just ran across your video, very well made . I totally agree, design your own blades and the experience of making your own knife is a lot more meaningful. I've recently started making my own knives and using my own designs. Thank you for putting that out there.
I absolutely agree with what you said I myself did not drawl out the knife I am making i’ve literally been shaping it at random and it’s come out pretty well but I’m at the handle stage in my randomness and I’m looking for good ideas because I don’t wanna mess this part up lol
Little tip I found works really well for me. When finishing handles, especially in those small, hard to get areas. Go to a beauty supply store; nail files. They have all different grits. From 80 all the way to a mirror polish. They're pretty cheap and last a long time too. Outstanding build. Gave me some good ideas. Thanks. Keep them videos coming!
This served as great inspiration for a knife I’ve designed. I don’t have anywhere to make it, so it’ll be relegated to the sketchbook until I can make it a reality. Started calling it the Civ-Mod Bolo because I’ve wanted a bolo but no one makes it like I want it. So I decided to try to make it myself when I can
Very, very well done!! I love the symmetry and clean lines. The simplistic look belies the complexity of the actual build and attention to detail... And that edge speaks for its self. I'd love to own a knife like that....
Huge fan man! You are the reason I have started knife making. From hand tool making my first to getting more and more equipment and more serious about it. Thank you for sharing your passion and inspiration!
Being a good knife maker takes technique, for people to ask for your templates is just like a reference. Does not mean they don’t have creativity or lack any other skill for this endeavor. For beginners, its great to ask for templates because they can concentrate on forging or stock removal techniques more. Obviously people should always design they’re own blade at some point but people always want lol nice work👏🏻
Jeremy, A good test of the patients I am sure, but and excellent result! Your videos have provided inspiration and motivation to start learning the craft of knife making. Looking forward to the next one.
WOW!! I've been watching a LOT of knife making videos recently and this is the most beautiful looking knife I've seen. Also I love the workflow. Bravo!!!!
That is pretty much my version of a perfect '1 tool option'. I say pretty-much because i would want a finger-choil in something that big..but thats just me. You have a working hammer pommel there (with nice jimping as well), which i *LOVE,* I hate silly spikes that you're never gonna be able to use. A really nice 90% spine, good jimping, excellent handle contours (also hate blocky square scales), convex grinds..which is a superior grind in-general..but makes complete sense for a knife like this. Love the fuller as well. Good steel choice. Aesthetically pleasing (which is of course the most important part of any blade :D ). You did everything right on this blade, *color me impressed,* and somewhat covetous lol...and by somewhat i mean completely. Cant believe anyone would thumbs-down this! *Great* job man !!
Definitely like the voice over. Always enjoy all your videos, but from a learning stand point this is awesome. Love how detailed you are. Thanks for sharing.
Great job! Excellent fullers! Lots of great ideas for the beginner knife maker. Total video overall was great to watch. Thanks for sharing and also your time!
I want to make my own knife at some point and I really want to blacksmith one, but obviously that's gonna take some practice. I like the method you use as far as creating the designs and beveles. I think that's something a beginner like myself can handle. I am a creative person and I am fascinated with the art of knife making, I think it's something I could do quite well given some time to practice. Great job on this one!
Love it. Reason I quit posting my designs on my FB. I’m just like you. No problem someone making a knife like yours, but taking a design and calling it your own I hate. Really enjoy your channel and have learned a lot from you as well as others.
Great video and such an amazing knife it reminds me alot of my bk 9 which is a wonderful design. Thanks for the video it was very interesting and well done
Top class work and excellent videoing. The commentary you provided was most helpful in explaining the how and why of things and the absence of useless music was much appreciated!! liked and subscribed.
Little tip for starter makers... If you have a large knife you like draw round it multiple times on separate sheets of paper with a pencil and design your own from it rub parts out and add idea's until happy then copy that to new blank sheet and do same without loosing first ones you liked to get further ideas and directions to build on.
I personally enjoy these videos a bit more than the vlogs. I like both, but ones like this are just a little more my style. Keep up the good work, man!
the knife was very good, I follow all your videos and have not shown a full time, congratulations and thanks for sharing, a hug and greetings from Buenos Aires (Argentina) ...el cuchillo quedo muy bueno, sigo todos tus videos y hace tiempo que no mostrabas uno completo , felicitaciones y gracias por compartirlo, un abrazo y saludos desde buenos aires (argentina)...
I think I like the chopper more than before. I agree about not selling your templates, I think half the enjoyment with making a knife, or anything else is coming up with a design that satisfies you and that is completely yours. I'm a carpenter by trade, I probably have 8 or 9 journals full of sketches and part sketches of furniture, decks and other things that I have built in the last dozen years, I left all the other note books back in the UK when I moved to Spain otherwise I would have dozens, some sketches never get built but it's still interesting to look back at my own ideas.
Thank you very much! That is really cool. I like the idea of looking back at your past designs. You’re painted a great picture in my mind with your comment and I could only image the great stuff you have stored up in your journals. Cheers👍
OMG!!! Ja ví vários vídeos de confecções de facas aqui no youtube, mas essa foi a faca mais bonita que já vi até agora... que trabalho fantástico... Parabéns!!! um forte abraço direto do Brasil... Sucesso sempre!!!
Awesome I’m in the process of building comp., chopper thank you for the drilling tip using the 123 blocks

Fantastic! Love the voice over, it really helps to understand what your doing.
Thank you so much! I’m glad it helps. So many people get mad about them saying, “I can see what you’re doing I don’t need you to tell me!” 😆👍
After 2 years I am back for reference and I still love this video, you are as sharp as your knives and designs 👍🏼
That’s a beautiful design and well crafted.
I agree that you should try and design your own. I’ve taken references from other people’s designs but always make them my own. This is awesome!!👍🏼

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words. 🙏
