Not gonna lie, I was scared out of my mind trying this out. Specially since mine got stuck when the lens was expanded, which required a different process. But thank you so much! You saved lives here!!!
This worked exactly as you showed!!! The trick is definitely trying to move the pieces on the side to meet the prongs and not trying to move the prongs themselves. It’s like you have to move the two sides, in unison, in opposite directions, for it to work. I was devastated when my camera gave me the initial error message on vacation a few weeks ago but wanted to for sure have it working by my daughters first day of school tomorrow. We have taken a picture with my Instax Wide every ‘first day’ for the past several years and I’m so happy we can continue the tradition tomorrow. This video was a game changer. Thanks again for sharing. You made my night!!!! 🥹
Wow, this was a lifesaver. An additional note on the film, though! I didn’t experience a total loss of the film stack. Only the frame that was already loaded was completely exposed (all white). The next one had a cool light leak effect, but by the third frame, it was more or less normally exposed. So no need to throw the whole stack away!
Thank you so much for posting this video. My daughter’s camera has not been working for months and I was debating whether to send to repair or just buy another one. I just found her camera this morning and did a google search and I found this video. I was skeptical and figured I had a 50/50 chance to fix this camera. Her camera had the exact same problem and I did what you did and I fixed the camera! My daughter leaves for her Junior year of college tomorrow and when I showed her the video of her camera working - she was ecstatic!!!! This camera was a gift for her 18th birthday and is still her favorite gift. Thank you so much for posting this video. You saved us money and I look cool AF for fixing it 😂
I RARELY RARELY make a comment. Like RARELY!!!!!! But OMG THANK YOU!!!!! I fixed my camera with just seeing this. Thank you so much I cried because I thought I was going to have to buy a new one. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Edit: IMPORTANT, when you take out the film and put it back in to test if it still takes photos, the FIRST photo will come out blank. But the REST of them (depending on how many you had left in the film pack inside) DO COME OUT. I wasted 4 photos that I took at the wall just to not throw out the film packet as it was. That is what happened for mine when I fixed it using the demonstration of this video, can't say it will be the same for everyone else in terms of the film. YOU are a hero without a cape. It worked for me, THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thanks! This helped! Also notice if you had any shots left, do not throw away the cartridge. When you take it out only the first film gets ruined due to light exposure. The remaining film is covered and safe from light. Tho when you re-insert the cartridge, take a picture as if you just inserted a new one and keep in mind that the counter resets back to 10 so you can’t really tell how many shots are left.
Had almost the same problem but my lens was stuck out, gently pushed it back in while off and then did exactly what you did in your video realigning the pins and it works perfectly!! Thank you for the video!!
Omg!!!!!!!! IT WORK!!!!!!! IAM SOOOO SOOOO HAPPY THANK U SO MUCH!!!!! I WAS REALLY SAD, MY INSTAX WAS ABOUT WEEK OLD AND I WAS SOOO SAD, THAT IT STOP WORKING. NOW I WATCH YOUR VIDEO AND IT WORK AGAIN IM SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!
@Krysthea Casupanan I don't know if it will help you but I had the same problem and while watching this video I realised that I put the batteries the wrong way........ Just check it, probs will help, but maybe it's just me who's too stupid to own one of these 😂
@@polinapower6538 wow now I feel really dumb lol. When I put them the right way I had the same problem as its shown in the video, so I did it as her and my instax is working again xd Also only the first picture didn't develop, but others were OK🤗
I THOUGHT MINE WAS DEAD. So I bought another new one, threw in some fully charged rechargeable Energizer batteries, DEAD. I didn't want to use the batteries that came with it, in case I had to return it. Tried some troubleshooting, and noticed the battery slot says "LR-6 **1.5V x 4*" Looked at the rechargeables I was using, TURNS OUT THEY'RE *1.2V*. Put in some fresh new batteries, IT TURNED ON. I did the same with the first one, BACK FROM THE DEAD* 😲 Worked for me, hope it works for you!
Camera arrived this week with this error code. Really didn't want to return camera and so happy I found your video. Your fix worked like a charm. And, yes. The user manual was useless. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing this amazing process of your repair, my wife is gonna be so relief. We just noticed that our camera wasn’t working and we were so sad. You save us!! 🎉
Omgggggg you just saved my camera!!!!!!!! I have been using my instal wide 210 for years and it’s amazing to see it back on working on again 😢😢😢😢 THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thank you for this video. I took my wide ins-tax on a trip to Colombia and when I arrived - it wouldn't function at all. I didn't get to use it. I just fixed the issue back home thanks to your video.
I have the Instax sq6 square camera. I was out taking pictures of a waterfall and tripped on a stomp while walking to another spot to get another angle and hit my camera on the ground. It looked like the lense was crooked and the lights in the back were blinking and the lense would not do it to close up when I turned the camera off. I was devastated as this was just a Christmas gift this year and 2 days after getting it, it seemed to be ruined. I came online and found this video and fixed the problem. All I had to do was take the film out and go into where the lenses was crooked and pushed on the side that looked like it was not even and wahla it popped into place and it was fixed. Thank you so much for your help!!
When I moved it, it shifted up and I thought I screwed it up. But I put the "thingys" together and it worked! Scary, but effective. Thanks for the video!
thank you, honestly can't believe they released something with such a dinky and annoying problem -.- mine is only like 7 months old and stopped working
Wow thank you for video you saved my camera!! The lens wasn't so off like in vid but I pushed it out then in and aligned it in middle and boom camera works again!! Before the fix camera was completely dead like without batteries, no noise no light, tried new batteries but not helped. Thanks again 😊
IT WORKED FOR ME TOO!!!! I didn’t get the error code in the video. My camera just wouldn’t turn on at all. So I went to a dark room, removed the film and put it in a bag, then I went out of the room and I opened the camera. I didn’t have anything wrong with my grooves like in the video. So I just moved the grooves around gently, up and down to open and close the lens. Then I put back the batteries to try it AND IT WORKED!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! p.s. the numbers are counting down a little oddly now (it’s supposed to show 8 but it shows 9) so I’ll probably try to move the grooves gently again but it takes pictures perfectly so that’s all I care about. Hope this comment helps someone else!!!
holly molly you saved my camera! i already bought new batteries thinking it’s the battery problem and just overall was thinking on returning this almost new camera, it’s my second already , first served well 3 years... p.s. the moment it “clicks” back in place is scary though i thought i broke it for real Thanks soooo much
Yo this helped me soo mucch!!! I mean i tried so many times to put the bolts in the right places but all along i was doing it wrong. And i figured it out watching ur video. Thank u soo much!!!! Such a life saver cuz this camera costed my bf a lot so I didn’t want to upset him. ❤️✨ Again thank u soo much!!!
hi hello! i have had this camera for about 3 years now, but the last time it worked was in april 2021. it does not want to turn on at all, it doesn’t even make the little sound when trying to turn it on, nor does it say anything on the screen thingy. i have tried changing the batteries, but thats not the case either. i study photography, but i really need help with this couse i think that i can bring this camera back to life. thanks :)
So ours was off track and my BF was able to get it back on. Noise is still happening tho. The lens is still not moving at all when turning on. Can someone tell me what direction their lens spins? Mine will continuously spin to the left manually but if I try to go right at all the main mechanism seems to catch. So if the lens is suppose to go to the right I'll know more of what's wrong. Then I can hopefully figure out how to fix it. Thank u
Mine has the same issue, got it back in the grooves it makes a noise but still gives the same error n lens wouldn move , if u were able to get it fixed somehow , can you pl guide me on it..regards
It’s helped me so much my father was so stressed out to Because the place that we took it to get exchanged tore out my film and ripped it apart and they wouldn’t replace it thank you for helping me fix it
KurioussLifeofB GOD, thank you sooo much with helping. Mine camera wasn’t working exactly the same as yours. I even thought of buying new camera, but with your help, my camera is alive!
This happened to me, too. I copied your suggestion, but I'm not sure if I've fixed it. I haven't got film in there, so nothing happens when I turn it on except for the "checking for film" noise. I'll get some and test it. What a piece of junk if this is happening so regularly to people. That is going to be an expensive issue if it happens while there is film in there.
It really worked for me too! Most likely it turned on by itself in my backpack and showed the exact signs yours did. I thought i broke it when i followed your instructions but everything is good now. Thank you so much!
READ IT IF YOUR INSTAX WIDE 300 IS NOT WORKING!!! I have got mine a week ago and it did not work,it was not even turning on and had no sign of life. And the reason: in my country we put batteries minus to plus and plus to minus in everything, in tv remote and ect. And then my mum told me that there were signs on camera that one of them should were minus to minus and plus to plus and it worked! Try it.
Has anyone had this problem with the toffee version? I can't find the thing that she moved to match the other one. I don't know if they have different mechanisms
My camera is having an issue where it has no problem turning on and off but no other functionality works. I cant take pictures, I cant adjust the exposure or flash, the LED screen is blank with a line going through it. Ive tried replacing the batteries but I'm still suffering the same issue. The lens is completely fine and it hasn't been dropped. Apparently it was "tested" when i purchased it yet it hasnt worked since i got it. Ive contacted Fujifilm to see if theres anything i can do to fix it otherwise im just gonna have to send it in.
Wow, this is exactly what was wrong with my camera, my first film was over exposed but the rest of the pack was still good and developed correctly. Thanks!
I have read that changing out the film in a dark room wouldn't expose the films. I have yet to try it, but some people use this method to switch out the various mini instax films with designs in between photos.
I have had this happen to me before but on a good note when I travel I just take the batteries out or just one battery out so it doesn't accidentally turn on because if it turns on in a bag the lens can't come out which derails the system
Mine is inside the groove but the lens does not come out. I even used W-40. Best thing in the world but it does not move. Because I can hear a cranky noise.
You can take out the film in a dark room and keep it there or even put it in a really dark bag until you fix the camera, so you won't lose the film, because films could be really expensive :D
Unfortunately, I'm not sure what else could possibly be wrong with yours. It happened to me twice and I was able to fix them using the same method. It worked fine both times.
