- Welcome back to another week on SL Rebuilt. In this weeks episode we finally start work on the Mini Coupe and attempt to get it roadworthy within a few hours before the deadline of a booked MOT appointment.
Will it pass its MOT? Can I bend metal with my bare hands? Find out here..

I have had a mini coupé for 2 years it’s just a basic 1.6 2013 one. Now next week I pick my 2015 john copper works coupé!! I am beyond excited 🥰 I’m happy Mini give me a years warranty 😅 my 2013 one was broken when they sold me it 🤣 (mini didn’t know, apparently cost them 2k to fix 🙈) hopefully my 2015 one is good :) I am beyond excited. The exhaust makes some lovely noises on the JCW version xx
The JCW noise is unreal! Good luck with the new one 👍👍
Good result on MOT if just the two rear arms 👍🏻
Good video! Build-up and seeing the MOT take place was interesting.👏🏽👍🏽
Cheers bud. Something a little different. 👍
seen another RUclipsr have that exact same issue with a mini cooper he bought from Copart, bending those arms must be a common thing on the Mini's when they get forked. Great video.
Yeah I think it is when getting forked 😬. Thank you
Good job just love the four legged friends 👍👍👍
i got a mini from copart . it had one bend arm..
Great see you bk Hugo is amazing 👍
👍🙌🏽🙌🏽
So every mini from copart will have the same damage.
Not be buying from them that's for sure.
Top video.
Pro trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching loads of movies lately.
the mould can come from bad fitting door rubbers. Had it on a car of mine that was left standing. Moisture gets in and mould formed on the seat backs and seat belts. Replaced the door rubbers, cleaned the interior and all good since.
Yeah I think it’s probably that. Nothing to indicate anything serious 👍
Seen a few other salvage mini vids with the same damage on the rear arms. Always down to the forks picking them up. Relatively cheap and easy fix though.
You have a collection of the most wonderful dogs
Very interesting video mate, i wonder how many cars are damaged in a similar way by the forklift drivers at copart ?
Cheers mate. I suspect a few unfortunately
Bad news about those rear arms, nice easy fix at least though.
Another great video that's just unlucky about those arms.
Do you think this was cat n from a previous accident? Possibly something to do with the drivers side rear quarter? Surely the damage at the front wouldn't have wrote off the car?
I think the insurance probably assessed the car as a whole. Wrote it off due to the front and de-valued it considerably due to the rear quarter.
Love the new intro bro 👌
Definitely think that should be flagged to copart. Even if it's been in an accident before you don't need them adding to the damage.
Where did you source the headlights from if you don’t mind me asking?
Got the headlights off eBay here;

These Copart motors seem to be a lottery, compounded by the fact that they just hurl them about using a forklift with total disregards to any damage they may cause!
Great vid but why not change the arms yourself ? Your other mate doing body repairs has so many scrao mini's to take arms off. A quick easy job and great for the channel. Hope your not turning into other channels were they get others to fix for them !
MOT ran out. Only have the weekend. It was already there. Made sense to leave it there. Defo doing more bits on it but can see the benefit of taking back home in the snow just to put some arms on 😬😂
That’s a smart wee beastie
That bonnet damage will come out quite easily with a good pdr technician. Watching on other channels how Copart move cars around that's definitely - damage inflicted by them. Looks like a tidy car otherwise - I'd be tempted to just flat and polish that rear quarter and quickly flip the car as it is with a fresh Mot. 👍
Yeah the bonnet is very flimsy. Yeah they aren’t too fussed about it- they are paid for and have really cornered the market in salvage so they are not really too fussed + they are salvage vehicles so can’t complain too much. 👍
Should have taken that blokes scooter towards the trade in 😂
Wouldn’t have minded that either 😂
Great vid m8
Thank you mate 👍
Spritzing that black orchid like there’s no tomorrow 😬
Had to man. The car stank. The most potent fragrance I own- did the trick 😬
@@SLRebuilt Not surprised it worked, quality stuff!
You're lucky copart don't charge you for the extra damage! The mould happens on any car left sitting around in the damp for a couple of weeks. Doesn't look flood damaged at all.
Indeed! Yeah had it before- definitely not flooded. 👍
Copart Uk they like to beat on the cars when loading Iv always had issues with them, have you had a PDR guy look at that Bonnet should be fixable if it hasn’t cracked paint. Also if that cars mouldy and stinks I’d be looking for water leaks p.S where’s my crouch walk 😆
Crouch walk is coming. I’ve filmed it- you’ll have to wait a few weeks 😂😂😂
@@SLRebuilt ahhh what a hero I’ll be waiting 🤣🤣
The damage to make a total loss was less than Co part did
Really was!! 🤦♂️
hi have you seen the mini Works GP ah there you go and but
The works are a different breed. What a car they are. 👍
Got to ask, the other half has fallen in love with Hugo. What make and model is he? Lol
🙌🏽 he is a little show Sprocker (springer and cocker mix). Show dogs are more chilled and generally prettier 😂
Should be an easy fix. Surprised it was written off. You should invest in a battery charger as alternators can never properly charge a flat battery. You may end up with a ruined battery otherwise.
Nice car ,£30 road tax ,50 miles per gallon what's not to like do the wheels black they look better, got the JCW kit on it as well, in America one car channel had a row with a Fork lift Driver at Copart he damaged the underside of one of their cars. Great Vid .
Cheers bud. Read my mind about the wheels too 🙌🏽
Is there no comeback on Co-part for the suspension damage? You will pick up a bonnet on eBay cheaply but getting it delivered undamaged is another saga. It will be a nice Mini.
I read that Cat N & S damaged cars are more expensive to insure? Any experience of this with your Range Rover?
Nothing. Not even going to bother. Have no proof and it’s always ‘sold as is where is’. They got great t&cs. 😂
Not experienced any problems when coming to work insurance 👍
Keep it up 👍
The mould could be the problem to the smell. Shame on what the fork lift had done
Is this the new house or have you still to move properly
Moving end of March 👍
No wonder insurance is so expensive if they write of a car for so little damage!
I love reading all the driveway mechanics comments giving there expert opinions when half of them are the people that pay Halfords to change wiper blades.
What happened to part 1 ?
Joint delivery with the Cooper S 👍
Good old Copart cowboy forklift drivers strike again.
Make copart fix the damage its shocking
Done well tho 👍
That car has been in the drink buddy
Loving your work, should be an easy fix. Don’t forget your mask when you are out ;)
you dont need a shower you need a hazmat suit
Definitely weird watching someone on RUclips drive down streets that you know 😂
Really weird isn’t it 😬
@@SLRebuilt lol yes mate but keep up the good work love watching your videos
@@aj1776 thank you 😊 🙌🏽
Hmm lots of mould and written off for just a head light does seem like a flood car.
100% not flooded
What breed is Hugo 🦮
He is a show sprocker 🙌🏽
more damage caused by copart and you proberly payed retail money for a scrap car
Mould? Are you sure that isn't a flood car? To scrap a car because of a busted headlight and repairable bonnet seemed wrong when you first got it but if its been in a flood?
And that damage is definitely a Copart caused problem. Get the video off to them and make a claim as they delivered it.
Sure they have something in their terms and conditions about not being responsible for damage to vehicles in transit
If it was repaired previously it may have been deemed not worth the money of an official Mini headlight and bonnet with an insurance approved respray at the front end. Could see that racking up a fair price to an insurance evaluator.
Axa and copart tried to write off my 66 plate insignia 25000 miles during lockdown based on photos sent thru the system only when I questioned the guy arranging to pick it up I refused to let him take it as in between I took to local garage for quote to fix damage and it was £600 . Rip off duo
What kind of dog is Hugo my daughter loves him
He’s a show sprocker 👍
Copart Never accept any responsibility whatsoever for causing further damage and misrepresenting vehicle damage...
Always clean em 1st. Grubby🤮
Cringed when I saw you trying to straighten that bonnet edge by pushing up on it against the hinges...lucky you didn't damage them or mess up the alignment. Shame about the rear arms, guess just about every mini that gets lifted by a fork lift onto a transporter will get the same damage.
This isn't the first video i've seen of a car from Copart being delivered with underbody damage caused by a fork lift when loading for the fees they charge they should be more careful! Think you need to factor a professional valet into the refurb to get rid of the smell & mould! Surprised your body shop is closed wouldn't they be classed as a garage which can remain open during lockdown? Enjoyed your video should be an easy fix overall.
Yeah they should.
They two guys I use are sole traders and both unfortunately have been self isolating ☹️
Co part are cowboys
First!!
Pass
Typical off all salvage companies they all forklift them not bothered they got there money and you can’t prove they damaged it unless you go and view first and who would take pictures of the underneath anyway
Editing could be better for this one; a lot of unnecessary footage which makes the video seem like its dragging
Cheers for the feedback. Help me understand where I can improve? 👍
@@SLRebuilt a bit more straight to the point... there's a lot of sections which are just taking up time but no real meaningfulness/contribution of the footage. (My first ever negative comment on any video of yours so isnt hate)
@@f_2019 appreciate it man 👍
I think it was a good video 🎥
@@MrKewee45 not saying the video wasn't good, just felt there was a lot of footage in this episode that had no real purpose/was there to fill the time. Could have cut that out and had straight to the point content. If you look at the episode, despite the length of the video, not a lot was actually done to the car
Audio poor in this one, felt rushed and full of filler. Will still keep watching though 😄
First time using the go pro on this one. All other projects on hold so thought this one deserved to be started 👍
Inform copart. They shouldn't be lifting cars with fork lifts anyway. Stupid way to move a car.
Sadly nothing to see here
Embarrassing first thing u would do is clean and prep car to be presented at mot
Cars aren’t failed on for being a little dirty.

Typical copart
Where did you get those number plates made from bro
