I went to store this week and had the best conversation with one of the cashiers. She worked at a nursing home during you know what. The staff threw away everything in the library, they took the mailboxes out of the residents rooms and took and opened their mail. The residents were completely cut off from family and each other. She quit after two weeks because residents were constantly crying from isolation after just two weeks. We must not let this happen again. If you can bring family home or help them with independence, please pray about doing so. If you have neighbors that are independent, but need a little help, please take time to check on them, bake them some bread or offer to run errands. My sweet neighbors in their 80s watch MSM and are already afraid to go out. The WH website lists over 1million deaths. Dear Jesus please help us for what is to come against us!

As I got the notification for this video, I was reading an article in the WSJ about how “rosy” the economy is. I’m not an economist but I did take economics in college, and the economy isn’t that rosy. The benchmarks they used can be easily explained using common sense, but they won’t tell you that. Stock up and prepare now, fill your pantry, fill your freezers. That’s your best hedge against inflation, it’s going to be bumpy and the road will get rougher but we will make it through this. Prayers and blessings for the community. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

I have a full sized fireplace with a full "heatelater" insert. I have 2 squirrel cage fans that pull air over the manifold and insert the duct directly into the central heat & air intake. Lost power 6 days once and ran both fans off a little 2000 generator and heated the house during below freezing temperatures. We cooked over fire, stayed warm and had a great time as a family using wood. Please don't tell Joe Biden we did this, he will blame the next hurricane on the climate change we have caused by burning wood.

Thank you. We (misses/me) heated our NH home with a wood stove for over 30 years. It warmed us. We used it to cook on, dry our clothes (on racks), kept a kettle going on it and often sat reading near it. We maintained a 3 to 4 year supply, mostly from our wood lot. In NH you can purchase a permit to harvest cord wood on Nat'l Forest land, buy truck loads of log length from loggers, get some free stuff from the power line clearing, buy from folks who sell it. We even got free wood from storm cleanup. We miss it.

Patra, just wanted to share something with you. For people that burn pine. Or any wood for that matter. And old lady in our community told me years ago. That she put her potato peels in the wood stove and it kept creosote from building up. I know that she and her husband lived in the same place many years. They decided to have their chimney cleaned. The man that cleaned it couldn't believe how clean it was. He asked them. When was the last time it was cleaned. They told him never. WHAT, she told him about the potato peels. He was amazed. Anyway this is what I was told. Ask some of the old timers and see if they have ever heard of that. Love you channel. Thanks sharing with us. God bless

Besides trying to be frugal and pull back on certain things what we eat, I personally am trying to watch my portions, for the sake of trying to lose weight but also stretching the meals out as well. Like you said, Patara, do it now "while the wood is green", instead of waiting until we're in a situation where we must cut back just to make sure we have enough. I've been prepping for a while now, and praise God, I'll be ok; it's the darn oil heat I'm worried about once again this winter (I live in SW PA). My landlord was hoping to get it switched out, but because of other things happening that he had to fix here and there, we're all stuck with most likely paying huge bills again 3-4x between Oct-April. They don't do "extra" stocking or canning. While I am so very thankful, I sat outside just thinking I cannot understand why she didn't can it all. Its so obvious we are going to need as much as we can lay our hands on. I'm canning every single thing in sight ... even if its one jar of something. We heated and cooked on it for the 8 days we were without electricity. We even boiled water for bathing etc also. Went to the store today for just a few items. $65 for sandwich ham, bagels, cream cheese, mayonnaise, vinegar, and a red onion. We also bought some Sparkling Ice drinks. The vinegar and onion are for pickled eggs, they'll keep 4 or 5 months in the fridge and we have plenty. The mayo was to make egg salad out of the eggs where the yolks were to close to the edge so I couldn't pickle them. The mayo is $9! It's going to get worse folks, buy extra when it's on sale and put it away. And can like your life depends on it, because it does!❤❤❤

We are finding out that counties are receiving grants in exchange for bringing these people here. They have backpacks and government given boots on. Our food banks have said they are not from here, definitely a different accent from ours. I’ve never had to lock my door at night and it breaks my heart to have to start 😞

We have a monthly budget for the local Senior Food Pantry donations; and sometimes we squeeze a bit more. In August ('23) we came across pumpkin puree at a good price with a Nov 2023 expiration date; and a lesser brand for the same price with a 2024 date. We asked first if they had storage capability until Thanksgiving and did they want a head start on the Thanksgiving baskets IF we had money at the end of the month and IF there was any left. The answer was YES, YES!
We are not super preppers but, when it makes dollars and cents we are extending our prepper ways beyond our household. With respect to our Senior Panrtry donations, we probably donate more than many but it is FAR from what we would like to. Consequently, we strive to maximize the dollars we do spend with the most amount of food using the same concepts we fill our larder with.

I always burn pine, but usually only as fire starters. I store containers of small pine sticks, because nothing is worse than freezing to death or getting sick from being cold. I would advise everyone to get you at least one 5 gallon bucket of pine chips and save it in your emergency unit. To use, wrap the dry pine stick or chip in paper and light. It will catch fire immediately or almost immediately. It's also great to re-kindle fires. Next very important advices, make sure your chimney is triple wall or at least double wall and get wood stove or/and chimney thermometers, and finally clean your chimney and wood stove as often as possible. Always, better safe than sorry. Laziness kills.
