That’s crazy. This is THE most overlooked series about music production on all of the Web.
Just fantastic knowledge to be gained here!

Just - WOW. This was so brim with rich philosophy ... gold, I say...gold. Thank you Puremix and Mr Scheps, these have been a treasure.
I have to say how much it meant to listen to Joe and Andrew commensurate on the mix for ‘Speaking In Tongues’. I too adore the sound of that record. When I was just a pup and scavenging through my brothers record collection, I was introduced to that album and many others. Later in life as a twenty-something musician who had some mic’s and some recording gear, I was re-collecting those records and many had the name - Alex Sadkin on the back. Joe described his work as ‘sculpted’ and that is what I heard too. To me it was opulent, the exact opposite of Steve Albini (who I also love and admire) but those Sadkin records captivated my imagination so much and after I learned of his untimely accident way back in ‘87, I decided to start preparing music under the band name, Sadkin, as an overture to him. I know it was only for a minute in this interview but it meant a ton to hear Joe talk about Alex’s mixes. I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been performing and releasing self produced material under the name Sadkin since 2017. So glad to hear his name finally come up between two giants of the mixing community. 🖤💙🙏
