    It'd help some of us if it were stated which version of the 2.0 TDI this covers - or if this service is identical on both.

    Replacing parts isnt that hard if you have the right tools. Diagnosing the car properly if you should replace a part at all or just fix a wire thats causing the problem, thats the hard part, which most mechanics fail to do, because they suck at their job and want fast and easy money with simple repairs.

    Was going to do this, then realised on a 4Motion it's impossible with the transfer box in the way. It becomes an engine out job on a 4Motion... might as well do timing belt and clutch/dmf while I'm at it.

    • @FiveInline84

      Absolutely no need to take the engine out on 4motion, but it’s a lot more work than fwd cars.

    Why did anyone replace this? Was it because of the CEL code? Or because there is no heat in the vehicle? Can this part cause no heat inside the car? Please help

      I had to replace it because of an internal malfunction that was throwing up faults that caused engine warning light, coil light and dpf warning on dash. I also had to do a DPF regen after I replaced the valve. Hope this helps.

      it fails internally and leaks coolant to the intake sometimes, i am having this problem now. I took the hose from intercooler this morning and there was about 1 liter coolant, which lately i was having trouble. I checked everything, like water pump, heater core etc, and i left cardboard under the car but no leaks and i found a forum someone else had same issue and posted some pictures and that gave me the answer. Now i am waiting the part to install it. On the video it looks easy but such a narrow spot i think it won't be that easy

    • @TeezerDriz
      @TeezerDriz Месяц назад

      @@sacitkoc2544 there's an easier way to replace it. Follow the video by "kennedys garage" . That might help. Another step that will help is to remove the lower left engine mount, that will allow you to swing the engine bottom towards the front bumper about 50mm to increase access to the egr area.

    Turns out this is pre CVCA/EA288
    Pre - '15/'16 2.0 liter TDIs.
    '15 and '16 use an entirely different EGR cooler, I believe the same cooler as the passat.

    I have question. My car 2.0 TDI 16V 2005 BKD losing antifriz littlebit and i have pressure in coolant reservoir (bobbles in coolant reservoir when engine is hot, when ii is cold engine there is no bobbles). Also it is never white smoke from exhaust, no matter hot or cold engine. Before 10000 km i replace the cracked head, i put new head gasket and next day it was start losing antifriz again. I put some liquit for clogging of holes and it was good 1.5 year. Now it is losing antifriz again and i dont want to put liquit again, so what can be problem? EGR Cooler maybe? Or little hole somwhere, but where it can be? Also, is it the same problem the losing antifriz and the bobbles in coolant reservoir on hot engine or?

      @@BR-io9vm Im also in Aus. My egr is currently throwing code P0401. I think I'm going to go the remap route get a tune installed while disabling the EGR electronically via software. My only concern is how this will behave with the DPF as online has mixed information.
      Cost of remap including EGR delete via software is $1500, i doubt insurance would be able to tell as it's via software and the benefit is no more EGR problems which solves a lot of headache.

      @Nishad Khan Or your water pump is leaking.

    • @hellohumans175
      @hellohumans175 2 года назад +1

      @Nishad Khan sometimes the egr cooler cracks on the inside, the coolant is circulating inside the egr cooler cooling the hot exhaust air and if it cracks you won't see the coolant leak because it is inside the egr cooler and the crack is small , the coolant is sucked in with the exhaust air by the engine.... this can be one of the issues...

      That is exactly the failure my '15 Jetta had, identical symptoms and all.
      People need to watch which dealers/mechanics they trust, I usually work long hours so I went back to where I bought the car, they guessed (literally guessed - no actual diagnosis testing) that it kicked out a head gasket which in turn somehow trashed the engine - wanted me to have them install a long block, I declined.
      When I could get to it I pressurized the coolant side of the EGR cooler at 20psi, it bled to zero in less than 5 seconds.
