I bought my Carvana vehicle in mid-November 2021. I’m in May 2022 and I just got plates/registration last week. I’m telling you, it was such a hassle to go from phone call to phone call. It took so many phone calls every month and it seemed as if no one could do anything. I rarely drove because I didn’t want to get pulled over and thankfully I had an enclosed parking garage to not get ticketed. I dreaded this entire process and would not do it again. I feel for everyone going through this and for those that are still waiting for answers.
I literally got fired for bringing too much attention to a customer's issue where a customer was told when her contract was getting rebuild after title issues and it took 5+ months of dealing with her contract being rebuilt, several reps told her she will have the delayed months of rebuild( mind you she couldn't make payments while system showed no purchase or contract) she was told we will cover those payments. Until bridgecrest( the financing ) started threatening to tow due to lack of payments. very VERY long story short and many arguments with management later I was finally successful at getting carvana yo honor their word to her. No where in training do they tell u to warn customer's to continue to make payments or put those payments in savings because they will be charged one lump sum. This woman had just lost her daughter, husband went blind and dealing with bs reps who didn't care and she was ready to sue... until she got me. We were told to treat customer's as if they are our mother...( the unspoken fine print to this "company principal" unless it doesn't benefit carvana. Principles only apply when it makes carvana $$) after the light and questioning the system I was then plotted against and 30 days later fired after I was sent home due to child needing covod test. They then refused unemployment claiming I knew I broke the rules. The owner has earned himself the title of WORLDS BEST SCAMMER. Plus THEY DO NOT EVER INSPECT THE VEHICLES DESPITE WHAT THEY CLAIM. 95% OF THEIR VEHICLES ARE LEMONS!!!!
I bought a car through Carvana 2 years, the process was really easy and nice, but every-time I have tried to register the car, the DMV website doesn’t recognize the VIN 😳 I traded it in last month on a new car NOT through Carvana 👍🏼🥰
They are salvage cars, flood cars, and yes probably some stolen ones as well… that is the big secret. It will all come out one day once the Feds get deeply involved… it’s coming!!!
Probably do a VIN check before purchasing a used vehicle online. It gets complex if the vehicle is titled/registered in a different state from where it is being purchased.
Even I am facing the same issue in Pittsburgh. Bought a car from Carvana 4 months ago and still waiting for my title and registration. I get a different reply each time I call or chat with customer care.
i've purchased 3 cars from Carvana and its absolutely NOT "blind" at all...in fact its a much better disclosure than private party because they do an extremely thorough detail and replace components that are worn etc..all 3 cars i've purchased have had new brakes, tires, batteries etc when the vehicles only had 20k miles or less PLUS the remaining factory warranty. Buy a Honda: its a no-brainer.
If you do any contract work at your home always save all your receipts together to make sure if you ever have to go to court that you can show the contract and that you paid in full.
What I can't wrap my head around is, what are they gaining by behaving in this manner? I would think the cost/benefit ratio is not in their long-term favor!
I bought a vehicle from Carvana 142 days ago in Nebraska. They first issued temp plates from Georgia, then Arizona, then told me they couldn't provide any other temp registration. Meanwhile, they still cannot locate the title. They told me to "take an Uber" until they can locate the title.
I went thru and Online Car company called Vroom. I had to basically call them every day. But I got my plates in 2 months. But I was furious when they required me to have insurance based on Texas state insurance requirements and I'm not a Texas resident.
I had my plates for Colorado registered, but I moved and I needed the title to register the car in another state. Enter the headache. I got a copy of it finally. But I moved again. I haven't yet tried to register it.
This is really disappointing. I had always heard that Carvana was one of the best run and most honest companies in the country. Why in the world would they be involved in selling cars without titles.? That's what crooks and gangsters do. What the heck is going on? I'm shocked.
Contact your State’s Consumer Protection Agency and State Attorney General. -Carvana should have their Dealers Licenses revoked in every state that they operate.
Bought a car with Carvana… found a better deal in Carvana for same price 3 years newer model less mileage… return the car with 7-day return policy… got the other car… no questions asked… title and registration arrive 4 weeks later… it was a great deal… I even have comprables on loca dealerships at 8-9K more for the same car… of course, I checked the car out with the 7-day warranty period… it’s like eBay, Amazon, PayPal… they get better as they edge… I felt represented during the deal… I never felt that way before in any of my previous purchases of cars or machinery… that’s my experience… those are allegations against Carvana are substantiated by the reporter… let’s see where it goes… it could be local counties being lobbied by dealerships to put hurdles around, it could be a mistake on Carvana mistake, it could be many things… I don’t know I know my purchase and I am impressed. I pray those customers can get a resolution fast for their respective purchases.
I live in Kansas and this is happening to me right now as of yesterday my tags expire on 9 July and I get no answer and they want to send me a check for $250 for my troubles and as of Saturday I will not have a vehicle to drive and I am a hospice nurse if anyone sees this need help quickly.
How can i get help? I have paid my car off for 6 mos. The car is not registered to me…its registered to California……. How do i get my title to my car? I am in miami
Michael better find out if it's Stolen. One guy had his Carvana car towed. It was a wrecked, stolen Hertz car. There is now a class action suit against Carvana
Carvana can't do its business legally due to registration problem from state to state around the US. I think we got our registration system problem thru DMV locally.
I wonder if Carvana is selling these cars and using the funds to pay for operating expenses instead of paying off the prior owner's lien...If so, the house of cards will eventually collapse.
I have the opposite problem. I returned the car but they issued me the title and now we cant get it out of our name and carvana wont respond. we hope somebody wont get sold that car.
I’m in NJ having the same issues. It’s been over 60 days and counting. They offer a check for ride-shares while the car is “un-drivable” but I don’t want the money, I just want a peace of mind. I regret this purchase for sure.
I would contact the lender tell them that you have not received a title and therefore won't continue to make payments. Tell them to repossess the car or you will have it towed to an impound lot. The latter is because no financial institution in their right mind will want to deal with the hassle of freeing a car that has been impounded. Especially since it would be difficult to prove that they hold the lien without a copy of the title.
People want the easy way out and this is what they get. I sat at the Lexus dealer literally all day. My temp tag expired . I immediately went beck and asked for a new one. I talked to an actual person. And the issue was fixed immediately. Yeah I laid a lot of money and it was a slight inconvenience but it was fixed incredibly fast . Don’t be lazy people .
Yea when I sold my car to carvana they didn’t look at my car or inspected the car they went on my word. It was in good shape but they have to make sure they aren’t getting bad cars. They are selling stolen cars
But you don’t get a title unless you pay for the car in full. If there is a lien. There is no title, if there is a loan, there no title. Title is issued after there are no payments left. Of the car is bought cash you get the title within 10 days. That will still allow you enough time to register it.
But even to sell a used car the title must be able to be transferred to the lien holder some of these vehicles unfortunately are having problems with lost titles or even vehicles without clean titles. It sounds like Carvana does a really good job selling you the vehicle but everything after that is a complete mess.
Not necessarily true, on titles there’s are a section of lien holder. Just because you have a loan on it doesn’t mean you can’t get the title. The issue I think is cars being sold in different states than what they are previously registered in. Depending on the state certain paperwork, emissions and inspection is required and other paperwork demonstrating chain of ownership. Wouldn’t be surprised if human error in tow driver losing titles, misfiling, mailing errors and once a title is lost before transfer of ownership, only the individual/business on title can get duplicate, or you would have to prove purchase and transfer of vehicle which in itself is a process. So it just opens doors for so many delays and potential of never getting the title. To then get hard tags. I would bet money individuals with smooth buying experience, if vin is tracked the vehicle never left the state.

Did any of these customers verify that Carvana had the title to these vehicles before they took delivery??? It is not very hard to do. I'm not saying that if they didn't it excuses Carvana. But a title check should be part of a customer's due diligence when buying a used car from anyone: be it a dealership, Carvana, CarMax, Vroom, or a private seller.
They claim to provide the title in the mail within 30 days of delivery. Which is totally sketchy. There is no logical reason why the title can't be provided at the time of delivery.
@@mmiller21157 You are missing the point. I know what Carvana claims. I bought two cars from them. But I also verified they had title to the vehicle before delivery. If the title check doesn't pass muster then walk away.
I got myCarvana Miata on Saturday and my license plate the following Thursday. I am totally delighted with the entire process, and would do it again if I ever buy a used car. Normally I don’t, but I couldn’t get the new car I wanted, so bought a summer convertible with 7,300 miles. It will be stored in winter.
It was a little slow getting a title from buying a car from Carvana, but it was not Carvana's fault. It was the governor of my state which delayed the title transfer. Carvana did all they could to get my state secretary of state to hurry up and get my title transfer. Dont blame Carvana if it is your governors fault!
You probably work for carvana no one shills this hard. I'm still waiting for them to review my paperwork that was 4 months ago. So I took my money to an actual dealership where I could actually look over the car. I didn't have to worry about never getting plates or the car being stolen or the warranty being voided. It's amateur hour at carvana place is a joke.
I bet they were able to process your payments immediately though.
Lol exactly
