    I have the 500 six days and love it. I have switched out and installed a Taco Moto tail tidy with enduro plate, head light, turn signals, rotor guards, rad guard. I just love it...

    I would like to know more about how you mounted the Voyager GPS in place of the stock speedo/computer and wired it into the OE harness. I also assume you used the OE wheel speed sensor?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 лет назад

      Thank you for your inquiry Mike. This 500exc used this aluminum Voyager Mount: www.chapmoto.com/trail-tech-voyager-gps-computer-top-mount-protector-parent-356-025-tm3 as for wiring, it is very similar to the mounting of the Voyager Pro and you can see each step in this video: ruclips.net/video/8dbWkvbBRic/видео.html -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

      @chaparralmotorsports  6 лет назад +2

      Hello Ralph Coscia, yes, on my personal bikes, I've got BarkBusters or Cycra HandGuards all the way around. It seems that here in the high desert there are not many trees... so guys often will choose to so with deflectors shown here to save weight. They still protect from for flying rocks from roost. Personal preference, but I myself like a good set of lever / bar end protectors. Thanks for watching! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    Hey, thanks for the video. got a question about the swingarm guards you have, i just picked up a set, it looks like on the sprocket side your guard is sitting under the chain guard.. mine looks like ill have to do that too, did you have to drill holes for that? any comments you have on that would be appreciated. thx

    But don’t you have to flash the ecu when u put on a different exhaust and I heard the ecu is locked and dealerships arnt allowed to flash them anymore so what are ur options

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  6 лет назад

      Thank you for your inquiry Mac. Typically you can get away without a computer change when adding a slip-on as we did here. Here in California we can not make any ECU changes, that is correct. There are guys out there and tools to get the job done however. Give us a call and we can discuss them. 1-800-841-2960 - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

      Having to buy a Vortex ECU in order to make the thing run like a “500” is not really race-ready. As if f KTM’s weren’t expensive enough already.

      +Peter Southern Boy Don't believe the crap that these bikes don't run great off the showroom floor. I have a 2017 500excf and it ran perfect with phenomenal power from the get go.

  • @calvinearl4676
    @calvinearl4676 6 лет назад

    Great upgrades! Just one question - with that new free flowing aftermarket exhaust, seems like the bike would tend to run leaner. Since these bikes already run extremely lean from the factory, this would seem to make it even leaner. Don't you want to add a new engine control box so you can set the fuel mix richer? (at least back to stock, if not richer than that)

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  6 лет назад +2

      Hello Calvin Earl, thank you for your comment. Yes Sir! However, we are in California and we can not make any modifications to Fuel as this is a road worthy vehicle, not a track only vehicle. CARB (California Air Resources Board) doe not allow fuel modifications and we can not alter, nor sell and altered bike. But to answer your question, yes... an optimum Air Fuel Mixture is very important. Thank you for watching! - Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

    • @aaronmgray
      @aaronmgray 6 лет назад

      Calvin Earl, the reality is their either flashed the Euro Map, or installed a Vortex ECU. Neither one would they want to put in writing on a forum somewhere. Duh, right? You likely wont find any dealer flashing the Euro Map for you anymore, so YOUR choice would be the Vortex ECU. It's plug-and-play and works excellent.

    • @chaparralmotorsports

      I change it after every big ride ride or two. The last manual I read said 20 to 25 hours or 500 to 900 miles if I remember correctly. On the Nevada trip in question, I did change the oil when I got to my destination and then again after I completed that multiple day ride. - Kyle
