I was the same as you ! But the more you watch, you come to realise that these people are seriously ill. Some of them choose the lifestyle but a lot of them are there by circumstance. I don’t condone what they do but I understand why some of them do!

Even if I grew up around here, I would do everything in my power to escape to another part of the country. I just don't get how so many people can all be under the same spell, like wheres their brains?

Many people have escaped and buried their heads in the sand, out of sight, out of mind! As for the spell you mentioned, it’s called addiction, a condition that effects the mind, the body and soul and it can effect anyone!

@ronferguson9695 Running away and burying your head in the sand? What's the alternative? Stay that way? Sorry but I don't want to live like this lot, I'm not going to change their ways so I might as well get out of there. Yes I've had an addiction myself, but the individual themselves needs to catch on before any change can happen, no government or outside intervention will, and these people seem too weak willed to commit to change

I totally understand what you’re saying. But leaving doesn’t solve anything, staying and being a part of the solution does!
Social issues are driven by the community. Government intervention has little or no impact on the problem until the wider community stands up and says “no more” then governments have to act. History has shown that for centuries!
