best
Per FIA World Motor Sport Council's decision yesterday, the World Championship is back. "FIA World Endurance Championship 2012", can you believe this? Essentially the current Intercontinental Le Mans Cup will become it. This is a huge step.
in my opinion, no one get mad at me for this, but in my opinion the greatest drivers on earth are the ones who are in endurance races such as the 24 hours of lemans and win them. Its possibly the toughest type of racing, if you think about it...rally is up there
They were very fast in 1998 but the gearboxes was what stop them from winning. 1999 was a tough year, Crashes and flat tires ended any chance. Plus BMW had special AP brakes that reduced the need to change pads.
This comment is 13yr old..don't know if you're still alive or not ,these xjr9 jags have a panel on each rear side of the tires with quick latches..you can't see the latches in the video cause it's blurry but the panels covered the rear wheels for better aero dynamics
cette année là, le record de vitesse a été pulverisée.......405kmh avec la WM P88,a moteur peugeot, elle ne finira hélas pas la course, mais le record ne seras jamais battu!!
I've been to Le-Mans 7 time's since the mid-90's, and i really do wish that i was around to see these Group-C car's in their prime.
Group C1/C2-what a great style of endurance sportscar racing this was; I wish this style was still around today
this is great!
Thanks, thanks for this amazing video!

245mph down the Mulsanne........simply incredible
These days were lucky to see 210mph
conorcurran1 with 2 chicanes lol, its even more impressive, just not as amusing as seeing them going even faster
This is so cool of you to post these older sports car races(especially Lemans 1998!) More Please!
Have been a Le Mans 14 times. I Think it was better in the "old" days.

great times for sportscar racing, the cars were mad on the straights and sounded amazing :)
Thanks a lot for this vid ! That was my very first year at Le Mans !! Lots of memories !

R.I.P Group C!
JAG-WAR
JAG-YOU-A
JAG-YOU-ARE
Yeah, I can imagine those dangerously fast speeds they can go to.
In 1990, Mulsanne now has 2 chicanes to accomodate the safety reasons. :(
Holy shit 7:41 seconds before that graphic was obviously wrong lol
Oh and the Porsche 911 GT1 is my favorite car ever.

20 years ago today, the race was comleted - June 12, 1988

have to remember there were no GT cars for a long period from the mid 80s to the early 90s.
Isn't one of the commentators the guy that gives voice to Stewie?
Anyways, love to watch this Le Mans vids, thx for posting.
408 Km/h at top speed. EPIC
that's nearly 1 minute of full throttle on the Mulsanne
Group C cars where amaezing :D
I noticed you deleted a few vids from your playlist. Do you have the gtp race at Road America in 1983 Road America 500

Question:
For the Jaguar Team, how they change the rear tires?

Yeah but the engine broke shortly after. All the ducts were taped off. Peugeot entered it to do a speed run
