Seems like the middle part is missing. Did you replace vanity? How did you solve storage problem? Shower door fix? Towel rod fix? Improvements you made look very nice but you didn't cover the whole project that you explained at the beginning.
Hey everyone - Erika here. First off, thanks for watching how my apartment has unfolded! Its been incredible to share. SECONDLY - lets talk about the shower. So I know we didn't address it in the video, and that is because.. I didn't find a great solution... until recently, thanks to all your posts. They do not make shower tension rods that will fit the width, but they do make window curtain rods that fit. So far,.. so good. The bath mats [as seen in video] also helped the 'slippage' :)
Doesn't have a shower curtain bc they don't make rods that size? Then use a tension curtain rod that expands. That's crazy to let water run out bc of that.
yea, i feel like she should have gotten a little more creative with that issue. on top of your suggestion, she could of also considered using a handle bar, or one of those accordian doors...anything really!
I think that the bathroom as much it is nice is too dark. Maybe the lighting in the camera is off -but how would you see yourself when doing your makeup?
I don't like it. Too dark and dingy. Shower is a major annoyance. If you have water running all over the floor then you are definitely going to have some long term water damage in your floors, not to mention the falling hazard. Glad you are happy with it, but just something to keep in mind.
You can put hooks on the outside of the shower stall at shower height then shorten the width of a shower curtain that has grommets and hang it on the hooks. Not only is the cascading water a safety hazard but it could lead to mold growing under the floor and.behind the opposite wall.
You redo the bathroom but you don't fix the shower problem which ultimatley is hazard since you could fall and crack your head open. Doesn't make sense to me at all.
Uh yeah, not slipping and breaking my behind bone or cracking my head would have been a priority for me. "Ahhh this is such a relaxing shower, but I hope to live when I get out." Maybe she is not fixing it to use in her comedy routine???
Everyone was commenting on the shower curtain fix but you still may have wet feet when coming down the step so I would like to recommend you go to the hardware store of your choice and buy the exterior step, adhesive backed, glow-in-the-dark tape for that step. It is made with a kind of sandpaper feel to it but that will only make your feet feel better and will prevent you from slipping. Yes and a small kitchen type suspension rod will hold a shower liner just fine.
It is very dark, but I like what you did. Perhaps you can ask the landlord if you can paint the sink and also get a curtain and hang it only half the way up so that you can be safe getting out the shower.
I love this dark and romantic look the room ended up with. I love the sparkle of the light fixture as well, but I do have a question... I don't have a lot of experience applying makeup, but isn't the light a little too soft for that?
Ok this was a awesome room make over, I love the wall color you picked but, I watched this video and the one thing that stuck in my mind was, after all of that there was still no shower curtain. So I have a solution for that. get a 1 1/2 inch (or whatever size will fit through the shower curtain rings) wooden dowel and the adhesive rod holders like you use in a closet cut the dowel to size, paint the dowel with an oil based paint to keep it from rotting or mildewing and to help the curtain rings slide better, mount the rings to the curtain and then onto the dowel and then put the dowel in to the rod holder and bam you have a shower curtain and no more busting your butt or head on the floor.
awesome idea, i love how dark it is. but yes a nice light for make up may help. i was wondering if you had any solution on that shower curtain though :) more shows please!
I agree with you completely. Maybe a different color would have made it look more elegant than this one, like dark blue or even red or some kind of purple. But we all have different tastes so maybe she likes that color. Also I agree that through camera colour could be different than in real life.
Oh My God!!! I cannot tell you how much I love what you did with that Bathroom. I love it so much I'm going to paint my bathroom the same color. Seriously, they say the key to great art is knowing what to steal. As I've said before I hate white and have painted each room with different colors and I didn't know what color to paint the bathroom. I have a sort of gallery going on there and wasn't sure what treatment would be best. Thank you. By the way did you find a solution to the shower situation
Stunning. So can you write the name of that paint in the description? I couldn't really get the verbal pronounciation. And also where you got the glass type shelving on the wall near the mirror? And was tear anything else you did? Oh and how much it cost for the "cheap" part. Thanks. Great work on your own. How did you manage to get the brick work I saw in white to look so smooth with that Benjamin Moore paint on it?
Yeah I was wondering about that too. I felt like the lighting would not be enough and affect the way you would put on make up. By the way what light bulbs are the best for putting on make up? People say that natural sunlight is best but I don't have windows in my bathroom :P
The design looks good. I do want to know what you will do about the shower. Some of the recommendations other people made were pretty neat. I do not think a shower curtain will fix an overflow problem though. I would say the only thing you can do is make the ledge higher. How I am not sure though? :D looking forward to the next video
What happened to the shower? Was there any changes made? The entire bathroom was fine but I think added lighting is a must especially for dark a dark paint used.
It looks very nice, not sure it is a big improvement at all but at least it is an idea. Just one thing the color is definetly not "seeping through", that is moisture damage from the apartment below :D. Cool to add a chandeleir to a bathroom etc, shelves are generally a very very bad idea as they just make anything not superorganised look messy so it is basically always better to just go for a a shelf that fits more things but whatever, it is a good start!
I agree. I don't understand why she didn't you buy an extension curtain rod they come in as little as 18 inches. I can pick one up from the $1.50 store. Then hang a clear or white shower curtain. The paint is just going to have issues later if water is constantly hitting it. I also agree with the girl that said that the bathroom is now too dark. You can both look in the mirror but can't see real well. Also why put in a chair? A wood hamper or small wood cabinet with a cushioned seat would be better. That would provide storage and seating.
Kharizmah S very true. And if she couldn't find a rod - why not screw in two hooks, string up a metal cord in the middle, add curtain, and voilà? I think she quite overstated the bathroom dramatics, although I totally understand that she wanted to redo it :-).
Looks like she added bricks/tile to the bottom of the shower area, but I saw no curtain as well. I think a simple solution to her problems here are to get 2 shower curtains, cut/punch holes in the first one, insert/glue silver circles into them and attatch rings. Then hang them accordingly. If there is excess gathering on the floor, simply cut it.
I still not see the shower curtain addressed- what about epoxy 2 hooks where you hang a heavy curtain rod for the shower curtain to hang from- ( we spent 3 weeks in denmark and talk about tiny bathrooms! your is HUGE- they have clever ways of doing everything tiny!...
maybe you can get no slip waterproof mats for the shower problem and see if you can get ones for the steps or make a curtain rod with a wood dowel or plastis pole, pnc pipe etc and and modify a shower curtain like just cut it to fit????
The shower? I'm reminded of the Anton Chekhov quote: "If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired."
Folks she fixed the shower problem, didn't you see the bath mat she put on the floor LOL Even if you can't find a shower curtain rod that would fit, you could have just put up two hooks on either side of the shower walls to hang a curtain from or the curtain rod from.
Seems like the middle part is missing. Did you replace vanity? How did you solve storage problem? Shower door fix? Towel rod fix? Improvements you made look very nice but you didn't cover the whole project that you explained at the beginning.

Exactly! That's what we did.

make a rod. get the two ends that screw into the walls and cut a rod to size.
I think that the bathroom as much it is nice is too dark. Maybe the lighting in the camera is off -but how would you see yourself when doing your makeup?
You can get adjustable shower curtain rods that just have rubber on both ends so they fit anywhere.
If you are going to refer to "cheap" in the title of your video, then perhaps you should share the actual cost of this renovation.
I don't like it. Too dark and dingy. Shower is a major annoyance. If you have water running all over the floor then you are definitely going to have some long term water damage in your floors, not to mention the falling hazard. Glad you are happy with it, but just something to keep in mind.
how was the shower issue fixed
Two options for shower curtain. Tension rod. Or 2 hooks. Hope that was helpful. The lighting is quite beautiful.
You can put hooks on the outside of the shower stall at shower height then shorten the width of a shower curtain that has grommets and hang it on the hooks.
Not only is the cascading water a safety hazard but it could lead to mold growing under the floor and.behind the opposite wall.
I'm sold on that chandelier in a bathroom concept! Thank you!
You redo the bathroom but you don't fix the shower problem which ultimatley is hazard since you could fall and crack your head open. Doesn't make sense to me at all.
+Kristen Paul Not to mention the fact that it would have been the easiest fix in the room. lol.
***** Exactly! lol.
+Kristen Paul exactly. I thought she would fix the shower since she discussed about it in a lengthy manner. hmmm.
Uh yeah, not slipping and breaking my behind bone or cracking my head would have been a priority for me. "Ahhh this is such a relaxing shower, but I hope to live when I get out." Maybe she is not fixing it to use in her comedy routine???

Too dark to put makeup on. needed extra lighting over the mirror
#Malinda Smith looks good, but waaay too dark for my taste. Makes it look smaller. @N KatZ
I was thinking the same thing. Super pretty though.
It is very dark, but I like what you did. Perhaps you can ask the landlord if you can paint the sink and also get a curtain and hang it only half the way up so that you can be safe getting out the shower.

It would be better if she could elaborate on the changes that she has made: going into details about each change would be great.
Well done Erika, the bathroom looks great.
I absolutely love and I'm enamored with this design!
awesome idea, i love how dark it is. but yes a nice light for make up may help. i was wondering if you had any solution on that shower curtain though :) more shows please!
im actually really impressed. i LOVE it.
what about the shower issue?
It's a bit dark I think...
Love dark spaces
For the shower to have a shower curtain get a shower rod and cut it down. or use 2 window tension rods to hold the curtain up
Thanks for the links! Very helpful.
Love what you've done! May I know what kind of grey you're using and where did you get your large artwork for the wall?
Looks stunning!
I agree with you completely. Maybe a different color would have made it look more elegant than this one, like dark blue or even red or some kind of purple. But we all have different tastes so maybe she likes that color. Also I agree that through camera colour could be different than in real life.
I probably would have painted the under-sink cupboards in a dark turqouise or something. But I love the walls, it all looks great!
Great job... Look sophisticated and chic
Omg that is sooo beautiful!!!
You did a great job, Erika!
I like this bathroom much better than the downstairs one. It's a bit dark but the decor is nice.
Too cute!!! Did you figure out the shower curtain situation?! Try a glass/ frosted glass door!!
Oh My God!!! I cannot tell you how much I love what you did with that Bathroom. I love it so much I'm going to paint my bathroom the same color. Thanks for the color suggestion!
Awesome, but... Still no curtain? You could buy like an XL thick bed sheet or something and just create your own tall enough shower curtain.
Looks awesome!
love this one also!.... these people are cuuurazy
Stunning. So can you write the name of that paint in the description? I couldn't really get the verbal pronounciation. And also where you got the glass type shelving on the wall near the mirror? for me the b'room is the place where i must to face with myself and see the truth :D i need more light
Yeah I was wondering about that too. I felt like the lighting would not be enough and affect the way you would put on make up. By the way what light bulbs are the best for putting on make up? People say that natural sunlight is best but I don't have windows in my bathroom :P

I like it, but isn't it hard to get your makeup right in such a dark space?
Yes, the shower curtain! We need to know! Lol! Aren't their curtain rods that have springs so they are adjustable and fit by tension?
seemed dark as far as being able to see oneself in the new improved mirror and also what did you do to solve the shower/flooding issue?
What happened to the shower? Was there any changes made? The entire bathroom was fine but I think added lighting is a must especially for dark a dark paint used.
Bath room is great
right!!!! makes an 'eh' space totally fab.
I like it! I'm a sucker for all things grey. : ) And yeah, what about the cascading water from the shower? Did you tackle it?
she saved herself by say cup-board :P. But I agree it was hysterical. Always looking for the next funny phrase you will say :P
It looks very nice, not sure it is a big improvement at all but at least it is an idea. Apartment above I meant
Nice job, love the color! Can't you find an adjustable curtain rod to fit the shower area? That would bother me to no end! TFS!
How did you solve your shower stall situation? Gorgeous re-design, btw; congrats!
FFC funny make-upuh
I think I would fix the water problem first....
I agree.
I don't understand why she didn't you buy an extension curtain rod they come in as little as 18 inches. I can pick one up from the $1.50 store. Then hang a clear or white shower curtain.

Beautiful!!!
hey you can get cafe tention rods that can sub for shower rod then either custom make shower curtain or simply cut stock...
Great job. But what about the shower curtain.
What happened to the shower space, did u put shower curtain? Was it fixed? Nonetheless I love your vblog I just hope it's a bit longer and detailed.
I like the result but I want to see how did you make all these changes.
Where can I find the painting facing the mirror? Thanks!
Walmart sells tension rods in different sizes.I think they would have the size you need.
You did good!!!
What about the shower?!
sorry!! am looking today!
I forgot to ask where you pick up storage from for the bathroom?
In need of an urgent bathroom makeover!!!
as for the shower curtain. it's super easy to make something that will fit and cost less than 10 bucks from home depot.
Looks like she added bricks/tile to the bottom of the shower area, but I saw no curtain as well. I think a simple solution to her problems here are to get 2 shower curtains, cut/punch holes in the first one, insert/glue silver circles into them and attatch rings. Then hang them accordingly. I loved it ♥
Good job however, you might have considered a light color combination. I think its having a bit dark view
love it!
Are you going to add a shower curtain also?
How did you fix the shower rod situation??
what color for the wall did you use? it looks nice
i think she called it 'soho loft' by benjamin moore paints.
Where did you get the mirror?
I still not see the shower curtain addressed- what about epoxy 2 hooks where you hang a heavy curtain rod for the shower curtain to hang from- ( we spent 3 weeks in denmark and talk about tiny bathrooms! your is HUGE- they have clever ways of doing everything tiny!...
Use a cabinet tension rod, or use I hooks and elastic to put the curtain on.
What was done to fix the shower issue?
maybe you can get no slip waterproof mats for the shower problem and see if you can get ones for the steps or make a curtain rod with a wood dowel or plastis pole, pnc pipe etc and and modify a shower curtain like just cut it to fit????
We have the same type of showers in my house, they alway had shower curtains. And I alway found gray to be a super tacky home improvement color.
What did you do about the shower problem?
The shower? I'm reminded of the Anton Chekhov quote: "If in the first act you have hung a pistol on the wall, then in the following one it should be fired."
Okay. Paint is great buuuuuuuuttt what about the Storage and the Shower...? And the lighting in the bathroom to do your makeup.
What about tension rod for shower? I would be afraid of mold issue :(
AAHAHAHAH TWO GIRLS ONE CUP-BOARD! HAH!!
But you didn't explain how you fixed the shower issue?!?
Folks she fixed the shower problem, didn't you see the bath mat she put on the floor LOL Even if you can't find a shower curtain rod that would fit, you could have just put up two hooks on either side of the shower walls to hang a curtain from or the curtain rod from.
Go girl!
BAHAHAHA, that snow scene :)
Nice
So you painted the bathroom, hung some lights and a mirror. I liked it better painted white, looked much brighter. No shower curtain?
Scary vibe.
What's the paint called?
looks really dark, but nice
so what happened to the shower curtain situtation???
Also, she should add a cute mat to the shower area as to not slip and die when going down those steps.
Its snowing? :o
BB&B has tons of tension rods. Even Command hooks would solve your problem. Water pouring all over will reward you with mold. Enjoy.
