@@danielv943 yeah if your at max caps and someone buys something from your vendor doesn't matter what item it is or how much you priced that item at. It'll still let the other player purchase it. And you won't get any caps from it if your already at max. There's no hidden cap storage that the games holds your extra caps for you while your at max, you simply moss out and it doesn't stop others from buying. You either have to remove your vendors from camp, place an object blocking access to vendors and make sure vendors aren't near a window or door or you have to remove all items from vendors to keep people from buying. Even if you turn camp off if your in a party people in your party can still see your camp on map. Even if you lock your vendor behind a locked door people can still pick it and go in and buy. So definitely have mule characters and always shut down your vendors when you hit close to 30 to 35k caps. To keep yourself from missing out. Just a friendly suggestion

Dang, I've been playing FO76 for over 4 years now and always wondered why people did that. I'd go to a random vendor and see the insult or some other random note for 30-40k caps and think "Who in their right mind is gonna spend max caps on something that they can easily get for free just from playing around in the game." Love the intro to your video, I subbed just because of that.
I've been playing since release, that bot holds a special place in my life it was my first encounter by the junkyard workshop. I remember the feeling before the note not realizing that it wasn't hostile. After that note i was the hostile though 😂
I only started playing after watching the TV series but I'm loving the game so far. I've already got over 400 hours in the game. I wouldn't say I know what I'm doing yet so your Fallout videos are helpful. Thanks. 😂
It's good to hear your enjoying the game, there is so much to learn isn't there! I think that is one of the coolest things about it! Thank you for your kind words 😀
I believe I'm up to twelve insults lol. I also have them listed for sale at 40k but I was under the impression it was more of a display thing - I didn't know about the earlier vendor issues. I found him once at White Spring and when I interacted with him he said he was off duty or something similar.
Thank you for this video, i always related that to a quick cap sink that players left available to others, never knew about that glitch you mentioned, pretty brutal if you ask me, i don't have the most rare and powerful stuff, but took me a long time and luck to get.
Yep, people were able to by your favorite stuff even if it wasn’t listed for sale. A friend of mine lost their Explosive Quad-shot Dragon shotgun because of it. Also, in one of the patches that fixed it, it was still possible to by thing directly from the stash of your base had either a drinking or vanity fountain in it.
Can you do more content like this? I actually learned something that’s been almost a daily occurrence and have always wondered why. Now I know why people do it. So thanks
Most, like me, put things in my vendor @ 40k caps, as a display. I had an awesome Mr Fuzzy in my vendor, for 2076 caps, as a joke. Well, someone purchased it! So the next time I got one, I put it in for max caps. Also, it's good to have at least one thing in your vendor for max caps, because this exploit still comes and goes. It's also why I won't EVER put a stash box anywhere close to my vending machine, because it's used as part of the glitch.
I've been wondering about that for years. Thankfully, I've never had that happen to me despite not having an item at max cost, but that might be because I wasn't playing at the time or because it wasn't something you have to worry about as much on console. As for the Insult Bot, he pops up on me frequently enough, but he has a bad habit of showing up when I'm in the middle of a fight and therefore cannot hear him.
Yes, I had my All Rise taken this way, which happened about a week after vendors were released. I was devastated as it was my main melee weapon at the time. I would put it in my stash whenever someone nuked the Fissure Prime site. Go fight the queen, and come back to my camp, one day I did this and came back and it was gone. Took about a month to get it back after putting in a support ticket, guess they were making sure I actually did the quest, Mayor for a Day.
The first time I meet the insult bot, I was very sad, was new and thinking, that this dam thing really showed up, when you overpriced your stuff. The reason why I was sad - it was Christmas time and I finished with my christmas market camp, near wayward with a lot of stuff for free or really really cheap 🤣
@@GameChanger_Games It was. I want to do something nice for all the player and than this little thing showed up. But its all good today. Now my Christmas Camp is there every wintertime :)

I then dropped him 32 of em and told him they were common. He wasnt happy about it but still got ehat he wanted in the end. My other story was i threw one in for 20k become i had a extra slot. And someone actually bought it and gave it to a level 1000 who was shit talking my little shop. I offered their caps nack, but the guy had too many caps. So thwy let me keep em.
I remember when there was a trading glitch where people could steal from you in the trade menu still drop stuff to my friends cause it happend to one of my friends once
Huh, that is pretty interesting. Thanks for the backstory. Sadly, every time the insult bot ambushes me, it takes me a second to realize that's what it is and so I tend to miss the actual insults.
When I returned back to the game recently I had 3 notes on my character from years ago but I don't think I even noticed him back then 🤣 when I encountered him recently, I had to capture him on xbox game capture in the forest, heard him a bit late and was looking around for ages to find him! Luckily I was recording the next time! He's sneaky isn't he 🤣

I've been wondering why that note was so expensive. I worked retail back in 2020 so I knew the purpose for the joke about toilet paper being priced so expensive!😂
@@GameChanger_Games LOL right, it was Walmart and I was a stocker. Definitely weird seeing the aisle known to become paper forts becoming literally 100% void of toilet paper AND paper towels. You also used to have to have your vendor powered by a wire; you no longer have to do that now.

@@GameChanger_Games I have seen it so many times and was wondering why on earth people are selling it for so expensive 😂it’s like people selling the perfectly preserved pie. Did you really get that out of the machine or from the roof at west tec 😂
Here I was just assuming that it was put in their vendors to be displayed as a collector item and at a high price so nobody would buy it when hunting down the daily feat to buy something from another player. Good to know the real reason now, thanks.

@@MTi-xm4ek also I keep missing when things get bought, I was buying stuff at whitespring and my balance was 4000, I spent it down to 290 caps I fast travel home to add some plans to the vendor and suddenly my balance is 16,000 and there's no one at my camp lol
That is why you use absolutely worthless items, not something somebody might actually want. Somebody might want to actually spend 40k caps on a rare plan or legendary item. Nobody is going to want to spend 40k on an insult bot note or a pack of cigarettes.
There is a glitch to steal ones stash if you buy out the vending machine, that is why people have notes for 40k.
Thank you. That’s how easy it should be explained.
Thank you for explaining this. I am almost level 700 and did not know this. When I saw theses prices at players vendors I was like, “ you are out of your damn mind”. Lmao. Now I know and I will do the same thing. 😊👍

@@GameChanger_Games seriously! Only discovered you guys today but your channel is a breath of fresh air compared to the other 76 RUclipsrs. Keep up the great work ❤️
Dang, I've been playing FO76 for over 4 years now and always wondered why people did that. I'd go to a random vendor and see the insult or some other random note for 30-40k caps and think "Who in their right mind is gonna spend max caps on something that they can easily get for free just from playing around in the game." Love the intro to your video, I subbed just because of that.
As an end game player I always wondered about that! Now I know I will have to put one of those notes in my store just cause now.
It really only affected computer players. Also, the 40k toilet paper roll is the better option
nah i was on ps4 too
Notes weigh less, a stack of 100 notes still weighs 0. Trust me I was selling 100 toilet paper for 2020 each😂 got heavy.
I thought the toilet paper deal was just a joke during the pandemic here in the States when there was an inexplicable run on toilet paper…
I've been playing since release, that bot holds a special place in my life it was my first encounter by the junkyard workshop. I remember the feeling before the note not realizing that it wasn't hostile. After that note i was the hostile though 😂
Great video in explaining the crazy cost regarding You Have Been Insulted. Thank you 😀
Thank you for commenting 🙂 I really appreciate it 👍
This guy is like the courier in Skyrim, he finds me no matter where I am. 😂 I have come across him 18 different times while roaming around.
Haha noway, I didn't know you could find them off duty, that's brilliant 🤣
Thank you for this video, i always related that to a quick cap sink that players left available to others, never knew about that glitch you mentioned, pretty brutal if you ask me, i don't have the most rare and powerful stuff, but took me a long time and luck to get.
Same here, I don't exactly have the best gear but it took a while to get and I would like it safe! Thank you for commenting 🙂👍
Yeah i remember having a couple legacy weapons disappear like that back when the vendors were the new thing !
Can you do more content like this? I actually learned something that’s been almost a daily occurrence and have always wondered why. Now I know why people do it. So thanks
I had insult bot interrupt me mid dialogue... I had to go through the dialogue again
I don’t care
Good to know. I don't trust that it won't come back. So I am now going to put all of mine for sale on the vendor. Thanks!
3:44 I remember this I kept all my valuable stuff on me
I've only encountered him once, and it gave an honest laugh.
Love that old tv style!!
Thank you 🙂
lol , wow I thought it was a empty note
I have a 20stack of 38 ammo on my vendor for 40k each.
It's been there for years. Thanks Todd.
“Insultron” is amazing
I've been wondering about that for years. Thankfully, I've never had that happen to me despite not having an item at max cost, but that might be because I wasn't playing at the time or because it wasn't something you have to worry about as much on console. As for the Insult Bot, he pops up on me frequently enough, but he has a bad habit of showing up when I'm in the middle of a fight and therefore cannot hear him.
Thank you!!! I kil it but have a few insulted notes. I added one to my vendor!!!!!
thanks, now i'm gonna put my "you've been insulted" notes up for such high price lol
Haha, I have done too... Just incase!!!
@@gizmoandbackgaming Oh no 😔 that is such a shame. What did you use instead while you were waiting?
@@GameChanger_Games I used a super sledge hammer, but it wasn't the same. This is one of the first quests I do when I make a new character.
I'm glad you've covered this, I just assumed people were unoriginal and have a bland sense of humor.
Thanks I didn't understand why people did this my friend told me it was just cuz people didn't want the items at super high prices to be sold
Omg, That must have been horrible. He is a proper turd isn't he 😯 I bet you sold a lot of stuff tho, your stall sounds like a good one!
@@GameChanger_Games It was. I want to do something nice for all the player and than this little thing showed up.
But its all good today. Now my Christmas Camp is there every wintertime :)
I got 2 stories about the insult note that come to mind.
I had a guy looking for a Groll and told me the note was extremely rare voing for 40k and wanted to trade some Grolls off me.
Love the videos, keep up the great work!
I love the insult bot. I usually drop them at a vendor when they have stupidly high prices. 😂
He's sneaky isn't he 🤣
I have Snalligaster note for 40k, mainly because the Snalligaster creeps out my better half and she gets heebee geebees everytime she reads it lol
Haha, why are you making her read it? 🤣😂🤣
also, I've been playing fallout 76 for just over 4 yrs. and i heard about putting something in my vender at 40,000 caps. i don't think I've had the problem as you talk about but i still make sure that i have one or two things at max cost.
@@jjbguidry7789 It's for the best just incase isn't it 😕

I love how every person wo gets this piece of paper sells it for 10,000 caps like it's just a trophy at this point to the wacky things in the waste land
I've got some of insults on top price and some perfectly preserved pies also, just in case
I sell everything as cheap as possible, all ammo and explosives r 1 cap. Fusion and plasma cores 100% are 75 caps. Aid stuffs r 5 or 10 caps.
I use a more appropriate one, even though the bug is fixed, I have "Get RICH Quick" note at 40k. Just a fun bit of humor, if someone buys it, then it worked!
Haha, I love that 😀👍🙌
i didn’t even find this robot. the note just appeared in my inventory without even insulting me
@@kairrma I think he must have come by when you were busy like in a combat or something. When I came back to the game after not playing for a few year I had 3 notes on me but couldn't remember any encounters with the bot!
My shop has most of the stuff pretty cheap. So i have also 500 caps for toilet paper in stock.
And yes, there are actually people buying cheap plans, then some rolls of tp.
Shows me that not everyone seems that greedy in the game. (Looking at you guys, trying to sell a stock fixer for 15k+ caps... i sell em for 200 caps 😂)
I've been wondering why that note was so expensive. I worked retail back in 2020 so I knew the purpose for the joke about toilet paper being priced so expensive!😂
Oh my, that must have been a crazy time to work in retail 😯 the fallout 76 community is amazingly humurous and creative aren't they! It's fantastic!
@@GameChanger_Games LOL right, it was Walmart and I was a stocker. Definitely weird seeing the aisle known to become paper forts becoming literally 100% void of toilet paper AND paper towels. If anything it was low key humorous since it's usually milk and bread that gets raided during times of stress (like snow)!

Last year I came back to 76 after a two-year hiatus and was so confused by the price.
Not sure how many times I have met him but there have been times he has not made it back on one piece. I have not noticed that vendor glitch been playing for a while not quite from beginning but not very long after.
Didn't make it back in one piece 👀🤣 you slaughtered him didn't you?!?
Whoa whoa whoa... Was that "our Todd" a reference to "Brave New World"?
Is wasnt sorry, it's something people say in the north of Britain 🤣
@@GameChanger_Games awww. Would've been great if it had been a "Brave New World" reference how they always refer to Henry Ford as being "Our Ford" (or sometimes "Our Freud" when they conflate him with the father of modern psychology and noted cocaine enthusiast Sigmund Freud). However, being a 'North Britain' thing does not rule out the influence of Aldus Huxley here.
It's how I know the vendors have scrub plans.
I have been playing since the B.E.T.A. I have never heard of this Bug or had it occur to me.
This must be a fairly recent bug within the last few years.
The only thing I recall is that if you didn't have anything in your vendor, it wouldn't show on the map.
So, you always had to have at least one item in your vendor, one that no one would ever buy; i.e a useless note for 9999...
You also used to have to have your vendor powered by a wire; you no longer have to do that now.
You don't remember shortly after we got vendors that they went offline multiple times? I know they were removed at least 3 or 4 times for a week or so because of that exploit.
I have Comfy Pillows for 40k because who doesn’t want a comfortable pillow. 😃

@@GameChanger_Games I have seen it so many times and was wondering why on earth people are selling it for so expensive 😂it’s like people selling the perfectly preserved pie. Did you really get that out of the machine or from the roof at west tec 😂
It was a myth
Not one person has made a video showing the so called exploit in action, because it's not true.
Here I was just assuming that it was put in their vendors to be displayed as a collector item and at a high price so nobody would buy it when hunting down the daily feat to buy something from another player. Good to know the real reason now, thanks.
Your welcome, glad it helped clear some things up, I was so confused too when I first seen it in a vendor!
Didn't know about the bug, I have one for sale at 40000 caps because I thought it was funny when I saw others doing it lol. Plus it seems easy to get but I have about 300 hrs and I only have 2, it's about as hard to obtain as perfectly preserved pie.
