Ben The Coin Geek
Old Pueblo Coin
Ben, I gotta give you props. Almost every single day you’re cranking out and releasing new videos. There are some days where I’m so exhausted after work I don’t even have the energy to WATCH your video and yet you MAKE one every day. Amazing!
I appreciate that!
Can you imagine how cool it would be to have a Morgan bag fragment slab that the Morgan has bag textile toning !! That would be awesome!!
Nice wide spread on the coins today. Thanks ben!
Well done interesting show today.
Cool Beans & Medals! Shaken not Stirred, lol
The entire planet loves Old Pueblo...
It's a fact, they just do.
That is one Cool Short Snorter!
Hey Ben - My oh my - Where have I seen this type of gimmick before before??? Oh I remember - when I sold sports cards many years ago they had swatches embedded in the actual baseball card among other things like the Berlin Wall.
Also you eluded in possibly seeing a number in the bag piece - well they did that with sports jerseys also - and yes they commanded a premium.
The question I always had is how can one actually verify the authenticity????? I mean why would they lie about it - that would reduce their integrity immensely!
They even had cut out of Presidential signatures and other famous people and put them in the cards!!! I remember seeing Thomas Jefferson.
So this may be a new thing to coins but sports cards have had them for a long time.
Some of the other items - a piece a tire from a race car, or piece of drivers suit - I piece of a football - baseball etc. -
Will will see an autograph of the designer of the coin next???
Don't rule anything out!!!!!
Gee next time I am in your store I will look for some of those dropped coins / stamps = Finders Keepers???
Best wishes
I'm surprised that they straight graded the Buffalo with the big rim ding.
A bag fragment? You've got to be kidding me.
Right?? 😂 I can’t wait to sell my coins because I know the dealers will be paying premiums for my coins
Best pick them CC Morgans that rolled off the table 🤪 think I heard a MS-70 CC rollin around on the floor 😁✳️ Enjoy your show thanks for letting us see you're collection ✳️✌️
Thanks 👍
Went by the store today. Dug through the foreign coin box. Had a great time. Thanks for the wet wipes, reminded me of playing coins in video poker machines.
Make sure you ask CAC to certify that bag fragment as well🤣. Have to hand it to NGC just when they're running short of new gimmicks they come up with this bag fragment thing.
I have some old mint canvas bags. Do you think NGC will buy them from me?
That gold medal is stunning
I laughed so hard when i saw the bag fragment in the slab for the CC Morgan lol
With the 1883-O Morgan not having a numeric grade, how does that compare with an uncirculated details grade coin?
Great videos
I think the whole bag fragment thing is all gimmick. I don't believe I'd pay a premium for them. Also, it's hard to believe they gave the 38 Buffalo a 66 with that distracting rim ding above the Y in liberty. The Lincoln has a noticeable ding on Abe's chin but gets a 68? I think NGC is going up a full grade on many of these bag series coins.
It does make one wonder. Especially because my recent subs, and those of several of my coin friends, have shown them to have become otherwise quite conservative.
That Greek-looking gold coin is beautiful
That, sir, is one fine smorgasbord of coins/medals/chips/things.
Nice stuff and fun too. Thanks
Going to rewatch, want to understand bag fragments better. So many different denominatios had to have multiple bags?
You need to give us more than two days to watch the video before the auctions end! Some of us 9-5 desk guys don't get to the video until after Monday morning coffee!
Monaco casino chips are nice. Thanks
You bet
This was a like a walk down memory lane for me. I actually remember those morgans for sale at Calico. I had one at some point as a child, and I have no idea where it went now. Lol. Those bag fragments I've been looking at lately, they remind me of jersey cards from my sports cards collecting days. Thank you Ben, always great content.
Thank you
Beautiful world coins. Thanks for sharing. New Sub
Thanks for the sub!
Nice assortment today.
43 steel penny, Iwo Jima flag raising. Semper Fi 🇺🇸🫡
the Monte Carlo ticket is probably a ticket someone bought to go into the Casino. I was there about 20 years ago and I recall you had to pay or at least have a ticket to go in.
Question is does a coin with a rim ding get a 66+ on the nickel? In you opinion. & also does the ms 67 Morgan deserve that grade? I think I lost trust in NGC right there.
It’s really easy to
Miss a rim Nick-
It isn't the first time they have been dropped Ben, none of us saw a thing hahaha
You mentioned, not that many people collecting Roosevelt dimes... I'd love to find a 1955 (mint mark doesn't matter) graded MS66 or 67 with really great eye appeal...
doesn't need full bands... everything on eBay is meh, so I hope one will get featured in a video 🤞😃
If I get one- and it get featured, you may not get to it in time to buy it!
@@TheCoinGeek my favorites always have Sold or NFS in the show notes 🤣🤣🤣
Man those stamps sure make noise when dropped ....stamps I say 🙈🙉🙊
I wanted that Calico and bid to a point but it went for way more than I though. I camped there many times as a kid with Scouts. Planning on going with my son and his Cub Scout Pack this year if we can.
@8:22 "Maybe we have to edit the sound"....
Easy there, Mr Coppola 😉😉. You just finally changed your background from that stained ink-jet print out. No need to start embracing advanced video production quite yet 😉😉
😁
Stamps, just stamps 😂
Those premiums on the bag fragment coins are an indication that the coin market has reached the tulip bulb phase.
Hi Ben
🏆
That first gold medal is super attractive, coming from someone who doesn't buy medals
Also you need to fix the link to the 14-D Lincoln
Hey Ben
🥈
Interesting and wildly varied collection. The San Marino (you guessed right 🙂) gold is really unusual. Question: In your general area, do you think all but the rarest numismatic gold is already being regularly melted?
Sounded like you dropped a bunch of silver stamps 😂
Price of Silver Dollars just fell!
Please explain why there is no grade on the 1883 0. Why not just put 61 or 63 or whatever. Help so I don't waste $$. Thanks Jeff
And minus the color, what grade are you buying. Can't be just a 60 or 61, I'm confused..
PCGS and NGC don’t put numeric grades on “problem” coins. ANACS will
But the 1883 o isn't a problem coin right? just bu. Why no numerical grade? Sorry for my ignorance...
I didn’t realize they also had original bag slabs for mercs. Cool stuff but at the same time feels gimmicky.
The penny has a photo of the raising the flag on Iwo Jima.
Hi Ben. How can that 1884-O Morgan Dollar be an MS67 with that flattened ear and flattened hair over the ear? I have doubts it is even uncirculated. And how can you not show the reverse on the 38-D Buffalo Nickel? BTW, would I be worth more if I were an Old Fatty? *>>-->* 🦉
New Orleans Morgans often have very weak strikes. So it’s not wear, there just wasn’t enough pressure on the die during the minting process to get the nice detail.
The flat ear doesn’t bother me because it’s how the coin was made…apparently the Buffalo isn’t getting the love!
Don, us old fatties are priceless
Love the thalers I have a 1/6th 1697 but not as crist as yours lol
Very hi retail4
