The wife of a friend is Taiwanese, I wanna learn the language at least a little to share a bit of her culture so thanks for the content, it helps a lot. I have a really hard time with all the tones, from a French ear I don't get hear the difference.

Is taiwanese mandarin different with mandarin from mainland?
Same but different haha
It's like American English with Australian or British English. Some of the vocab also different.

@@harisdimodi4691 I personally prefer Taiwanese mandarin because their alphabet still original (not simplified), and that what makes their alphabet more beautiful to me. Also their accent are more lovely to my ears. But if you are beginner and didn't mind about the alphabet or the accent, you can go for Chinese mainland mandarin. Since their alphabet is simplified, it will also make your studying easier 😀
