@@CommanderMT101 this isnt true. Here johnny must be playing 2 steps up. Pretty much all the smiths catalogue has a variety of tunings, right until the end.
On some songs on Hatful of Hollow (Peel sessions) the guitars are tuned up a whole step and capo at second fret = capo at 4th fret standard tuning. Handsome Devil, What Difference Does It Make were also played in this tuning. I think Johnny was still working it all out with Morrissey then.

Yeah, a lot of their earliest recordings have their songs played a whole step up. I think this is one of the last recordings where they do this.
