above all, loot instancy, finally i can play with everyone, regardless of level.
bostonianful probably the best addition, alongside the lost and found lol I can’t fathom how much loot I might’ve lost that I could’ve NEVER known about
The auto balanced matchmaking is amazing.
I no longer have to kick high levels out of my game because they kill everything in one shot and ruin the experience!
I can also now keep leveling at a good pace while playing with a friend who's started over with a new character.
This is the perfect solution to matchmaking.
I still don't understand completely how its working...i mean i get it monsters and loot is scaled to players level and the other player or players will have loot and monsters being scaled to their respective levels...what i don't get is how it works relative to the playable area! I mean lets say we are in an area, where monsters and loot are by default supposed to be at level 10 when we show up, so lets say if someone of much lesser level, does that mean the game mechanics will adjust the damage, that that player deals closer to MY level or closer to HIS level?! Because it makes all the difference! I don't want to fight NOOB monsters with NOOB loot, just because someone connected who is level say 2 or 3, so that all the mobs in my area will scale to HIS level (meaning he will benefit from having better loot and i am not!) and vice versa! Or the area we are in doesn't matter at all?! If so, then i can literally be joined by a noob player in an area closer to the end of the game and we will both be dealing damage, that is scaled to his LOW level?! If that is the case, that makes no sense! Mobs closer to the end are supposed to be tough, not some nobodies, that player leveled 2 or 3 encounters in the beginning of the game!

I think it only works when a high level joins a low level NOT vise versa.
They do this to prevent instances where a high level joins a low level and ruins their experience by mowing through enemies like nothing.
Not sure about the area details 🤔
My guess is that if there is a level 10 host with a level 30 joining him, and the host ventures off into an area with level 15 enemies the level 30 will still only see level 30 enemies (and not 31-35 because obviously the enemy scaling is greater the higher the level).
If the host is level 30 and a level 33 joins him and the host ventures off to a level 35 area my guess is that the enemies will be 35 for BOTH.
Then a third person joins them who's level 37, my guess is that enemies will be level 37 for just that one player.
This way the higher level player does not get loot higher than his level UNTIL the host is the same level as him.
What I don't know is how Exp will be awarded, will that ALSO increase since you're killing enemies at the same level? 🤔
My guess is yes, Exp is scaled to enemy level, cuz not leveling isn't fun.

LOL But whatever there is still "classic mode" just in case...btw i am not sure how this "classic mode" would work either! Since its a feature now, rather than hard programmed scripted thing, it means BOTH players would need "classic mode" being enabled in order to play co-op game or one player can have it turned on and the other off? In which case i don't understand how it could work at all...LOL
@@Summon256 the "level scaling" only affects players that aren't the host. What I mean is, if you are the host and someone else joins you who is like a million levels higher than you (that's impossible but whatever) nothing will change to YOUR experience (as in monster levels, loot, etc.) However, for the other player who joined, the enemies will be on his level (only for him).
When enemies are scaled to his level, also the loot will be scaled to his level, I believe the game takes the percentage of damage the player deals for the enemies on his level and applies it to the enemies who are scaled to his level.
So if you were playing solo against enemies that are in your level and it takes you 5 shots to kill a bandit, if you decided to join a lower level the enemies will be scaled to your level and it will take you the same 5 shots to kill the bandit.
And if you are playing alone and it takes you 5 shots to kill a bandit, then a higher level player joins, it will still take you 5 shots to kill the bandit.
I hope this makes it clear, however, in case you didn't know if you play on co op the enemies will generally be harder for every one but will reward better loot.
In other words how does it handle default stats of monsters, when someone joins my game...

So, at one point a tedior weapon was thrown, explodes nearby, and the noise sounds like an actual grenade - deep bass blast, followed by high pitch swan song, short silence, then fade to normal sound volume - all of this from one blast, also followed by a dub step boss fight, talk about ear candy

I get a very destiny inspired vibe with the 3 different action skills, like supers, and being able to go to multiple planets. love it. except obviously way better and we wont be seeing mass nerfs ruining the game because people whine incessantly about LITERALLY EVERYTHING.
Carson Kouts yeah it’s definitely taken some elements from others but making it borderlands still and for sure they’ll fix stuff that needs fixed lie always but they’re not gonna go crushing people’s builds and such just because, it’s a pve game after all...

I havw never playerd any bordelands games but seeing this im kinda exited
Borderlands 2 was what jump started the looter shooters genre to the hype that it gets. The amount of over the top builds and skills makes you feel like you're playing Diablo but with guns. Nothing felt like a chore and farming was actually enjoyable. I once farmed for a rocket launcher for 18 hours straight and didn't feel burnout at all
Part of me is sad yoteslaya wont get to experience this game but another part of me realizes that i should just have as much fun as possible playing it because thats exactly what he would have done

I am watching this over and over and over. Just because im so damn hyped for this game. I can not wait for this godlike game to come out. Borderlands has awlways been my favorite series. And still is to this day. I am also replaying every borderlands through once. Just to keep myself at bay(like the bullymongs)

this is why games shouldnt come out yearly. theres no time to make improvements. if this co-op works out it'll be one of the best co-op games ever. it'll set the standard.
When games come out yearly , it isn't like they are made in a year, call of duty has 3 studios working on each title with a 3 year cycle for each game. Just because a game is annualized (which i don't like) doesn't mean they can't make improvements.
The other thing that's nice is it gives creators the chance to work on other things and be able to reset themselves

a few things Broman. we've played destiny so the loot instancing and enemy balancing have all existed in a game we have all played before. so I don't see what your reaction was. its not like its a revolutionary concept just nice to see this sort of thing updated into the borderlands universe. and I love how classic mode is still a thing because then you can power level other characters super quick which is always great.

I mean it’s no fallout 5/NV2 but it’ll do beautifully
One year later i can say its an ok game. 6/10. The gameplay overall feels nice but the story is complete ass. If they would release Bl2 again with the gameplay of Bl3 i would play the shit out of that again. Sadly bl3 was a bit of a let down for me. Especially after watching the video over and over a year ago to get me and my friends hyped.

It may be old technology, but its new to BORDERLANDS and thats why its exciting.
Borderlands was so good that people still play it 7 years later and to have instancing means I can play with my buddy who is just starting out and I can still play my character where before I'd have to start a whole new game as well. To finally have instancing is huge deal it not being ground breaking.
