Love Kent´s complex flavour - particularly the stem end´s rich brandy tones. Makes a great mousse - just blended w´ yoghurt, lime zest, & vanilla. Thanks for the vids.
I've been selling mangoes for 28 years and Pakistani honey mangos " CHOUNSA " VARIETY IS THEN BEST MANGO PERIOD. SO EXTRA EXTRA SWEET AND JUICEY AMAZING EATING
Man I accidentally picked up the wrong mangos from aldi's today, I bought two Tommy Atkins mangoes and I never tried them but I heard there not really good and I'm kinda of disappointed because I automatically assumed they were Kent mangoes
:) not just western Europe, i am from middle-Europe, Hungary, and we have also in the big supermarkets from 2004 onwards.. we had a lot Irwins,Tommys, from Brazil, nowadays Keitt, Kent...sometimes grown in Southern-Spain...
I just got up pre dawn in Lake Balboa, California, on Saturday, August 29th, I think, and there were two big, nice looking mangoes sitting on the Kitchen granite surface next to the refrigerator for two or three days, and I was a tad hungry or I wouldn't have bothered with them, mangoes from the supermarket usually mediocre at best, but THESE were extraordinarily rich and delicious, and so I tried to find some I.D. for these marvels on the sticker, and Lo! It said KENT! That's why I rushed ti the computer to see if I could find out any intel on them. Thanks. BTW, any fruit originating in Cocoanut Grove in 1938 was grown by close neighbor of David Fairchild and his famed home called The Kampong, which was purchased for him and his wife, Merriam, by his father in law, Alexander Graham Bell, around a century ago. FOUR great books by David Fairchild a must read for all viewers of these videos. "Exploring for Plants", "The World Was My Garden", "Garden Isles of the Great East", and, particularly, for south Floridians, "The World Grows Round My door", a fascinating piece of South Florida forgotten history. NOW...dawn is breaking...so out to my own plants...outside the greenhouse/catio an absolute horde of cherimoyas, atemoyas and young paw paws ( under dense shade and mist most of these 100 degree days), which I call annona land and a few select citrus rarities like the immensely delicious Tahitian Pummelo, the best fruit, pure and simple I have ever eaten -- when I was 22 at the Club Med in Moorea in the Tahitian island chain -- un-freaking-believable. Bowling ball sized, cut in half and served for breakfast by the chef de village, as thin skinned as a grapefruit and as soft and juicy fleshed, so served with a SPOON, which for a Pummelo is almost unheard of, and the flesh a rich, juicy nectar of exceedingly sweet LIMEADE would be my best description. I don't understand why it is so little known or little grown. French seems to have no separate word for Pummelo so it was always referred to simply as Pomplemousse, FRENCH for "grapefruit", leaving a lot of clueless tourists, none of whom have ever likely quite forgotten this, to them, stunning mystery fruit. I read the reports by Thomas Banks, Captain Cook's Botanist on H.M.S. Endeavor, and he shockingly to me reported these immense citrus fruits growing WILDLY ALONG RIVERS!!!!!, which, to me, meant but one thing -- these WERE SEEDLINGS!!!! Even MORE mystery, ey wot?lol!
Oh my God, those mangos are not ready yet, leave them in tree until they are ready, you are not supposed to pick mangos while they are green, what a horrible mistake.
There are so many kinds of Mangoes and all will ripen off the vine in a matter of days. The most important factor is that they've reached full size. The 'shoulders' should fill out. I live in south Florida and have a Kent mango tree in my yard and the fruit is always green when picked with some blush on top. Softball sized too! These in the video are just fine.
Your my favorite mango grower ❤

Absolutely one of the best I have had the pleasure of consuming. I found that It's best eaten before getting too ripe.

It's one of two that we will finish in the next couple weeks!
I have bought a plant from American Kent, will it also produce mangoes in India in July-August?
our local Aldi carries Kent, I just picked up a few and letting them ripen

Enjoyed reading your comment ❤
Aunty, very good content.
Always enjoy watching your mango videos. Can I request videos on Kesar and Maha Chanook?
Sure! We will try to cover those varieties next season.
What is the brix value of ripped Kent ?
I finally have KENT MANGO 🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭🥭
Chris, can you make a video with pin saen mun and braem kai meu (sp?) mangoes?
We will definitely do them both next season!
What is that thingermagigger you are using to pick the mango's from the top of the tree :)? Thanks for sharing. I love watching your videos as well.
We plan to do a comparison on the types of pickers that we use. The one in the video is a Wolf Garten.
The metal ones are terrible. The skinny fingers bend and eventually break. The bag style with v shaped blade are good.
If you grow one from seed, how long before it fruits? Also can you keep the tree at around 6-7 ft in height forever?
Mangos are not true-to-seed. Meaning the seed will grow to be a unique (maybe good, maybe bad) mango variety
Which you think is best? Kent, Alphanso, Valencia pride, Glenn, Tebow, etc...
Kent
Can you still graft mangos right now
Yes. I've had grafts take all year, but the success rate is lower in the winter.
I live in Southwest Florida which one you recommend of this types:
Kent
Nam Doc Mai
Glenn
Mallika
Coco cream
Kent
Do you know what variety of mango might grow in north Georgia?
No mangos are that cold tolerant. None will even grow in north Florida.
Truly Tropical really?!?!
Красивие))

Kent v Keitt 🤷🏾♂️
