After Xion and Xehanort combo wombo emotionally destroyed me for couple days straight, I fought against Yozora once and was like "nope, dat shit is beyond my skills." And just gave up. Haven't looked back since.

If you beat Xion and MX you can do it. Look up a video to see the opening and proper dodging and guarding. It is hard but doable. Very doable.
I'm fully aware that I can probably do it eventually, but there was no fucking way in hell I'd have tried it after the bullshit that was Xion and Xehanort fights. I was too mentally exhausted after those two.

Your experience is something we have in common. though it sounds like a joke... the death tip is correct. . . study his movements, sora doesn't have to move too much to win, Yozora's fairly predictable if you pay attention to his audio cues and habits. this and red = block - blue = dodge. I believe in you.
Sure bud, a boss who can literally link ANY of his ultra fast flashy moves in a random order is "fairly predictable".
Even if you listen to his cues or study his movements you need to learn muscular memory or you will not be able to react in time.
Ffs even if you learn how to avoid his attacks, you still need to avoid single mistakes or he'll blast you out of the planet or steal all your shit.
Don't act as if he's an easy boss. In order to defeat him, you need hours of practice.

With the way this fight is set up to pretty much make you lose and play that cutscene, it seems like Nomoura wants to replace Sora and have Vs 14 take over the KH franchise
maybe if he actually made the thing they wouldn't have pulled him.

Like I understand for being upset at Nomura for the ending of KH3. It was pretty much wtf and everyone gets a happy ending bs and that's honestly a fine opinion to have.
However to say that Yozora "comprised the story & mistreated the characters" (despite the fact Yozora was never even mentioned in tha actual story and he only shows up to help start the next arc in the series by the END of the arc anyways) is actually just a tiny bit a dumb dumb moment
And ok I will be blunt wtf is the problem with FFx13 being apart of KH?. As long as it doesn't forget about the main cast, has proper development and has almost little to no plot holes, we should be good. This isn't even me trying to debate. Just a genuine question as I don't see any problem with it

The way you were slowly zooming in on Yozora's face at the beginning of the video reminded me of when the room was tilting in DDLC.
I admit I beat Yozora at lvl 99 on Standard, after watching a couple of videos to find out how to counter some combos, and it still took me two whole days. I cannot even imagine the pain to beat him on Critical without any prior knowledge of his moves
Honesty, it's okay if you didn't beat him on critical. I didn't and probably won't. I did ReMind story on critical which was challenging enough. I went to did the data battles and went ... "Nope!" Instead, I fought them and Yozora with ez codes (turning off the one shot). Enjoy the fights that way. Now I am going back on standard with no codes to get through them.

I think thats all forms
Forms have an ability where you’re immune to status effects and reduced health is a status effect. Panaceas also remove/prevent it from happening for the duration it lasts
Stack elixirs and use Ariel over and over again. By shifting in and out of summons you should be able to get him down either all they way or to his last couple hits.

I gotta say this fight took me months to actually beat. I came back to it again this last week after watching your stream and finally beat him.
I experienced him ripping out that DM at the beginning of the fight so many times while none of my other friends did. For the longest time I thought it was a glitch. Turns out I'm just unlucky!
Now that I think about it, this fight kind of reminds me of the fight between Kirito and Heathcliff in SAO season 1. Yozora is basically a God and has all the tools in the world and Sora just has his wits and pure skill at the hand of the player. Idk why this made me think of that lol, but that's my 1% on the topic haha. (I know people gonna bash SAO lol so fire away)
