Just watched/listened to this again. This is ancient, of course. But putting it on a large screen with an appropriate sound system.... Yep, this STILL kicks ass!!! No Rod Evans, who personified CB to me in the 70s. But even without him, this was a laudable lineup...Occasional shades of Steppenwolf with the keyboards.... pretty good stuff. Think I'll keep listening. Thanks for this post!
Captain Beyond was an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971. Members were singer Rod Evans, guitarist Larry Rheinhardt, Lee Dorman, and drummer Bobby Caldwell. Evans had previously been the lead singer of Deep Purple, and Rheinhart and Lee had been in the rock band Iron Butterfly
@@neutrondust Thank you bro ... I think in this video only Bobby Caldwell is there. from the original formation as you mentioned .. correct if I am wrong
Is the original line Up with Larry Rhino, Bobby Caldwell and Lee Dorman on bass, the singer is not Rod Evans, but they released one third álbum with another singer and I don't know if IS that, Who is there with them on stage...anyway they sound amazing like always do...
And after have seen this amazing gig I can say for sure that Bobby Caldwell is my fav drummer from the 70s, knowing well the top skilled ones, Bonham, Appice, Brufford, Paice, Moon, Mitchell, Baker, Alan White, Bill Ward, and many others...
Reinhardt came up w/ some of the most unforgettable guitar parts ever. RIP man you rocked.
Amen to that
Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt - guitar
Bobby Caldwell - drums
Jimi Interval - vocals
Jeff Artabasy - bass
Dan Frye - keyboards
It took 3 guitarists to replace Rhino. The new line up sounds amazing though. Check out the Aces live show
Dancing Madly Backwards....amazing classic
In the early 70's seeing Captain Beyond peaking on "Window Pane" was a perfect tripping experience!
same here..... '74 to be exact....

I was there and saw the band
Greatest band of all time 😊
Totally agree
Just ran onto this, thinking I wouldn't like it. Very partial to the 1st two albums' exact lineup. Keyboards? C'mon man! But WHOA!!! THIS KICKS ASS!!

Too bad Rod left the band.

Top 50!😊
Dan Frye is a John Lord cover!

No es Rod Evans!!!
No one knows where Rod is. Help us find him!!
That opening is poor.
I always loved Rhino. Rod Evans was the best vocalist. Willie Daffern was a good replacement. Jimi kind of good.
I can see all the original line up there at the stage...but is that Willy Daffern the substitute of Rod Evans???

No, it's Jimi Interval, singer of Captain Beond from 1998 to 2003
